Picked up this '09 X5 35d (210kw/600nm) last week in addition to the M3 as something more economical, spacious, and with tow capability. Really happy with the Alpine White with black leather interior, Motorsport trim, NZ New and with a full dealer service history. It also just had the brakes done and came with a spare set of rotors and pads that the previous owner imported. Getting about 800-900km to a tank which is a nice change after dailying an M3 for almost 3 years and I've already had it tinted by Car Folie of course and as usual very happy with their work! There are a few things I'd like to do still: -Gloss black kidney grilles -LED licence plate bulbs -Performance Pack aero kit -Tune -CIC iDrive upgrade or CCC SSD upgrade -Possibly black out side window trims -Gloss black roof spoiler wrap (toying with the idea)

Gavin just converted my E24 from factory ECU to a Link set-up, in preparation to pull and rebuild the motor. Now running wasted spark, AFM delete, sequential injection, with all new mil spec wiring loom. just want to say Gavin is a really nice guy, knows hist stuff, very fastidious and goes the extra mile. Will be going back later this year / early next to set up the new motor and performance tune. Highly recommend.

yeh na M3 can get anywhere from 300-500km to a $120~ tank Yeah that's diesel for sure. Tune takes it to 240-250kw and 700+nm! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haha yep Christian. This is being dailied now and unsure of what to do with the M3. Nice to have both so at this stage the M3 is staying. Still need to have the coilovers installed. Yeah the power is phenomenal for such a big car. The M50d and X5M must be crazy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How many kms per tank do you get in the e92? Seems counter-intuitive a giant truck gets such good millage, that's diesel I guess. Guess a baby will follow soon

when people ask me this (never for parking across two parks), I look them dead in the eyes and calmly reply "yes", with deadpan expression. Stops that line of questioning dead in its tracks.

Hi My experience is with the E36/7 Z3, which should be very similar to the 318ti. You will need a scanner that will talk to the ABS module. The ABS codes will not be found in the ECU. On the Z3 there is a ODB2 plug by the steering column that only talks to the ECU. If I want to talk to the ECU and other modules, I need to use the 20 pin round plug under the hood. Not sure what plugs you have on the 318ti but hope this avoids a trap for you. Secondary air injection/ pumps. I have an article that tells you how to test the secondary air system. Not sure how to attach a file to this post, so PM me an email address and I'll send it to you. Crank Case Ventilation (CCV) problems are the usual cause for crank case pressurisation and leaking valve cover gaskets. A couple of quick tests: 1) Test the hoses from CCV to manifold, with a cold engine, start it up and take the oil filler cap off. The engine should start to stumble as the mixture will be lean due to the CCV system drawing in lots of air. If you try this with a warm engine, you will hear a tone change and maybe a bit of a stumble. The warm engine will be on close loop fuel mixture control and will compensate for the extra air in the mixture by dumping more fuel into the mixture. 2) Check for a blocked oil return hose. Engine off. Carefully remove the CCV hose going to the valve cover (old hoses will crumble). Blow into the hose and listen for air bubble in the oil near the dip stick. I use a piece of garden hose to make it easier to blow into the CCV hose. Hope this helps Regards Murray

Hi Guys This is my first post so wanted to make it a good one I have succeeded in coding my E90 2006 330i BMW Japanese import idrive radio to NZ frequencies finally, and wanted to help others do the same.
