MTOY levelled up today, it was at Concours! Granted it was on my stand, but it still counts! Generated a bit of interest, should take it out more.

Yearly oil over the surface rust. Every 12 months we burn off the clear coat and allow it to rust up a little mor when coat it in used engine oil and with this heat, it bakes it in quite well.

Hi All, New to the group but I used the page and forums extensively to help me decide on my purchase of my e82 135i. My old man has had an e30 320i Baur edition for some time. It got a full engine, suspension and brake over haul last year and it got me inspired to get my own 6 cylinder bmw. With a work Ute for personal use my bm of choice didnt need to be practicle and my teenage years thrashing my Toyota Levin to and from the family Bach in Whangamata left me wanting to get back into a chuckable 2 door coupe. The reseach and trademe hunting began. It would be nice to find some thing NZ new with a service history but I realized they were pretty few and far between and the jap import stuff was often better specd. Soon I was test driving, 130i hatch with the 6speed auto, a couple of 335i one of which I didn’t even make it off the the dealers lot with engine lights on and only 5 cylinders firing from start up, serveral 135i and the later m135i in manual, auto, dct, n54 and n55. Eventually the hydraulic steering, engine and turbo noises and useabilty of the dct n55 had me focused on finding a good condition later model jap import e82 135i to fit my budget and one did! I wasn’t a big fan of the alloys it had on it but the dealer sorted this out along with Bluetooth, NZ nav and radio unlock, an autosure mechanical warranty and had it ready for me just before Christmas. 3000km of smile inducing trouble free motoring done so far. So thanks to all that post here it was a great help in in leading me to what has been a very happy purchase and I look forward to contributing to the group going forward. Cheers.

Have had some interest in my '332i' project, so will post up the details here on Bimmersport. This car started life as a 2003 330i m-sport sedan in black sapphire metallic and is being built into an 'M3 sedan'. While the car existed as a standard 330i, I replaced the seats and door cards with black leather units, and retrofitted an NBT from an F30: HellBM then removed the M54B30 and replaced it with an S54B32 & 6-speed manual gearbox: The VANOS was then 'bulletproofed' using the full Beisan kit, uprated cam gear bolts & S62 diaphragm springs, and the valves adjusted: I then rebuilt the donor M3 brake calipers; the front caliper pistons weren't in great shape and were replaced: Caliper carriers media blasted & painted: Calipers prepped & painted (Duplicolor gloss black): Next up was preparing the remaining M3 suspension and driveline components. New Bilstein PSS10 coilovers: Donor M3 subframe bushes removed: CMP Auto Engineering solid subframe bushes were chosen for this car, even though it's intended for street use. The reasoning is two-fold; no movement of the subframe against the RACP should help prevent any future cracking, and the bushes are designed to move the subframe closer to the body to account for reinforcement plates & the vehicle being lowered. The M3 LSD was cleaned, drained and the rear cover replaced: And reinstalled back into the subframe: Trailing arms disassembled, wheel bearings, balljoints replaced & Syncro Design Works monoball RTAB installed: Handbrake shoes & new springs installed: For the front, new CSL kingpins and wheel bearings were used: The old rear suspension & fuel tank were removed from the sedan: And the boot floor removed: No turning back now . A brand-new E46 M3 floor pan was purchased and the centre panel extracted: CMP Auto Engineering reinforcement kit installed: The decision was made to go the 'full way': Donor rear arches extracted & prepared: Test-fitting with M3 rear bumper: Tacked on & then welded fully: View from behind: M3 rear muffler brackets installed (pre-arches): The rear suspension & fuel system were then mostly reinstalled: ECS Tuning Monoball RSMs & reinforcement plates installed: And some more parts removed: A genuine M3 bonnet was then fitted. The guards will be created by joining both sedan and M3 guards: And that's it for now - more to come soon

I'm thinking seriously about selling my low miles manual E36 M3 convertible. It's a bit special having done only 32000 miles (51kms), in great condition and i'm the 4th private owner ( plus 4 or 5 dealers). I gave it a treat recently and had it valeted along with a coating of Feynlab Ceramic paint protection - the paintwork looks almost like new ! ( apart from a few chips and the bottom of the front spoiler, which i may get painted ). I'm interested in what Bimmersport members think it's worth, i'm thinking it's somewhere from $20-30k, maybe towards the higher end - I've seen comment that the E36's are appreciating in value but to what degree ? I've seen the Evo's around $30k plus/minus on TradeMe with twice the mileage, none of which seem to be selling quickly.

147,800 kms Got the windows tinted earlier this week at Tint Magic Whanganui. $320 and really pleased with the result. Good colour and a quality job done on the E39, which is notoriously hard to do well. Would recommend them for anyone in the area ?

Saw it while wondering around, looked great. Plate insert at the back was a nice touch.

That’s not a definition of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) i’ve Seen before, you seem to be broadening it out to include automation, robotics and pre-fab manufacturing. The 70s strikes were nothing to do with robots, but greedy unions wanting to protect lazy non-productive practices. robotics were widely introduced in the 80s to much fanfare and most were then pulled out again in the 90s. Some are still in use in limited applications but not the 100% utopia that was originally promised. Low cost manufacturing, whether it is cars, plastic crap or houses will always look to drive the price down. Low wage workers are more of a risk there than advanced systems I would suggest. you can either fear change or understand and embrace it and shape it. The only thing for certain is that there will be change.

I realise you've replaced the temp switch but have you bridged the connectors on the plug to make sure you have a full circuit to the fan?

Suspension back in over the long weekend: Also sorted out the wheels for this project - thank you Tom (M3_Power)! The car seeing daylight for the first time in months: Very happy with how it's turning out; a few more jobs to go and then it'll be on to paint.

@_ethrty-Andy_ you should buy this, own/drive in Caaaaanada, and bring it back with you. You know it makes sense.

Had a spare afternoon today so decided to get out the toothbrush and attack the steering wheel. Spent about 30 minutes and pretty happy with the result. It looks a lot better but feels even nicer! Had to take it for a drive afterwards; couldn’t stop feeling it up...
