Speak for yourself! We had 50mm here last night... which more than doubled the amount we've had in the last 3 months! The roads were so slippery, I had "sustained loss of traction", in my 72 Beetle - they're like a 911 or E30 - once the back is loose, DO NOT button off, or it's all over!

When I worked at a BMW dealership, well before the internet & cheap copies were available, they wouldn't well M badges etc, unless you could prove you had a M car

Finally after all my years of waiting I`ve got myself a post `00 M5.(build date 05/01) Fresh Bilstein with a Tubi exhaust system. A few cosmetic items to sort out then it`s of to OCD for its makeover Le Mans Blau with all the facelift options available. Though there were no major mechanical alterations to the E39 M5 during its entire production run, there were a number of equipment alterations that appeared with the 2001 model-year M5 (from 9/00 production). These include:-Revised headlight design incorporating illuminated "Corona" rings -Revised tallight design-Park Distance Control sensors in the front bumper (previously in rear only)-Thicker three-spoke M steering wheel identical to the one fitted to the E46 M3-Grey instrument faces -Solar sensor for standard automatic climate control-Revised navigation/audio unit with larger (6.5-inch) monitor-Rear head protection airbags added-Second-generation M Mobility tire repair system in place of earlier version-Available M Audio System with special tweeters, Kevlar/carbon coaxial speakers and two subwoofers behind the rear console-Alcantara headliner included with Extended Leather interior (previously only included with Complete Leather)

I often wanted to convert my E36 to manual but the cost and the desire for an E46 stopped me. Sad fact is the price of a conversion is due to the old supply and demand factor. High demand low supply; sellers market. If the Japs actually drove manuals then perhaps that would be different.

No worries and, yes I should have added that I meant sea freight. I thought You Shop offered sea also but perhaps not. Kiwi Shipping (Mainfreight) screwed up once for me but made it right without argument and have been fine subsequently.

Just bought my first BMW a couple of weeks ago, best decision I've ever made, So much fun! Had a Diesel TT i brought from the UK, so the 135i is definitely a step up! Was my friend who got me looking at them and so glad he did! Probably won't be doing too many mods, got some gloss black grills on the way, and maybe a remap in the future but the power difference compared to the TT is definitely enough to keep me happy for a long time before I need more!

I..... errrrr...... bloody kerbed a wheel. arghhhhh! Oh well, in to get repaired next week I reckon. Wet conditions, not used to pulling in to three empty parallel parks, in a rush... bam. Never in my life have I done that before - steels or alloys. And an RF lamp warning indicator came up. So I checked it out, got the RF side light working again... and the warning came back. Found my high beam plug disconnected, reconnected it, and all going sweet. Net cost: Nil. Nada. Zilch. Still recovering from grinding my lovely rim against the kerb. Wow.

Righto, Taranaki to ChCh, sweet run down and 12l per 100ks running so far, includes some vigorous driving of the ChCh locals at around 17l/100. Run down south and then home next week ..... This thing kills fast open road driving, although over vigorous cornering ends in under steer which isn't surprising at its weight and fat V10 hanging out front but (relatively) ease into the corner and smash it out, never fails to deliver astonishing exit speed and makes up for it, racking through the paddle changes Got a sweet drive in my mates 2013 C63 yesterday, fastest bloody beast I've ever been in, frankly the S8 feels a bit pedestrian after this. gives you a bloody nose and a dash of whip lash just for a lark. Mental, oh and he averages 20l/100ks of our best 98.
