Well my Sunday Driver got collected today. A 2000 E38 740i, NZ New 205ks Got it ex Turners for $2400. Using this as a bit of a track on the progress. Initially mechanics look pretty good, drives really well, no clunks or anything. Good service records. Interior is pretty filthy though and everything not done in a service hasn't been touched, like cabin air filters. Little stuff like having a Kabab stick, yes that's right, stuffed down the wiper blade to hold it in. The grill on the bonnet I found had no fixings in it when changing the blades, all lazy stuff Lots to tidy up, again looks stored outside and needs a Real good compound and polish etc to clean up.

Being an avid racing game fan I have forever been looking for " that game " the one that ticks all the boxes, the game that looks, sounds and feels real. The game that has the perfect cars, the perfect tracks and the perfect tuning. This is not that game. This is however the best racing game, sorry, Driving Simulator I have ever played and it's pretty damn close to home simulator nirvana. If you own a steering wheel, a PC and have the patience to handle a steep learning curve, this f**king game will reward you more than any other racer has. Anyone fancy a blast through the welsh countryside in an e30 M3 Evo? What about Pikes peak in a 500hp Quattro ? Just be prepared to crash and burn as any little mistake will ruin your, up till then, perfect stage. No Rewinds No Gymkhana No Map No Ken Block No Bullshit Just you, your co-driver and a bunch of swear words as you restart your car over and over and over $45 on Steam Enjoy

Mmmm these cars are always dying for a good clean up Will take years off the age once you've finished a good bit of TLC.

Just want to point out that this game is early access, and the price has been going up with updates so if you are wanting it you should likely jump on now. I like the daily events that you cant restart or anything and you get put onto a world ranking.

Might give this a whirl. I'm quite fond of project cars, between my best friend and I we're sitting on about 20+ world records (Steering wheel, manual transmission, no driving aids) for most of the well-known tracks in the GT3 cars. It's an excellent sim and I'd recommend it if you haven't played it.

Spent $50 getting the excess wax sucked out of my ears from 3 years of earplugs and dirty fingers. I can now hear my bosses keyboard from the other side of the office. Weow! Also, 1 week left of work! f**k YES!

Cars been found, trailer still missing. Seems the car was dropped on a back road in Takanini. It must have been too obvious I guess. Was left outside the friend of a guy who I know on Fbook, so we got informed before the cops even knew. We have cctv of the theives leaving Steve's place with the car in tow and know who the car belongs to and where they live, cops have been informed. Would like to thank all involved very much, we are due to be at the opening meet next weekend, so here's hoping it is all ok.

So I've had my fair share of weird cars after my last E36 M3 and a brief stint with an E46 M3. So after feeling the need for another M3, I initially looked at the Church St European M3 (Tom's old M3) but missed out by a day to another member here. Feeling slightly gutted I called the owner of a M3 CS in Christchurch only for them to waste my time in waiting for their car to be wof'able and two weeks later I got told they will be taking it to Aus with them. After all that effort I was about to give up but I sent a PM to DSC0FF for his car. Sort of went like this: https://youtu.be/-KgFZhGT26w Anyway long story short I have finally picked it up today and I am loving driving again (funny because the BRZ was a really nice drivers car too). Just gave the car a nice interior groom with products the OCD boys use bt he weather is quite bad right now so will do a full polish job next weekend! Looking forward to being active in the forum again!

What a shame. Seems a waste to part it out when it was such a nice car. Made me a bit sad when I saw what it once was.

Very nice! Welcome back. I spoke to the old owner about the sale of this car the other week, I know it saddened him to move it on but he had enjoyed it to the fullest & like anything it was just time. Having had the opportunity to drive this car I'm sure you'll love it every time you look at it, just a beautiful example inside and out, especially on a good B road. By the way, if you want to be part of the Bimmersport community in Auckland, on Sundays the first of each month, we hold a BMW - coffee meet at Kyu's Cafe in Penrose 10.30am-12.30 ish, the specific address is 761 Great South Road, Penrose, Auckland Next one is this Sunday, 6th

What a terrible job, and what a terrible response from the 'manager'. How much did you pay for this?

The plastic caps on left and right sides of the radiator. Held in place by little ali tabs on the radiator core. Odds are you probably pressurised the cooling system when the head gasket sh*t itself, not enough to blow the rad apart but enough to create some little cracks. The plastic also degrades with heat cycles and age, becomes brittle and fails, leaving you on the side of the road surrounded by a big steamy puddle. Get a leak down test done, and replace the cooler before its too late.

I had this issue with one of my E30's, however in my case it was the radiator, (Head gasket had also been done before hand). Going up hills would result in the temp going over 1/2 way, i also replaced the fan clutch, thermostat etc first.

Find out what house he lives at, get some quick dry cement, turn his water off, then fill the toby box with the cement.

Agreed, but its a good brush, just too new really. On wood its fine, but it stands out in leather. You are always going to get some bristles out of any brush. The main point is, take them out physically or dry and sand, but most importantly, the heavy brush strokes really show out. To get to this quality you need to spray it really, but with such a low pressure spray the old school part of me just really want to get in there! Hence the brush work.

f**k that's shocking. Insurance policy usually have a lifetime repair guarantee, it has to be up to scratch by contract. My first port of call would be to talk to owner face to face and show him the shoddy work. Give him a chance to make it right. Failing co-operation I would be notifying my insurance provider and have their independent assessor view how sh*t their work is, ie prevent payment till done properly or elsewhere. That's a crock of sh*t Glenn, if you're not going to do the job well don't do it at all. Having met Mike a couple of times and knowing his work ethic i can say with certainty that he didn't request a half ass job. When accepting a request of work to be done it is expected that the job will be done, not half done, as his car is... If the final repair isn't up to standards take em to small claims.

Nice car. Good find. I kinda like those wheels as well.

Being a panel beater myself , that's some sh*t work, they may see it as " an old Toyota " or whatever. looks as if it's been done in the back yard of someone's house. Try get the probs resolved at another shop. Chances are if the original shop have to redo it, it won't get much better.

All I see is a job unprofessionally done by someone that dosen't give a f**k because they are on a sh*t pay scheme from an employer under pressure to do a job for 50c an hour with unqualified staff = most of Aucklands preferred insurance repairer's. All the professional repairers doing quality work won't do work for most of the dominant Insurance companies now
