10 Nov 2018. 258,211kms 1. Fuel Filter. From this: To this. I think I should move that filter lower in the bracket. I replaced the two hoses with new DAYCO EFI hose (BNT), as one was old-ish, and the other was original BMW manufactured 4/89. I re-used the BMW clips, because new new shiny Tridon clips I bought had SAE bolt sizes. Does not make sense to me, SAE bolt heads on my metric cars? No way. Filter is Hengst H80WK01 equivalent of BMW 13321268231 2. Misfire. The misfire was getting worse. I scored a set of used Bremi (OEM) HT leads, cleaned them up, burnished the contacts, metered them out. Promptly left them at home! Found one connection at the dizzy cap (Cyl 3) badly corroded and with resident moisture. Cleaned cap, moisture shield, rotor, leads. Reassembled, starts and idles beautifully. (yes, this is the 'before' picture). I've purchased a new OEM Radiator (Thanks Abel Smith Radiators), Genuine BMW top & bottom hoses, clips, Thermostat, BMW coolant, and cooling fan clutch. Next step, cool-o-rama & cambelt and clutch.

Tried an alternative tune for the system. The 5.25 inch ppi drivers weren't giving the mid bass performance I was after where as the sub could quickly overwhelm the system. Ive changed the cross over points so the 5.25s now crossover at 97hz and brought the sub upto 100 Hz. I've also reduced the sub output by -10 db. I've offset the passenger side by a 20 cm time delay to sync with sub distance and then adjusted time delay on drivers door speakers until I hear a mono image in centre stage. The result has been better than expected without the perception of bass coming from behind. Midbass has improved emencly and finally the system is well balanced with good up front sound. I'm ready now to start fine tunning the 1/3 octave equalisers on each channel via a microphone. Also need to sort out the photobucket mess in this thread

Well, it didnt even last a month before shitting the bed. Hesitates when cold with a rough idle, and if you hit boost it deactivates a cylinder and logs a code (29DC - DME: Cylinder Injection Cutout and a shadow code for 2AAF - DME: Fuel Pump, Plausibility). Suspect HPFP. #N54FTW Edit: Actually, looking at logs, it could be my LPFP failing. Seeing as low as 30psi under boost, and its strangling the HPFP. Will swap it back to the stock one tomorrow and see what happens.
