Yes im still alive, apologizes to a few Kinda well over trying to help and inform due to the crap you get in return but thought this was worth a mention. As many would know and ive learnt the hard way when you cook a M54 that equals dead engine and stripped head stud holes. So ive done this a few times and works well and yes you could buy a lower temp one from VAC but hey wheres the fun in that, so for the DIY heres mine. Remove the old setup and use a carbide burr to remove all high spots to give a uniform finish and dia hole, can be done if your savvy with a die grinder. Once done purchase a thermostat as pictures, i remove the larger bottom plate from the old setup and open the center hole then a few spots of MIG its good to go and the correct install height ( yes i blew a small hole in it ) Now i understand not everyone has the gear i have but i turned up a ally ring to suit the housing and a step to match the new thermostat, i then peen the ally over to retain the new thermostat. Next is use some silicone to retain it in place with a slight press fit, it can't go anywhere as once bolted up its retained, i also drill a small bleed hole to help bleed the system. This is now set to 82 deg rather the 97 stock, some say its too cold but rather that than a new motor also your gauge wont show too much different but a scan tool shows another story. PS: yes the V10 is done and in the hole and no i wont show progress or pics as well over the crap from the key board experts. And those being OCD most welcome to correct my grammar

Sold the 328 and spent the rest of the day crying in my x5.

Damn knees. Who thought they were important FFS. Some leave days are booked this month to get the guts back in the body and pumping promise.

As Andy said they are much a much rarer car than a 328. From a cost point the M44 is less problematic and cheaper to run than M52's while being nicer to work on

I can't help but think your camber and toe are both out by a few degrees. Just a smidgen.

Hope you all have a great holiday break and enjoy the festive season without too much drama. Botany Motor Worx Ltd will be closed from 12.01pm on Friday the 22nd of December till Monday the 15th of January. And before all the fake news and rumours start, Botany Motor Works Ltd will stop trading as a motor vehicle repair facility as of the 28th of February 2018. Botany Motor Worx Ltd is not in a financial situation and all commitments and financial commitments will be met on or before the 30th February 2018 I've had enough and I'm going fishing, but I do have a phone and am still available for advice and help to the many friends I have made here over the years.

Having owned plenty of 4 and 6 cyl e36s I can say none are hard to work on. But I've had far less issues with m50/2 engines with higher km That and the m44 are lacking massively in power. Would like to see the numbers on how many nz new 328 msport optioned cars were sold vs the iS That being said I still want a proper 318iS, so logic is all out the window

I originally was looking at buying this Fiji green last year, but ended up buying my E34.

Meh, quick test fit with subframe out. Its a snug fit without being tight anywhere. Probably 15mm the closest to anything, so decent heat dissipation. I'm not expecting much lag. I'm planning to push the refreshed stock block and see where we get to. I'm thinking around abouts like this one, which has the same sized hairdrier; The turbo size aint too far different from my little 2 litre 4 banger in my Mk 1 Celica...

Couple of days for decent wheel cleaning, full car decontamination, machine polished and sealer on. Pleased with the results. Colour pops really nicely now Usual new car replacements of fluids and filters, air and cabin complete. Hardwired detector in also. CIC sorted and music loaded to the HDD. Bosses plates on, Ready for service thinking of a rear roof spoiler to close it off ..

A few little cosmetic projects on the go with MTOY at the moment. I stripped and repainted the wing struts last week in prep for a rally and dialled in another few degrees on the wing. Added some subtle decals underneath to match the front . 5 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr 1 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr 6 by Christian Taylor, on Flickr I've had this Strassentech-style front splitter that I bought from Greg way back in 2012, a mate drove my car shortly after I'd fitted it and hocked a curb. It's been gathering dust in my garage ever since waiting me to get my a-into-g. I repaired it today, currently painting. Check out the split..! Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Untitled by Christian Taylor, on Flickr Few more layers before clear, then polish, refine & paint protection film application to match my other lip. I've got some struts on order that'll fit in nicely on this front; my goal is to have it swap-able relatively easily (like the boot). Chances are I'll just keep the carbon one-piece lip for when I fess up for another bumper cover in the future.

My estimate is around standard minus a few tens of kgs, say 1475 kg. A bit of a porker still. Apart from getting rid of 'bits' that are not deemed necessary, carbon boot and the mods done, some of which may add a little weight, some further work is to come, Have some further weight reducers approaching, titanium wheel stud & nut conversion (2 weeks time) and a lithium battery, should drop about 25kg https://ozmoengineering.com/product/bmw-m12x1-5-studlugnut-kit/ Battery brand tba Maybe seats in the future, but havent found something streetable that fits me, 6"3 and 105kg. A bit of a porker still.
