Hi All, I know this has been discussed before awhile back but i have hit a road block with my turbo manifold and wanted peoples opinion before i go and start spending $$$ So i managed to semi build myself an turbo manifold with individual runners but have run into issues on the collector end as i don't really have space for the wastegate unless i mount it on top of collector (which with my welder blowing a gas bottle, i need a new regulator + gas so that's about 350-400 i can put on that or someone else finishing my exhuast off) So check out pics attached and let me know your thoughts (Note i have a twin scroll turbo) 1. Go back to log style manifold (more space but likely wont support my power numbers i want) 2. Keep as is with bottom mount and have someone finish off the manifold 3. Keep same style but change to top mount (only issue is getting 2.5" outlet into two pipes, which i confirmed will just fit between last runner & firewall and 6/5) 4. Buy this and just get a 50mm flange installed - http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-M30-T4-Turbo-Manifold-E30-E32-E34-E28-E24-E23-E9-/131806544376 5. Or go with this guys idea (pictures at top and bottom of page) and make down pipes fit - http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=285809 I am personally leaning towards options 3/4/5 but i do like option 5 as i could probably do with materials i currently have and just tac together and get someone to finish off but noticed there is no wastegate (so don't know if space is there) So let me know what you think and if need be we will do a poll and go for it + anyone know any good fabricators in manwatu/welly region as i would prefer local rather than sending the car somewhere else in the country. Note: Topcat , BMWorld and other members have been awesome so far with info and i will be representing bimmersport once this is up and running (dreams)

Which shop has the torque plate? What cam are you going to use? Are you looking at getting the supertech springs to maybe save you if you money-shifting it or just performance? I'm sure the block will continue to have a great life

Dismantled the intake side of the engine which sadly is a m50b20tu block with m52b25 manifolds, injector rail, dme, maf etc. I think how we've ended up with this frankenstein fail motor is because the original m52 overheated, so an m50 block and head was installed in place. Engine numbers below confirm it's an m50 cast iron block : The head has an extra coolant temp sensor with no plug for it which according to realoem is the m50b20tu head. Got a wee shopping list of gaskets and hoses to fix some vacuum leaks. If it's easy enough we might just flash the m52b25 dme to become an m52b20 manual as there isn't really much difference between the engine setup we have and an actual m52b20. One day we'll empty the boot out.. We also need the Shifter arms from a 220 box e36 6cyl as the ones we have are from a 4cyl. If anyone can help us that would be awesome. Not too keen to shorten the ones we have as we want the manual conversion to look as factory as possible.

Thanks for the heads up Allan. Just added another E38 to the collection.. lol Bought it as another parts car. Pre facelift 750il with a lot of options. Black Nappa leather seats with picnic tables and vanity headrests, rear climate control, leather double stitched dash and center console. Will pick it up next weekend. Back to 4 again..lol

Spotted: 37+ E30s in a field in Taupo. Was an awesome sight to see at the inaugural E30 Mega Meet. May the next one be even better!!!

Hi People, If you thought your old TV tuner is obsolete, dont throw it away just yet! I have just modded my unit with the tuner adaptor card mod from this Site: Link. Straight forward mod really, the most "difficult" part was to solder 1x wire internally - not too tricky at all! (also depends on your current tuner type.. (see site)) there is plenty of info on the site regarding the mod and the types of units are best etc.. the tuner has a usb input so you can play video files etc and PVR function also. it works well with the steering wheel controls, and the ibus adaptor has integrated the std monitor buttons to do all the required tuner functions, which takes a bit to get your head around but once its set, you dont have to play with much apart from the channel up / down... the definition isn't exactly perfect but its stepped down to basic old RGB 7 inch screen stuff so dont expect too much... see attached works ok at speed, but suffers as any TV tuner would going in and out of good coverage.. depends on your location of course.. Any Questions, just ask..

Its useless to me because i dont have anything with a tuner in it atm, i just wanted to post up and say thanks for doing the research and sharing it on here. This sort of thing is what the forum should be about. Thanks!

The local murrays want their land back and in the process demolishing the building so I have to downscale on a few things, princess was at the end of her life anyway. But parts of her will live on. A friend wanted the roof for his own E28 project, so the roof was removed. She was then flipped on her side for removal of the diff and engine/gearbox. Is anyone looking for a V12 auto box? Princess is now a husk, pushed into the bushes with a bobcat and waiting for the scrappy to come pick her up. It was fun while it lasted. I think I had just as much fun building her as I did destroying her.

I'm not even going to ask what you do for work,, it has to be 1 of 2 things if you head to Panguru for work.. I can't think of a better use for princess.. hook some bloody headlights up.. its probably had many a drunken race home from the pub at 1am, with no headlights on driving on the wrong side of the road up in the far north, with 15 drunk hori's in the front, back, boot, roof and still survived.. Polley has his first drive and crashes through a gate hahaha. Top work polley enjoy seeing your progress.

I've only recently moved the car into the shed, so it's been very slow. Removed the windscreen the hard way. Removed the steering column and started adapting that so it'll take the weld on steering wheel adapter. And i've started fitting up the euro m3 headers. Once I get some stuff finished i'll add some photos and hopefully a worthwhile update. I'm currently distracting myself with helping rebuild a toyota 4k motor
