Hi My names John and I purchased this Oxford Green 1999 M5 about a month ago. There were some posts on this car over Xmas and in Jan. Just letting you know it has gone to a good home. I am really enjoying driving it. Trying to only drive in the weekends but just can't help taking it for the occasional mid week evening drive. Hyperdrive.co.nz, which generally has the worst prices ever, has a decent special on currently - buy 4 tyres get one free. So I've just ordered a full set of PS4 including fitting + balancing for $1347.

Have my wife's E46 for sale. $2800 for bimmersporters. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1265817281 Auto sedan, well looked after. I've had it for over 2 years, and replaced: -Radiator, -Thermostat -New shocks all round -Front lower control arms -Oil filter housing gasket -AC leak fixed and regassed -Transmission fluid and filter replaced. Basically everything that needs replacing in a 200,000km+ E46 Has a small dent on the rear guard

Four of my favorites from my collection happen to have been born in 2001. E39 M5, E46 M3, Z3 M Coupe and X5 4.6is

After selling the E91 and driving the E39 for a while I felt like I needed something a bit newer again and had my sights set on a 135i coupe, looking for the perfect one to pop up. But it was always either not quite right and or a bit too expensive. Then I stumbled across this E87 130i hatchback 2010 automatic and couldn't say no to the lovely 6 cylinder engine so pulled the trigger. Picked it up completely stock and have already started the mods like new wheels (Work Japan 18x8.5), debadged and black grilles etc. Huge list of things I want to do on it but so far very happy with the car and will be replacing the E39 as my daily.

Howdy, I thought I would share my E60 M5 and maybe some shots of my 130i as well. I picked it up late November last year, it's a 2006 with 70k on the clock. Black on black with a light wood trim which I am not sure is factory spec but I think looks kinda cool, lowered on H&Rs but otherwise stock. My last car was a modified Mercedes E55 which was easily more powerful than the M5 and was a truly stupid car to drive. The M5 is on totally different level dynamically though, there is no contest between the two and I am pretty happy with the swap. The only things I miss from the E55 is the wow factor from having 800NM of torque; taking people for a ride would generally result in wide open mouths or snapped necks, and the deep V8 muscle car exhaust tone. The M5 still has great torque and truly epic pull in the upper rev ranges. The only big negatives with the car are the gearbox at low speed, which I have learned to work with, and the horrendous fuel consumption in city driving. Seriously, it's worse than the E55. No plans for mods apart from changing out the mufflers. I don't think it needs more power for our roads. So far I have: Had the dealer replace a faulty ionic current module. Removed the black plastidip that the dealer put on. Replaced the front and rear windscreen rubbers which were stuffed. Stage 3 clean and restore by OCD. Headlight restore by OC - Amazing results as they were very degraded and are now near new. Replaced engine air filters. Replaced cabin air filters. And to do: Either recondition the wheels as some of the paint came off with the plastidip or get new wheels. Replace the factory mufflers, thinking of banging in some flow masters. Here's some pics: These were taken after OCD treatment: This was it before: We also have a 130i that we bought at 25km a few years ago and is up to 70km now. We have only had one fault, the DSC pump failing which we had reconditioned at a fraction of the cost of a new pump. Other than that it has been a very reliable and enjoyable car for us. It's an 07 in white with brown leather and I really like the colour combo. I might get some photos up of my TT Legacy as well, but it's currently sitting neglected in my garage while I drive the M5.

Something you will learn quickly with a BMW, is that unless its a basic oil change, taking it to your "local" isnt always a good idea. A good independent BMW specialist is the way to go. It may cost more in the hourly rate, but itll make up for it with a more accurate diagnosis and knowledge.

Stories like this always make me uneasy. Who's business is it what the margin is on the key? Trying to control what people can and can't charge or earn off a product...

Welcome! Was tempted with this one myself so its great to hear its gone to a good home. I had my first E39 M5 drive recently - what a fantastic machine! I'm sure the 'wow factor' will never fade every time you drive it!

The 3 X5,s I drove were very good as far as SUV,s go, better than my Highlander, but only marginally better than a Ford Territory. My Highlander would hose the 6 cylinder petrol e53 sixes in a straight line. All this is academic as a 5 series will accelerate more quickly (same engines) and be quicker through the corners. A sprint across the Rimutakas or Paihiatua track in an X5 will no longer be a fun driving experience it would be in a 5 series.

i bought my e70 3d Msport with 20ks on the clock and have kept a record of the servicing to date incl replacement of tyres etc. it has gone through 2 sets of tyres and 2x changes of brakes (rotors & pads) All servicing done at Auckland City BMW with 1x brake change at BM Workshop as BMW could not fit me in. Cost to date for the last 6 years has come to $10,500. its an awesome truck that i will probably drive to the ground, albeit being tempted a number of times to upgrade to the new F15! Just cant justify the depreciation and the fact that its never let us down!

Finally got all the lines and wiring and tank compressor stuff finished. Boot needs a few more things to finish it off, BUT we have the car sitting on the tyres, might need to go for a lower profile... Fronts will be chucked in tomorrow and then system test on Friday Oh and we have a matching tool box
