Gotta say. I really like driving this car. I've gotten used to the big V12 and do enjoy driving that but theres something to be said for being able to really throw this little E36 around the corners. Been having a blast driving it around..lol

You’d hope not, the basket filters should be catching any crud the fuel line filter doesn’t.

When you clean them is it obvious that there’s anything in them? Do any deposits or the like come out?

Any half decent machine shop should be able to drill the holes out perfectly, you would need to be happy that it won't compromise tbe strength of the wheels doing so.

Hi All, I'm a long time BMW fan, own a few 2002's (all early seventies). Had an E30, E28 big six and V8 E39 in the past. Cheers

Do you need a double-DIN slot for this to fit into? Looks a lot larger than the CD player I have in the E46, from the front shot anyways, back of it looks the same..

Hey Team Sorry sort of a non related topic but had to share this. The Team at Hartley Engines & Motorsport have finished this work of art for one of their clients. These guys are using the ITB set up as a template for my set up, just love the sound and am hoping mine to sound as awesome as this beast. Enjoy http://www.driven.co.nz/news/motorsport/jaron-olivecrona-reveals-hartley-engineering-built-v12-weapon/

CBF started its own thread so here’s a big poat, picked up another members silver 540i MSport with a damaged engine off trademe a couple weeks ago, this weekend I got both cars out to my parents farm and pulled both m62s from the silver 540i (chain slipped) and my old black 540i (electric issues) and swapped the good engine into into the silver body. Cleaned it up and reassembled the interior whenever it rained and after refilling fluids etc I managed to drive it home today! Safe to say my hands are f****d but we’ll worth the effort and experience! New tyres tomorrow and need to figure out how to get the OEM Head unit going again next. Pics:

Try heading to Martinborough then out via Longbush road to Gladstone, then on to TeWhiti Rd and then turn off onto Masterton Stronvar Rd. When you get to Westmare road you can go north and head to Castlepoint or south and loop back to Gladstone and have lunch at the Gladstone pub.

Hello all, I happened to come back to the side of car ownership after nearly a year without(the joys of company cars). Saw this gem of a 740il on a Facebook for sale page and after realising what wheels were on it, I knew I had to have it. Booked in a viewing for the Saturday and took it away that afternoon. Unfortunately the registration has lapsed so the car needed need recompliance before it was ready for summer cruising. It's now re-registered and road legal. New battery and wheels fitted. Brake fluid and coolant done. Brake rotors and pads all round. Yet to do: Oil service Cut and polish Interior clean Rear tyres Bonnet struts Centre caps for wheels A/C regas Paintless dent removal It drives so nicely for a car with over 200km's! New wheels

The wheels in photo one suit the car far better than the ones in photo two.

This was my car, i restored it and i put the tyres on it and they are not $50.00 tyres. Ron, not all good tyres are the expensive items you appear to like, there are some excellent tyres out there for very reasonable money. The car was never going to be driven hard or for that matter on a race track. The new owner wanted something reasonable for sedate driving because the car was going to be a garage queen. Alas he sold it to this crowd who are just trying to make a large profit for nothing. If i had kept the car it would now be wearing Bridgestones. It's an ok car but it's not 105k, maybe $70 to $75k and i believe the current bid is BS.

whats wrong with the hankooks? they are not the lowest spec, its actually the Ventus V8 RS (H424) Its not Michelin PS4 or Continental CPC5 but its definitely no linglong

When you're buying a car like this the tyres are so inconsequential that it's not worth wasting any internet over.

Here it is running some other wheels, Commodore Clubsport 17x8 ET35 wheels, and BBS DTM 18x8.5 ET13 wheels. Got the BBS wheels running but rear would rub under hard cornering and I got fed up with the smell of burning rubber everytime I left a carpark. It's now on M-Parallel replicas, 18x8.5 ET30, rub-free driving finally!

Having owned plenty of 4 and 6 cyl e36s I can say none are hard to work on. But I've had far less issues with m50/2 engines with higher km That and the m44 are lacking massively in power. Would like to see the numbers on how many nz new 328 msport optioned cars were sold vs the iS That being said I still want a proper 318iS, so logic is all out the window

Of course only 1 litre goes in the engine. The other four go on my driveway.
