Rant marked 1/10. Lack of extreme hyperbole, absence of excessive swearing and proper spelling all counted against. You also left out 'dont you know who I am'.

This happens to me at McDonalds. I've all the time in the world to decide while waiting in line and then I get to the counter and panic and order the same thing as always. I'm not ready for this type of responsibility.

well bugger me. we've been back in niu zild for what, 13 years. our own little bit paradise. house (mortgage), kids, even scraped together coin enough to get a modern replacement for the e30 touring I had to sell leaving blighty. yesterday morning, the minister for war headed down to the car with our offspring in tow, while I fumbled with shoelaces and alarmed and locked the house. got to the street, admiring the beautiful orientblau metallic, and the faces of my family. only, my significant other is not looking as cheerful. "notice anything different about the car?" she asks me hmmm. "errrrr, there's some birdshit on the bonnet" "no" "errr I dunno" "look at the mirrors" "eh? what... where are the mirrors?" yes folks, some miserable twunt stole the door mirrors from our e46 overnight. BROKE them off, rooting the brackets. not to be outdone, the cut all of the wires. Fekkers. thoughts of 'paradise' abandoned; we're actually living in a third world country, where idiots are thieving parts from 13 year old cars. There must be Karma. I imagine the NZ Herald... "Dateline Wellington. Man arrived in the early hours of this morning at Wellington Hospital A&E, with funny gait. Doctors later removed car mirror that had been rectally inserted. When interviewed by this reporter, the man claimed he had no recollection of how the mirror - or the boot marks on his posterior - got there. Medical staff were suppressing their guffaws. Police said they were steeling themselves to look in to the matter, but were waiting until breakfast had settled." So, can anyone explain: is there a new market for e46 mirrors? A black market? Modders - are they great on e36's or Familias? I just don't get it. I know they're (my touring mirrors) are only for the sedan and wagon; the coupe and convertible have different units; the Ti are unique; the M3 different again. I figured they're pricey. Called insurance, filed police report. If anyone can help me understand what someone would use my beautiful, orientblau, now-broken, e46 touring mirrors for? Answers on a postcard please. Meanwhile, if this scumbag needs more mirrors, I have a spare 850 door mirror in my workshop. I'd be very happy to 'introduce' the two of them. Perhaps he'd make the papers. 'wearing' a mirror might give him a new perspective. Choose a more useful direction in life. Hmmm, direction. It's not like we can see what's around us when we change direction, at the moment. Did I say earlier, this person must be a right koont. Off to a couple of insurance co nominated repairers tomorrow, to get this underway. Our insurer was great. /rant Olaf

Actual what the f**k. Because the guy who lost his electorate seat to a further increased margin and was the last person on the Labour list to make it into parliament under PV clearly has the backing of the nation to instil the necessary confidence in troops off to Iraq.... Yeah right. That there forum life People (aka this bitch this evening) that pass unnecessarily in a 50km/h residential (pic 1) then proceed to get shitty when no one (aka me) lets you re-merge into the normal 50km driving line (pic 2). If memory serves me correctly that is what easter is for. Jesus died so we can work on our race cars. Good Friday, wash and diagnose the car, Saturday, fix the car, Sunday, keep fixing the car cursing that Repco is closed and you have run out of small sized cable ties. Monday, pray for the resurrection of race car. Yes. Its like they are on a mission to use as much petrol as possible. I love it when they aggressively swap lanes because they think you are a slow poke.. I shadow them after that. They loose their sh*t.

Purchased some Autoglym "body work shampoo" and "paintwork sealant" from Autoglym, and have washed and applied the sealant to the car and am amazed at the results. I have tried EVERY main car detailing brand (mothers, meguires, eagle, rainx, turtle wax, poorboy, armor-all) and have had nowhere near as much shine, longevity and ease of application. So I'd thought id let you guys and gals know the next time you need to stock up on detailing gear i'd thoroughly recommend Autoglym, they are a lot more expensive than other ($75.00 for soap and sealant) however it is totally worth the investment, and even Jaguar, Morgan, and Aston Martin use autoglym!

Many (many) moons ago, when I was troubled youth, my friends and I used to bike through the streets of Cambridge (UK) on (usually) 'borrowed' push bikes under the influence of this, that and the other. There are lots of narrow residential streets in Cambridge with cars parked the length of them on both sides all day and night. We'd ride down said streets, legs akimbo, booted-feet aimed perfectly at wing mirrors. 5 points for bending it back, 25 for breaking it off. Not proud of it, but just pointing out that said theft was more likely plain old vandalism. Have a look in your hedge or nearby bins and you might find your busted wing mirrors. Apologies to anyone whose mirror I broke 25+ years ago.

Interesting. One thing that stands out is the failure within 3-4k kms.... 136k-140k-143k Sounds like a systematic type issue - not just random. I work for Fenix and recall seeing one of the failed radiators, it was severely bowed out signaling an over pressurized cooling system. Not sure who replaced it, as under those conditions it wasn't a warranty failure. We sell a number of these radiators and they have a very low failure rate due to quality issues. When they fail it's typically down to engine related issues with the car. If its definitely not the head gasket it could be some other small issues causing such a problem. If the cooling system is like a 540i E34, they have a small bypass line that circulates coolant back to the top of the expansion tank - if this is blocked it's going to increase pressure somewhere in the system, typically the radiator. The radiator cap too must be functioning correctly, if it's not it's not going to maintain cooling pressure and over pressurise the system. After many drives such an overpressurization is going to fatigue parts in the system gradually, such as the radiator. Has the expansion tank or cap been replaced / check they're in 100% working order?

people who tailgate you while you're going 100kmh on the inside lane on the motor way then when u move to the 2nd lane to let them pass (which you would assume is what they want) they just keep going at the same speed then block u with the guy on lane 2. window washers who squirt your windscreen even after u wave saying NO. the same people who then demand money from you after doing a lousy window cleaning job as well as making a mess on your bonnet/fender.

I have the sprintshift in the Merc MH which is a manual gearbox controlled by a computer and the clutch working off hydraulics. It can drive in Auto & Manual. The MH weighs in at over 3 tons and changing gears manualy and having engine braking makes driving it a dream. The 2.2 TDI engine has a sh*t load of grunt which combined with the trans makes it a pleasure to drive long distances. I must also add.... I don't hold up traffic 100kph full time no problems just need to slow down in the twisties as you would in a car. I can also run at about 15-20 kph over the recommended speeds indicated on road signs.

Nice E34 that parks outside my work on Corban Ave in Albany some days. Will snap a pic when I can. On a negative though. PFL E39 540i around Torbay area. Young guy driving. It is the worst sounding V8 BMW I have ever heard. Loud as hell. If anyone knows this guy please inform him of how bad his car sounds. E.g. I would rather be driving a 4cyl Toyota Altezza with a Chinese made fart cannon on the back.
