I have an Escort Passport 9500ci. I purchased it off ebay around 5 years ago as it was half the price of buying it NZ. It was an American programmed one the only difference being that it wasn't pre-loaded with NZ speed camera sites. The performance on these radars is phenomenal. Loads of warning and jamming capability is outstanding. I have owned other radars in the past such as the bel sti and the v1. One of which got stolen which is why I didn't bother to go window mount again. The passport is hands down way better than both in my opinion. Worth every cent.

Hi all, In my recently purchased 530d, the centre cup holder worked once, and on pushing it back in, there was a crunching sound, and the unit would not go all the way in. Looking online (Dr Google and YouTube) it appeared that the E60 cup holder could not be repaired. Well, after purchasing a second hand unit, I decided to try and see if I could repair the original. YouTube shows repairs on the E90 cup holder model. The E60 has little plastic welds that needed to be released, trimmed or suchlike, so as to release the cover. I ended up using my 'jewellers screwdriver' set and an ordinary, very small bladed screwdriver. In my case the spring had come free as the small plastic rod? that holds the spring, had broken off. Shades of what happens to the 3 series ones. I used the same principle to fix my one as shown for the 3 series/E90, a small cable tie was used to lock the spring tab in place. Hey presto, it works again! I will try and get some pictures up to show what I did. Could have saved myself $105.00 had I known this repair was possible. At least I have a spare unit if the original should ever fail terminally! I need to work out how to put a video on YouTube showing what I did, stating that the E60 cup holder CAN be repaired, rather than coughing out close to $200 for a new one, or $105 for a secondhand one like I did! This is the same money I paid for mine 2 years ago, but this one has the soft close doors. I have to close my doors myself like some kind of peasant!!!

I've been a lurker here for years and owned a fair few BMWs, but nothing really worth showing anyone. Just this week I swapped my E39 540i for this NZ new 328i manual in Boston green, in albeit tatty condition As you can see it is a bit of a project to tidy up. The drivers door card was held on with some cable ties due to the top plastic support shattering, the driver's seat has a small hole appearing in the outer bolsters and the gearknob and steering wheel leather is typically worn through Mechanically it is mostly sound. 90% of the supesension is replaced, new shocks and most of the nushes done with Nolothane (black) The clutch has been done recently also It needs new top hats in the front, so OEM M3 ones will be going in I plan to keep it kind of stock and tidy it up and do a few little track days for a giggle I have already repaired the door card well enough to stop it flapping around but am going to replace it because there are screw holes. I have removed both front seats and fixed a non operational front-back passenger motor Fixed a wiring fault on the driver's pre-tensioner Fixed a non working passenger window and put new clips in the door and re-glued the inner plastic reinforcements back on properly The first thing I will tackle in the near future under the hood is a full cooling system overhaul Later down the track I will be installing an SC14 with PWR water to air and a water meth kit, I have already got this all mounted on my spare m52, I did the mounts myself as it's easy enough, it works with either m50 or m52 manifolds, with the small frame size PWR cooler sitting under the manifold This post was too long, sorry chaps

Hey! Thought that instead of just waving and smiling at other BMW drivers I'd come here and meet some! Some wicked older models in here!? Pics are a mix of purchase day and now, since re-plated haha.

This may be true, but those buyers were never looking at M cars, V10s, V8s or anything interesting in the first place. Most of them already drive Toyota's and their idea of going green is by selling their Camry V6 for a Prius. Only to end up having a sadder, reduced quality of life to save pocket change at the pump.

75% off NZ prices is not actually so crazy in my experience...

Ahh that's the crowd that Supercheap tried to refer me to, said by VINZ but also said "Resene" so I went to Resene Will give them a go when I'm back from Oz, much easier than going to Wellington!

Find your self a bmw parts catalogue site www bmw fans or Realoem.com. Place the last 7 digits of your vin number in the vin decode box and click it this will bring up the parts that were fitted to that car. From the various sections shown choose the one you want and it will give you all the part numbers for the various items you need. From that you can check these number to see if they are combat able. Armed with the numbers you could try Milland premium euro parts or go to the Pelican parts site and enter the part numbers their It opens up the page that those are logged in plus all the various brands they hold. Also which ones are genuine or oem and the price in US dollars. A bit long winded explain sorry but have found 10 -20 minutes research can save you a whole lot of pain and a light wallet best of luck

$160 incl freight for a pair of rotors and pads, by Mintex? That sounds more like the consumable pricing they should wear, than the 'max out you credit cards, "honey we're going on the Kraft Dinner diet again" plan' that you get with parts prices here. hope they work out well. Got em on already (to be sure)?

I've been eyeing up the pilot sport 4s or RE-003's as replacements. Will see what my mate can do price wise. Yep just running the mhd stage 1 tune at the moment, will add more go fast bits once i've got it handling the way I want. It's more then enough for what the car is used for at the moment. The Type R has spoilt me when it comes to handling so will be spending a bit of time getting it right, plenty of room for improvement on these. Almost mistook the rear swaybar for a noodle.

(Slightly off-topic) Man do I have an opportunity for you! Advance directly to go with your own 70-200 2.8 VR lens. Mine's looking for a new home ?. $1450 back in topic - it'd be awesome. Though my wife has asked how often I'm filling up the e60... an M5 would blow her mind ?

They all site higher on the left, they are engineered that way as a left hand drive car. Every single one I have measured sits higher on the left.

Just finnished unloading my e30 after a weekend in taupo, while im sitting down relaxing for a few moments. VID (vehicle imports direct) held a 2 day invite only day drifting track 3 and 2 at taupo, ive been part of the crew for this drift season so i took the e30 down. I got a wheel align on thursday with my new arms, e36 hubs ect. Everything worked out pretty damn good, the car handles like a nissan now when its sliding which is good as it was pretty average to use the last time i took it to taupo.

Admire your great attention to detail. If you need advice or a repair kit for the subframe cracks give us a call.We had 40 kits of our own design made about 2 1/2 years ago and have 5 left. That means there are 35 E46`s out there with or reinforcement without any problems.

i agree, finding a guid has been tough, i have done hours and hours of research over the past month. E36 compact rear end including Calipers. easy. Front needs to be either all E30 M3 setup, OR: E36 M3 evo (1995+) - arms, offset bushes, hubs, shock assembly E36 any - wheel bearings and hubs (all the same part number) E30 51mm or E36 springs E30 Top hat, some will also fit the E90 upper spring purch which drops the car a little bit more. E36 M3 or E46 330i calipers and disks. I am having some custom made coilovers done which are essentailly the E36 M3 unit with an E30 top hat, if you are spending all this money and has to be certed any way, might as well go adjustable coilovers as well imho. some cheap skates will use other parts or non-M parts like non-m e36 hubs, e46 arms, e36 upper mounts etc which all messes with suspension geometry. just because something bolts up doesnt mean its right, flat peaks dont seem to understand this what effects track width and caster etc have on a car and wonder why an E30 on stock suspension can out handle thier setup. hope this helps
