Hey everyone Managed to get some time this afternoon to get some more cleaning done. A lot of elbow grease to get them pistons looking shiny. By the last piston i had managed to get it cleaned in 15mins compared to my 1st one which i think took 45mins. Gave the crank a light scrub and the end caps. Just have the main bearing caps left to do.

After a twice round Nth Island in a month with the car, it performed perfectly. Amazingly. Great to get on the open roads and mix it up with the locals and other fast Euro cars, new RS6's, new M4s and give them a taste of the 1M. While moving away from E85 stations, I tried octane boosters in the fuel tank. While it worked for the engine, it was bad on my health, the stench and irritation with fumes coming back into the car with windows down was surprisingly bad. Anyways, car cleaned, LED lights installed into the cabin, external LEDs installed and coded and Blackline tail lights installed. The rear 275's wear showing minimal tread depth, time to try something a more chunky. Enter 295/30/19 Conti Sport Contacts. 2.3% less circumference, meaning it'll be like changing the diff ratio from the 3.15 it is now to a 3.22. The tire fits, but its getting tight. Could potentially do a 305. Its on a 10" wide rear rim, so fits the rim better than the 275 did for sure. The extra width should help with grip. Still waiting impatiently for some other parts to turn up for the fuelling upgrades, but not a show stopper for now.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1350621157 $24K 62KMs "The PPK option increases the power output to 240kw (up 15kw from standard) and torque to 450Nm (up 50Nm), available from 1,500rpm. 0-100 times are also decreased. It also adds a nice burble to the exhaust on over-run (fantastic sound when in sport or using the paddles). The upgrade includes a software reflash to reduce lag and shift times; a second radiator; new intake; uprated cooling fan; and oil cooler. This vehicle was also optioned with the uprated BMW Performance yellow brembo big-brake kit, suspension, silver decal and badging, carbon fibre spoiler and interior trim - and coolest of all, white LED lighting pack (including halos)." Did wonder if this was John @e30ftw but TradeMe member ref appears different ... Looks like an awesome vehicle - some of the pics are very nicely done too

This is the same money I paid for mine 2 years ago, but this one has the soft close doors. I have to close my doors myself like some kind of peasant!!!

True that. I just have a thing for Euro wagons. Err tourings.

I'm attempting to build a E36 compact into a budget gravel rally car. I had an AW11 Mr2 'sort-of' track-car previously, but it was hardly used due to track day costs and I thought it was time to move on to something a bit different. I've never rallied before, I've always wanted to, I just didn't think i have the balls to. Time to find out! The plan is to start by doing grasskhanas and autocrosses, and once I get a cage in start doing gravel sprints. Car will mostly be stock (at the start at least) to get the hang of things and grow confidence in a slow car. Picked up an automatic 1999 318Ti for under $1k, and all it needed for a WoF was some tyres, a few bulbs, and to clear the ABS light. About a week after I got it, it was already time to try it out on grass, by doing the HCMC grasskhana in Massey. The ABS light came back on just before the event (looks like pump motor/electronics), so conveniently the ASC and ABS were disabled during the event. Even though it was still auto with a single spinner, I had a blast throwing it around the dirt. Looks like the project is a go.

I've been a lurker here for years and owned a fair few BMWs, but nothing really worth showing anyone. Just this week I swapped my E39 540i for this NZ new 328i manual in Boston green, in albeit tatty condition As you can see it is a bit of a project to tidy up. The drivers door card was held on with some cable ties due to the top plastic support shattering, the driver's seat has a small hole appearing in the outer bolsters and the gearknob and steering wheel leather is typically worn through Mechanically it is mostly sound. 90% of the supesension is replaced, new shocks and most of the nushes done with Nolothane (black) The clutch has been done recently also It needs new top hats in the front, so OEM M3 ones will be going in I plan to keep it kind of stock and tidy it up and do a few little track days for a giggle I have already repaired the door card well enough to stop it flapping around but am going to replace it because there are screw holes. I have removed both front seats and fixed a non operational front-back passenger motor Fixed a wiring fault on the driver's pre-tensioner Fixed a non working passenger window and put new clips in the door and re-glued the inner plastic reinforcements back on properly The first thing I will tackle in the near future under the hood is a full cooling system overhaul Later down the track I will be installing an SC14 with PWR water to air and a water meth kit, I have already got this all mounted on my spare m52, I did the mounts myself as it's easy enough, it works with either m50 or m52 manifolds, with the small frame size PWR cooler sitting under the manifold This post was too long, sorry chaps

Hello, Yes I can code new keys to CAS+ Modules.

They all site higher on the left, they are engineered that way as a left hand drive car. Every single one I have measured sits higher on the left.

Had a nice girl from SCA tell me quietly a better place to go for parts - said she used to get parts way cheaper from this other place for her 328 - made her instantly hotter

Just finnished unloading my e30 after a weekend in taupo, while im sitting down relaxing for a few moments. VID (vehicle imports direct) held a 2 day invite only day drifting track 3 and 2 at taupo, ive been part of the crew for this drift season so i took the e30 down. I got a wheel align on thursday with my new arms, e36 hubs ect. Everything worked out pretty damn good, the car handles like a nissan now when its sliding which is good as it was pretty average to use the last time i took it to taupo.

Finally got round to taking it for a decent drive this weekend, car has been faultless. I do have some handling upgrades in mind though after driving it a bit more recently. Will be upgrading the rear swaybar first of all, going with the H&R 20mm bar and have also ordered a whole set of M3 front control arms in hope of getting more feedback from the front end as well as to try improve the turn in a bit. An LSD will be the next thing I explore but that'll be later down the track. Snapped a better pic of it with the blackline LCI'sat Hobsonville. P.s. whoever designed these factory runflats should be out of a job. They're horrendously harsh. Cannot wait to get rid of them

Cor blimey. Got the heater pipes which sit under the intake manifold out this evening- I knew they were poked, but the gunk inside was horrific. How all these aging M54's are all still on the road is beyond me.

#1 - tweety birds #2 - road noise, sounds like a big truck #3 - some sort of electrickery valve opening/closing?

It's the XR80, it's installed in the ash tray which is pretty cool, there is a receiver in the drivers side lower slot by the fog light and one attached on the boot lid above the plate. Must have been something Audi offered here on NZ new sales at the time as I've seen a few RS and Ss with same setup. 2006 vintage but still pretty sharp. long distance K radar for car units seems excellent. Interested how the Uniden will compare in the E38.

Talking of porkers, perhaps the 1M needs to go more J Lo?> Some steel over-fenders that I had made up recently, fronts also. RIP Kirsty Webb, thanks for the memories and mud on the car xxoo

For e46 I did alot of research and for a fast road car I settled on this; Front; Max camber, zero toe, max castor. Rear; -2 camber rear total (-1 each side), really small amount of toe in. I found this made a good improvement. Also, I can recommend Autolign in Mt Wellington. Edited to say, remove the locating pins on top of the strut tower with a pair of pliers or vicegrips. This give you more camber adjustability.
