Finally after a long grueling process the v8 has passed all its checks and the cert plate has been ordered. So excited to finally have this car almost completed, unfortunately not early enough to be ready for mega meet. But bring on the summer cruising!

in e30 land, 325i has bigger rotors than 320i, and fatter ARBs to boot. The 320i was the heavier than the 318i, less economical, and lacked the flair of it's atheletic bigger brother (the 325i).

A lot of it was small but annoying things like bolts not long enough. Having to remove the carpet to see the drive shaft hoops after previously taking them too him, not enough clearanace from the alternator, needed to replace some of the factory nuts with locking nuts. major parts were making new rear section of exhaust, correcting bump steer ( having custom adjustable rack ends made, rh exhaust mani was leaking. But its done now. So stoked to see the light at the end of the tunnel and to be able to drive it.

Talk to Joe @ Euro Surgeon. When i was last talking to him, he was not overly impressed with Dynavin for reliability. Not sure what he has.

Sorry wording wasn't the best. What i was trying to say if an average person looked at both engines in the car they would think they were the same. Sure there was a thread recently discussing the chain setup. Look at a M60 and M62 timing diagram on Realoem etc and its pretty obvious. Basic summary: M60: Duplex chain with idler sprocket between banks M62: Single row chain with plastic chain guide between banks. This was done supposedly done to reduce weight (lol) make it cheaper to produce (yep im sure) and allow room for vanos solenoids. The M62 has it advantages but imo the M60 is BMW's most reliable V8 engine, esp in the E32\E34 body. M62 CCV setup is better which can be swapped in.

I bet she wasn't impressed. I've looked at that link before, didn't inspire confidence. I've ordered four mitsubishi MN184312 to test. Found them for $27USD including shipping to here from Japan. Will let you know how it goes whenever they get here. EDIT: Ordered mine from here: https://www.amayama.com/en/part/mitsubishi/mn184312

http://www.brazeauracing.com/bbscenters.htm ^ this will work for you since you are looking for the inner part to suit the BBS RC without the cover plate thing. I know I need 70/64 type C but they are bloody expensive. I might work something out DIY.. you can imagine the look on the missus' face when I asked if I can buy 4x plastic bits for $200nzd. me : her:

Well the swaybars, bushes, arms, ball joints and steering box have been done. While the wheels were off I cleaned them...........all the brake dust staining is gone........then I waxed them with wheel wax, lets see how easy they are to clean next time. While I still have to replace all the shocks, spring rubbers, mounts etc I have to say the car does feel a lot tighter and with the M5 steering box upgrade it feels as direct as the 530i M/sport, this has to be one of the best additions yet. The car is flatter in corners but not quite as harsh riding as the e39 530 m/sport, it will be interesting to see what it is like once all the shocks are replaced.
