<p>
	Hey all,
</p>

<p>
	I’ve acquired an NZ New 2009 335i (E90) and I’m looking into doing catless downpipes. My understanding is that being a 2009 car it’s ok.
</p>

<p>
	Could I get some suggestions as to what kit I should buy? And where from? Nothing extravagant...
</p>

<p>
	I’ll get a local euro mechanic to do the swap out.
</p>

<p>
	Many thanks!

<p>
	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	A family member of mine is looking at buying a 335ci. It has a JB4 tune on it currently, which she isn't overly interested in. Have been in a stock one before and it is plenty fast. Just wondering if anyone knows about the uninstallation process? And if there are any potential consequences of having a car that was once tuned? Would one be better off to go for a car that hasn't been tuned? I have zero knowledge when it comes to tuning so any advice is appreciated.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Cheers

<p>
	Hey looking for any and all info I get on fitting a turbo/sc on my 1999 323ci
</p>

<p>
	I believe my engine will be a m52b25 unsure if it's single vanos or what and unsure of how that will affect things but I think it does give an easy place to rap into for oil feed?
</p>

<p>
	I also believe it' odb1 and I'm unsure if that increases or decreases tuning capabilitys
</p>

<p>
	Biggest issue I see is the amount of room on the turbo side, the manifold is easily achievable as I've seen an ozzy flip the factory extractors to easily clear steering but then I'm wondering if any one has done this then what size downpipe did you fit and how? Also considered running a pipe to the other side but again room is limited.
</p>

<p>
	Another option I'm curious about is what type/style of superchargers will work easiest? I read about estima turbos working ok.
</p>

<p>
	Will be doing arp studs and a MLS gasket and injectors and bigger intake etc not rich so hoping to be able to use a rb25det turbo or a estima supercharger or something along those lines.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Sorry for the long post guys any help is much appreciated

<p>
	I just picked up my 335i from BM Workshop having asked them to fit my VRSF DPs.  I have been running an MHD stage 1+ tune and have and upgraded CP and FMIC.  I do have a custom tune booked but I'm not keen to throw more horsepower until I sort this issue.
</p>

<p>
	Since having the DPs installed, definately notice a performace improvement, but I immediately noticed the familiar wastegate rattle that drives me nutz!.  I understand that it's a wear and tear issue around the wastegate actuator arm bushing and in a perfect world would replace the turbo's or have them rebuilt.  I'm interested to know what others have done to try and resolve this issue.  The technician did note that my vacum lines look worn and thats a job for this weekend to sort.
</p>

<p>
	Could a vacum leak contribute to the WG not closing and hence the rattle?
</p>

<p>
	Why would installing the DP immediately start the rattle when it wasn't there before?  less back pressure?
</p>

<p>
	Appreciate any comments

	Howdy,<br /><br />
	I'm new to all of this and have done a fair bit of research but before I go splicing wires I need a wee bit of guidance and someone to say "Yup looks good" or "Wrong, x needs to go to y" etc. If I'm way off it'll be going to a pro, but why not give it a crack myself first.<br /><br />
	I'm using a Link G4 Storm and the stock Motronic 1.3 harness. Plan is to just remove the 55pin connector, strip the wires, crimp to wires on the Link harness and heat shrink.<br />
	M20B27 block, M20B25 head, add a turbo.<br /><br />
	A few things I'm unsure of:<br />
	On the pinout guide I'm using for the Motronic, pin 8 is labelled as "Cylinder ID Sensor," as is pin 31. Which of these is for the crank position sensor, and which is the cam sensor/wire on the spark plug wires? <br />
	Pin 36 "Main relay output," does this connect to a digital input on the link side?<br />
	Pin 37 "Switched power from main relay," does this connect to an Auxiliary output on the link?<br />
	Throttle position sensor - can the stock M20 one be used?<br />
	Lastly, the are two "engine speed inputs" on the motronic, pin 47 &amp; 48, do these both connect to the link digital inputs? <br /><br />
	Appreciate any input. I've attached images of what I plan on doing so far in terms of what's getting connected to what. For the most part it's pretty straightforward, but I have put a "?" in the left column of the things I'm unsure of <br /><br />
	Thanks team!<br /><br />
	EDIT: This diagram/table is very wrong, please don't use it! I am almost finished with a new table which is (somewhat) correct. I will post it here soon so people can use it if need be.<br /><br /><a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileid="61960" href="http://bimmersport.co.nz/uploads/monthly_2017_03/Page_1_hand_written.png.210225329a5c231725136682fbc3a241.png" rel=""><img alt="Page_1_hand_written.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="61960" src="http://bimmersport.co.nz/uploads/monthly_2017_03/Page_1_hand_written.thumb.png.748c39adbd9166ffc99fc5440103cac3.png" /></a><br /><a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileid="61961" href="http://bimmersport.co.nz/uploads/monthly_2017_03/Page_2_hand_written.png.0dd95020d081b6b0d38f3b5a940461e1.png" rel=""><img alt="Page_2_hand_written.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="61961" src="http://bimmersport.co.nz/uploads/monthly_2017_03/Page_2_hand_written.thumb.png.454fc3a4d26cfbaca2906ded3931ea19.png" /></a>

<p>
	Hey Guys,
</p>

<p>
	As I am relatively new to modding and tuning I thought I'd better ask and see what sort of stage maps people are running with what mods.
</p>

<p>
	Currently waiting on parts that i've bought online which are not the highest of quality but meet my budget.
</p>

<p>
	<strong><u>Order list - </u></strong>

<ul><li>
		Dual Cone Intakes

	<li>
		BMS BOV Kit/Charge pipe
	</li>
	<li>

</ul><p>

</p>

<p>
	My questions are basically what MHD and xHP maps are people running on similar set ups? What maps do you think I should be running with this sort of set up?
</p>

<p>
	Also on a side note, what insurance companies are people with?
</p>

<p>
	All opinions will be greatly appreciated.

<p>
	I have a E46 318CI (M43B19) engine &amp; I was wondering if anyone has done any Forced Induction modifications to this engine? Turbo or Supercharger? I found a youtube vid that shows that someone has done it but it wasn't infortmative it was just for show.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I know some people are probably going to say its not worth it due to being a small engine but the car has sentimental value to me so I am willing to try do it despite power limitations. It won't be the fastest E46 but I want a bit more out of it.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Any other modifications other than Forced Induction will be helpful too.

	Howdy team,<br /><br />
	As the E30 moves to forced induction I need a standalone engine management system. Being that my preferred tuner is very familiar with link ecu's that's what I'll be using.<br /><br />
	I good deal for a G4 Storm has come up. Basically, is there anything I'll be missing out on and would need that the G4 can't offer? Is spending an extra $800 for a G4+ justifiable?<br /><br />
	Car will be running M20B25 with B27 block, nothing crazy just new bearings, arp hardware etc. Not planning to have wasted spark or anything out of the ordinary. It'll pretty much just be a refreshed M20 with a turbo strapped on hopefully making around ~~350hp at ~~15psi<br /><br />
	As far as I can gather. given that this build is pretty straightforward I will be fine with the G4<br /><br />
	Appreciate any insight!

<p>
	I not sure if this is the right place to put this but as its a turbo I chose the forced induction section.
</p>

<p>
	So I bought a 2007 (Jan) 335i with 77ks on the clock in mid November 2016. I bought it from Queenstown after a mate gave it the once over. The price was right and overall it's very tidy. There are a couple of scratches but when it's sorted mechanically I will get them fixed. Interior is tidy with aluminium trim and being a coupe is has Msport seats and suspension.
</p>

<p>
	The drive from QT to Wellington was awesome, the car went well and while not as taut as my E46 the steering (active steering) was very nice and while not as weighty as the E46 it is a bit quicker and the feel is decent. The suspension is a bit softer than the Ohlins setup in the E46 but that is to be expected.
</p>

<p>
	After a week I decided to get it serviced and booked into First Class European in Petone. They had serviced my E60 and E46 and on the whole they did a good job on those cars and the pricing was fair. The boss Sheldon is a very nice guy but to be honest when he is away I have less confidence in the staff. Unfortunately he broke his back and has only been at work part time.  After the service and intake port de carbon I picked up the car and on the first pedal the floor run the half engine light came on. As I was still close I took it back and they cleared the fault codes and off I went again, as you might guess I did it again. The code was the not uncommon 30FF. Which is a boost leak and or vacuum leak that results in a mismatch between actual vs predicted boost. When this happens the light comes on and boost is pretty much cut so its like driving without the turbos.
</p>

<p>
	The next service they went over it with a smoke machine to check for leaks and re installed the lastest software for the DME. They could find no boost leaks or vacuum leaks and their test said all ok. Same issue so back again.
</p>

<p>
	This time they found a few pin holes in the intercooler so I got an aftermarket EMS unit. This did not fix the issue. They then subbed it out to another workshop to double check their work. They identified a faulty boost control solenoid. Aha that must have been the issue. But no. To be fair though when I picked it up on Friday it felt great in fact the acceleration was better than ever and on the first few full throttle runs the half engine light stayed off, Yeha! But alas driving through Whitemans valley in DS mode it came on again. Oil temp was 110c so not too hot. So back to square one.
</p>

<p>
	So far they have checked the following that I know of:
</p>

<ul><li>
		Vacuum Leaks
	</li>
	<li>
		Boost Leaks
	</li>
	<li>
		Wastegate solenoids.
	</li>
	<li>
		Charge pipe integrity.
	</li>
	<li>
		Diverter valves
	</li>
	<li>
		Software.
	</li>
	<li>
		There is no obvious wastegate rattle and at 80,000 kms there shouldn't be either.
	</li>
</ul><p>
	To be honest I am ready to give up on it and return to a more reliable car (brand of car) but like most people I now have an emotional attachment to the vehicle and to be fair it looks great and the chassis has some potential. If anyone else has has similar dilemmas I am certainly interested in what to do next.
</p>

	Hey team,<br /><br />
	A new clutch is one of the last things I need for my turbo build and I'm really lost as to what we have available here in New Zealand which is rated to around 320 torque. Of course I could import a clutch, and if I did I'd be getting a Spec Stage 2 or 3, probably 2 for my power goals (~260kw at the wheels)<br /><br />
	Really interested to hear what you guys running turbos are using and where you got them, I currently have a dual mass flywheel but will be going single mass. M20B25 with Getrag 260 box. Thanks!<br /><br />

<p>
	Hi All,
</p>

<p>
	I know this has been discussed before awhile back but i have hit a road block with my turbo manifold and wanted peoples opinion before i go and start spending $$$
</p>

<p>
	So i managed to semi build myself an turbo manifold with individual runners but have run into issues on the collector end as i don't really have space for the wastegate unless i mount it on top of collector (which with my welder blowing a gas bottle, i need a new regulator + gas so that's about 350-400 i can put on that or someone else finishing my exhuast off)
</p>

<p>
	So check out pics attached and let me know your thoughts (Note i have a twin scroll turbo)
</p>

<p>
	1. Go back to log style manifold (more space but likely wont support my power numbers i want)
</p>

<p>
	2. Keep as is with bottom mount and have someone finish off the manifold
</p>

<p>
	3. Keep same style but change to top mount (only issue is getting 2.5" outlet into two pipes, which i confirmed will just fit between last runner &amp; firewall and 6/5)
</p>

<p>
	4. Buy this and just get a 50mm flange installed - <a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-M30-T4-Turbo-Manifold-E30-E32-E34-E28-E24-E23-E9-/131806544376" rel="external nofollow">http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-M30-T4-Turbo-Manifold-E30-E32-E34-E28-E24-E23-E9-/131806544376</a>
</p>

<p>
	5. Or go with this guys idea (pictures at top and bottom of page) and make down pipes fit -  <a href="http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=285809" rel="external nofollow">http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=285809</a>
</p>

<p>
	I am personally leaning towards options 3/4/5 but i do like option 5 as i could probably do with materials i currently have and just tac together and get someone to finish off but noticed there is no wastegate (so don't know if space is there)
</p>

<p>
	So let me know what you think and if need be we will do a poll and go for it + anyone know any good fabricators in manwatu/welly region as i would prefer local rather than sending the car somewhere else in the country.
</p>

<p>
	Note: Topcat , BMWorld and other members have been awesome so far with info and i will be representing bimmersport once this is up and running (dreams)

<p>Hi guys. I've got a 1993 E36 M3. Obviously RHD and euro spec. It's my weekend fun car and odd track day car. Have done a lot of mods to the suspension, drive train and engine in it's current NA state.</p>
<p>I'm now after a bit more power as I've basically done most of what I can on the NA side. There seem to be a lot of supercharger kits getting good results out of the states and Europe, but they are for the lower powered US spec models (240hp) or left hand drive models. As mine is the 3.0L (210kw/286hp) there don't seem to be any 'kit' options that work.</p>
<p>Ideally I'd like to get around 400hp, maybe a little more and retain a lot of the reliability and drive ability that I currently enjoy. Does anyone know if there are any kits out there that would work for me, or any tuning places that have done work like this before that I could talk to?</p>
<p>Thanks in advance for any assistance.</p>
<p>Cheers,<br />Skyguy</p>

<p>So in my silly haste to get this project well under way i didn't read properly into it, realising that i should have done a bit more reading first.</p>
<p>I have come to the problem of ecu and wiring....now before i get too far im going to ask here on what people have done as there is no option for the 402 ecu with its small maf sensor, so what have you guys done with the ecu when it comes to getting a turbo conversion up and running?</p>
<p>Looking round the place it seems the simplest option is to try and find a M50tu loom and 413 ecu with MAF and crank pulley etc.....or go direct wire in and tune that way?</p>
<p>anyone used any other ways to get around this horrible system?</p>

<p>So a pretty niche question, but here goes.</p>
<p>I have an excavator-spec HX35. The good is that it has a non-WG 12cm divided turbine housing. The bad is that it has a 46/83mm (thats 30 trim...) coldside. I have aspirations of more power than that (M10B20, built accordingly).</p>
<p>The compressor wheel looks like this:</p>
<div><img src="http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb4/cam_baudinet/Misc%20cars/99d5c5ce31d0a18342a6b642f1c94a39.jpg" alt="99d5c5ce31d0a18342a6b642f1c94a39.jpg" /></div>
<div> </div>
<div>So what I have found at some stage in the past is a 50/78mm wheel and housing. This was a great setup in my head until I found out the one I had was 83mm exducer (I expected 78mm). So when I put the smaller wheel on it looks like this (note the gap between the edge of the wheel and the start of the backplate):</div>
<div> </div>
<div><img src="http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb4/cam_baudinet/Misc%20cars/121bfce729c76715d586e71de95af0fe.jpg" alt="121bfce729c76715d586e71de95af0fe.jpg" /></div>
<div> </div>
<div>So the question is ... will that affect performance? Or am I better to go hunting for a 83mm solution, either with a matching housing (some HX35, some HX40 fit the bill in 54mm or 56mm) or possibly find a 54/83mm (54mm-ish) wheel and get one of the housings I have machined to suit by crunchy? Anyone else an expert on these things?</div>

<p>Hi,</p>
<p>As per title, I want to learn how to tune from a professional.</p>
<p>So far as I can see there is an online course 'HPA', which looks legitimately promising,</p>
<p>but wanted to know if anyone had any other bright ideas.</p>
<p>I work a full time job as a drafty so the hours are not that flexible.</p>
<p>And I don't just want to know, how to work on one particular brand of ecu.</p>
<p>I don't bite, everyone's 2 cents is appreciated.</p>

<p>Hi guys, im just trying to decide which is the most cost effective route to take (not necessarily the cheapest) but power per $$.</p>
<p>im not looking to go too crazy, but is it more worth while doing a straight chip with no mods? or uprated intercooler, injectors and a straight through exhaust with a remap??</p>
<p>chip is $950 +gst</p>
<p>not entirely sure what im looking at for a remap. from what ive read these are pretty standard upgrades for this car so perhaps i can buy a map someones already made rather than paying someone to create one?</p>
<p>any thoughts would be appreciated.</p>

<p>had a couple of oil leaks etc that needed to be sorted , rocker cover , oil filter housing and some small O-rings on the oil filter housing and dipstick tube .</p>
<p>so i thought while i was pulling everthing apart i might as well install a m50 manifold and this super charger setup.</p>
