Hi guys, about a month ago I got some 2nd hand m3 wheels for my BMW 325i e90. They're 18 inch, 8.5 in the front, and 9.5 in the back. Ever since I got them there has been a weird rotational sound coming from (I think) both of the back wheels. You can only really hear it going highway speeds when you're either passing a car or right up against a barrier. It gets louder the faster I go. It doesn't seem to happen straight away, you have to drive for 10-15mins for it to start happening. Also after driving for around 20mins the inside of the tyre (where its feathered the most) is warm to the touch compared to the rest of the wheel/

So far I've done some research and it could something with the brakes, but since it's both wheels I'm not sure it's that. The inside of both tyres are wearing quite a lot on the inside, and I had the right rear wheel brushing replaced last week. It may also be the dif?

Anyone one have any ideas of what it could be, I thought it might be the inside of the tyres rubbing since they're are a bit wider than the stock ones but I had a look and there seems to be a lot of clearance.

Here is a video of the sound going about 90km/h right next to a high barrier.

	Hi all,

I have an F30 328i and all 4 tyres need to be replaced. Wheels are not standard issue and currently I have Pirelli Pzero Nero GT 255/35 ZR 19 96Y which apparently are not made anymore.

Can anyone suggest a replacement? Garage is suggesting a brand called Hankook which I have never heard of (though that doesnt mean much).

LOOKING TO BUY CENTER CAP FOR 14" BASKETWEAVES.

Backstory

Hey guys, I've just purchased a set of Basketweaves for my E30. I took the set to a local tyre store, all went well until after getting home my rear right cap had fallen out. Quite frustrated considering I had just purchased them, paid to have them installed and then get done over by something that may seem small but as you would all know, without the center cap they look hideous.

I drove back and forth too see if i could see where it had fallen off, couldn't find it anywhere so I went back into the store. Was basically told thats life and that he can't do much about it. Being a teenager I've noticed it very common to just be told to f**k off by many employees etc when they are in the wrong.
I am going to head back in and expect a replacement or the funds for a replacement.

If you guys have any ideas of the worth of a single center cap. Please let me know.
I have a set of 17 x 8 offset 35 wheels on the way and am considering a set of 235/45-17 Hankook Ventus RS4 (Z232) tyres. The idea is to have a set of tyres that can be driven to a street sprint, used for the event and then driven home. I really would have preferred Ventus RS3 (Z222) for the tread pattern, but it seems that they are out of production now that the RS4 is on the market.

Looking around and using the various fitment calculators, it seems that this wheel/tyre size combo would fit and maintain near enough the same tire diameter. So looking for some advice

Q1. Who has used this wheel/tyre size combo on an E92 ? Any issues with clearance ?

Q2. Who has used the Hankook RS4 (in any size) and how did it perform ?

Q3. Who has used 235/45-17 tyres (any brand) for clubsport events (excluding circuit) ?

Q4. Am I on the wrong track here and should I be looking at a different tyre size with a shorter sidewall ?

Would mention that I am not committed to the RS4. It just looks to put a decent amount of rubber on the ground in solid blocks and is a directional rather than asymetrical design... and 200 wear rating.

Above is the Hankook, but based on price and availability the Zestino 07A below might be a better option. It is made in a couple of different wear ratings and seems to be easier to find than the Hankook. Zestino seems to be one of the new generation Chinese tyres and has been rated quite highly by some of the people who have posted test results on the web.

I'm not planning on winning any trophies, so I don't need $500 tyres. If I can put a set of four on the car for under $1000 and have some fun... them I'm good

I am buying photo 2, a 330ci Motorsport E46. I am wishing in the future to have it look either like photo 1 or 3. I know those are M3s and therefore more aggressive. I want the tyres straight, don’t like camber. Worse case Eibach Springs and Bilstein Struts (loves it on my e30). Would love actual photos and setup details of others who own this exact model even if it don’t look like this. This is not another post of what yours looks like. What I would love to know is with your detailed setup and photo what works or does not work. E.g. ride height, callipers, rubbing, wearing, road noise, before and after from factory, etc. thanks

I believe the ID of the wheel the suit is around 11.2mm standard size.

The top side washer / plate has an overall diameter of 16mm

	Hi all,

Looking for some guidance to help me diagnose some vibration I am getting from my E90 335i. Never noticed anything previously, then got a new set of tires all round, replacing the runflats with S001s. Now get a vibration/shake through the steering wheel at speeds from 90kph+. Also sometimes get some vibration under braking, I don't recall noticing this before, could be related or a coincidence. I assumed it was a balancing issue so took it to the tire place across the road for them to check, they rebalanced but said it was pretty good (I'm assuming the place that fitted the tires in the first place also did a balance). Made a small improvement but there is still noticeable vibration there. My question is do I take it to a specialist wheel alignment/balancing place for another look (do they have better equipment than your local Firestone etc), or do I start looking at other things suspension etc..?

	Hi.

Need some tires for my E36, running a square set of 7.5" Style 24. Have been quoted two options which sound good but I can't choose between them.

First is the correct oem size, 235/40R17, and is a Falken Fk452. Reviews are mixed, with the general consensus on forums that they are good tires wet or dry, but those tire review sites seem to indicate wear and wet performance is an issue.

The second option is 225/45R17. This is a very common size, but both narrower and taller than the OEM size. This will cause the speedo to be out by about 2kph at 100kph. The tire in this size is a Goodyear eagle F1 directional 5. My understanding is that the eagle is a much better tire, but not in OEM size. These are $30 dearer than the Falkens for all 4, so much of a muchness.

Anyone got any solid opinions on this?
