I've labeled the wires that go into the amp from the mute box, they are the same colour as the ones that attach to the cut off wires that originally go into the amp. I should add, they didn't piggyback, they cut the wires and directed them to the mute box and then back out to the amp. They are in pairs: The unit's white and white/black stripe wires go to: yellow/red stripe and yellow/brown stripe The unit's green and green/black stripe go to: yellow/purple stripe and yellow/gray stripe The unit's purple and purple/black stripe go to: blue/purple stripe and blue/tan stripe The unit's grey and grey/black stripe go to: turquoise/red stripe and turquoise/brown stripe I've sellotaped the colour codes to the wires as well (the ones that go back into the amp). Then the red fused wire to the unit (the mute box) piggybacks to the thick red/green wire going into the amp (same group plug as the other wires) The black wire (with the metal crimp connection) going into the unit (mute box) piggybacks onto the thick brown wire going into the amp (in the same group plug again) If you can't figure out where to connect the blue fused wire let me know and I will get in under the CD stacker and see what it connects to. All the best for wiring it up!

It's not so bad, but it's messy as anything. Plan on lots of rags...

Do you mind reporting in on how much 20L costs?

Just did my E39 with Penrite FS. Used 10L total with a 2nd drain after the filter change. Removing trans cooler lines looks a pita on E39 and something would probably break in the process.

my 2002 e46 325i trans was fully rebuilt, they refilled it with Penrite full synthetic (it as 8L for a full fill from dry) ATF F5. It's still running nicely - and shifting really smoothly - since Jan 2013, around 60k kms... oh, nearly time for a precautionary change! You should be able to source it in 20L barrel or enviro-box... as you're doing two, may pay off in bulk-buy saving. http://penriteoil.com.au/products/atf-fs-full-syn You might consider doing a drain and fill, running it for 500-1000kms, then doing the full drain, pan clean, filter replacement etc, and refill... there are pros and cons, and plenty of opinions. Other option (which I did for my Volvo: the home driveway 'power change' ... draining 1.9L each time via the outlet pipe from the trans into the cooler, shutting off, replenishing with fresh fluid, re-starting, running through the gears, then draining out another 1.9L, rinse and repeat until nice raspberry coloured fluid came out again (14L DEXIII in total). Worked well. HTH. EDIT - I see REPCO advertising Oil Bonanza (50% off) this weekend. Let them buy your business! Read the fine print - it's probably *not* restricted to store stock.

No news. But maybe that's good news? They've not said 'no'!

That's what my old man kept telling me about girls... I suppose it did happen eventually... I hope Graham doesn't have to wait that long!

Update... First application - 64 other people also applied for the role, including 2 who proved to be an exact fit in terms of experience and industry sector. This reveals the issues with applying via an agency - they'll send through the 'best fit' but won't typically look into why the (apparent?) 'best fit' is available, or if someone else might do a better job. Ho hum. They could well be right, and they do have to start somewhere. Second role - I tried to discuss the role with the recruiter who clearly didn't understand my concerns over scope (given the information provide re scale and scope). As it turned out, my concerns described exactly what the company wanted, which was completely contrary to the description of the role. Third... "Can you program?" (I've been applying for infrastructure, not development roles.) "Yes. [I can and have.] What language would you like me to use?" "What have you used most recently?" "VB, for custom automated report creation." "Oh... We're looking for recent Visual C scripting experience..." This was for an infrastructure management role, with no mention at any point of any programming being required. I asked prior to interview, and was told it wasn't a pre-requisite. So... Back to the role in Taranaki. Phone interview yesterday morning. A half hour which really isn't long enough to even concisely get a full picture across. Still, it seemed to go well, and I should hear something more tomorrow. Next step will be a visit to HQ in New Plymouth and an in-depth interview, involving HR. They pay for the flights... Keep your fingers crossed, eh?
