Since it's been a LOOONG while since I've been on here...this may be of interest to some. Following on from my car history here: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=244934 the most recent acquisition is up and running! FS Ad: She was running reasonably well, but I wanted to make her as nice as possible, so off to a mechanic (I'm cheating this time - after rebuilding a coupe of E30's, I simply don't have the time, space, tools, so it's been a real luxury having someone else do the work! And better than I would have, being honest...) List of parts replaced is pretty extensive, some of them below: Newish Mtech springs, shocks and struts from the old car (standard - love em), Full new front control arms, track rods, E30 M3 bushes, drop links, new BMW standard exhaust (I LOVE this thing), BTB manifold (unfortunately it was advertised as having a BTB which turned out not to be true), BBTB (thanks Byron!), new WMS discs (the old front R had malformed and cracked coming off, ouch), new Toyo Proxes all round, Inspection II, bonnet foam, gearbox seals, guibo & CSB, gearshift knuckle, cambelt/waterpump, a wheel bearing, 25mm Master Cylinder and numerous new clips, etc. Replaced the speakers and stereo, a few more things on the checklist but otherwise she's running well and loving her. Need to get the wheels straightened and then can start worrying about whether to 2.8/3L her or not... I really love the blue leather! [/url]

More than enough inputs. I will update the Map ecu 2 to the latest firmware this coming weekend. I will also look at tapping a temp sensor for the new diff before I put it in.

Very nicely done, for a great all-round result. Personally I really like the pin-stripe M colours on the grille and thought that was a really good detail (and so did the wife!!).

This pulled out of a sidestreet a couple of cars in front of me in Carterton the other day. Bet he was wondering what was up with the little Mazda 3 flying past cars to catch up to him haha

Yep... Truly awesome car. Hard to fault (except maybe the m stripes on the grille - but that's just personal preference). Love it and the noise it makes when you disappear in front of the rest of us!

A red E46 M3 following me from Maraetai - Whitford Sunday afternoon at about 530pm? Needless to say that was fun..

Basically, much like Nick says - its been ba$tardised ....... I'm intrigued with the idea that we're gonna find what the OP wants though for 12-15k, (basically what he wants for his 530 is gonna turn into a NZ new M3......)???I'd have thought that's fairly ambitious probably...........

For me that one would be a non starter. As IMO negatives include: colour, engine swap, pre-facelift, that hideous wheel, those hideous wheels. But that's my personal taste....

Thanks for the feedback Steve but (not to cause offense) your exactly the type of person this series is not aimed for. In one week (via word of mouth) 2KCUP have had 14 people come forward wanting to genuinely get involved, funny thing is they have never been part of a car club or done motorsport before. They are not interested in modifying the car and just want to have a go. <- They are the type of person this series is geared for. If people want to modify there car there are heaps of other series to join, Classic Japanese, honda cup etc etc So to expand that last question, "Cant see why they would allow a Honda with V-Tec (176 hp/174 N·m) or a Toyota MR2 (178 hp/191 N·m) ( but not a FTO Mivec (197 hp/200 N·m).. also missing Nissan Sylvia (sell for $4+) from that list." The series is trying to keep peak HP under 180hp, we are also trying to keep the cars list realistic. If people want to cheat they should refer to rule 2.8: also - "fastest car you could buy would be a Honda CRX SIR if you could find one, its not on the list but would decimate all with over night parts from Japan." At 1050kg with 150hp, I think it would have reasonable parity with other cars running ~170hp and 1150kg. As a side note, although I have not updated the rules yet, all ~1595cc DOHC VTECH's will have to run in the 1600-2000cc class to keep parity.
