I'm physically ok thanks Olaf and I'm unsure at the moment what is happening with the investigation / insurance . Plenty of witnesses and Heli cam cover. Their stolen vehicle was used for a burglary/home invasion by 4 who were captured. I've done all I can at the moment... claims in BTW the wife owned a swift for 13yrs from new. Was a great little car that suited her needs. Very reliable small vehicle.

My wife's amenable to replacing the Mazda - I just need to work out if the lads can fit in the back ? ? Might have a squiz at an E87 in the weekend to work this out - and compare it to an E90.

The sale will be on for more than one day if what was left at 16h is an indicator. I'm pretty sure some of the piles are literally trash but if you want the odd bit it might be worth a trip. Lot's of DME's and control units from ~91 to ~04 but very few with keys or chips. Also lots of bumper support bars for some reason. As above, lots of odd wheels f you're looking for some, most with rubbish tyres and none are particularly desirable. I picked up some exhaust tips for the 328 that I spied there about a year ago but he wanted $60, I offered $40 and no-go. Picked them up today for $10.

Went to see @Autoglym a wee while ago and bought a few products that I've been meaning to put into use. I finally got around to spending a day getting the Oxford Green paint to sparkle. Washed (with AutoGlym shampoo), clay barred, washed again, polished, and finally waxed. Also bought some leather cleaning product online and attacked the leather, before conditioning it. This was the most in-depth car clean I've ever done, and I'm pretty chuffed with how it's turned out. The paintwork is uber smooth to touch! And the leather is much less shiny, and nicer to the touch as well. Took this pic after labouring on her for an entire day:

I’m picking they didn’t have an e60 active steering rack on the shelf? style 123 rims? e30 fog lights?

No longer an over-stayer, but once a Pom, always a Pom. That reminds me, must get my AintoG and also do this before Winnie starts his crackdown on immigrants again.

Given the content of recent VTNZ adverts, I assume this is OK on NZ roads?

best way to sell your car is to convince Pete to buy mine then i'll be there

sh*t, that sucks mate. As long as you and yours are all safe and well Glenn, that's the main thing. Glad to hear you're Ok. People are a lot harder to fix than cars unfortunately.

Not quite correct, even with putting aside my pedant hat and letting the F30 estates slide. At launch of the F31, the xDrive models were not available in RHD variants so the range was launched with 318d, 320i, 328i and 335i models. A few months later the xDrive models were then introduced in RHS and the 320d xDrive and 330d xDrive models were added to the line up. The 335i was kept in the offering, even though the sales were pretty slow. Overall 62 of the 330d xDrive models have been sold so far NZ new. There were also four 330d pre-pro cars brought in during 2016, these were RWD variants, not xDrive. The F31 330d xDrive would have to be in the top three of all-round road cars I have ever driven in terms of performance, comfort, practicality and economy it is such a great all round package. Would love to try the 335d and also looking forward to the M340d in the new G21.

Thanks Kyu. I was by myself the car took the impact well and I'd buy again. I just don't want this one back now. Hasn't even had it's first service
  17. 1 point
well i hope that you and anyone else in the car is alright and the damn youths were caught... how did the kona take the impact? buy again?

Not an insignificant number, mainly pre-facelift ones. I've seen probably 8-10 come up for sale in last 12 months. They were the highest performance wagon til they brought in the 340i in 2017 (apart from a handful of special order 335i tourers)

Basically because I'm too precious with it. It sits in the garage undercover mostly. I also don't want to daily it to my work as I work at a powerstation that has a lot of iron fallout that overtime takes its toll. The e36 is the sacrificial beast in this case. From other people's point of view, it's just a 316i pov spec e30 so why would I garage it over the e91 etc? Because I'm super proud of it and want to keep it mint I guess.

152,053 kms. Quite a bit of love spent on Jane over the last couple weeks: Vanos seals refreshed Auto transmission serviced Rocker cover gasket replaced Sump gasket replaced Heater hose replaced Oil change I had these jobs done by Jon at Auto 38 two weeks ago. I've done 2,000kms since then, meaning I've had some time to get a feel for the results, and I'm really pleased. When people say that refreshing the vanos seals makes for a great improvement in their cars, they aren't lying! I drove from Wellington to Whanganui (200kms) after the seals were done which bedded them in nicely. The biggest takeaway is how much perkier the car feels; it's far more lively and torquey in the lower rev-range. Whereas before she would have chopped down from 5th into 4th when accelerating from 70km/h up to 100km/h, she now just pulls in 5th. And with only 150kms on the clock when this was done, I'm sure my vanos seals were in far better shape than others'. Highly recommended upgrade for anyone with these cars! Also running smoother and is slightly smoother on cold start, although not completely as smooth as I'd like it. But a great result nonetheless. Transmission service also returned great results. As soon as I took off from Auto 38 I noticed a change. Firstly, the shifts are far smoother (and they weren't rough to begin with!). And additionally, the up-shifts seem to come sooner, which could be the reason I've seen my petrol consumption drop from 10L/100km to 9.7L/100km! Sump gasket had a minor leak, so the gasket was replaced. Also got the rocker cover gasket done as one of those '"while you're in there" jobs - no record of it being done in the service history. Jon noticed the heater hose was getting quite soft, so replaced that to avoid any side-of-the-road-E39-coolant-system-failure moments! Hard to believe I'd already done 8,000kms since the last oil change in late November, but it was time for one of those as well! Overall, got a few of those checklist jobs done and the car has never run better. I chased an E60 M5, E92 M3 and E39 M5 over the Paraparas last weekend, and Jane held her own (although struggled a bit on the straights!). Love driving this car, and looking forward to putting many more miles on the clock Next on the to-do list: Replace folding radio wood trim with an uncracked piece (have the piece, just struggling to find the time to get the swap done), New rubber (I hear a set of Michelin PS4's calling Jane's name), Potentially a bit of suspension work. Undecided on how much I want to spend on suspension at the moment, when it's far from being buggered. Have a clunk that appears occasionally when coming to a halt. Might look into that soon.

a cgt should be part of flattening and simplifying the whole tax system Make it more difficult to avoid /evade taxes then everyone pays their share. There is a line to be tread here.If they make investment in property too difficult then is the government going to become the landlord of choice?Cos mum ans dad propery investor will have fled

The thing is though, the Working Group never wanted a CGT- until they were told to go away and think again. Political interference is at play here. The 3 most (only??) clued up members of that group were and remain dead set against any CGT.

Cheers, she's going to be a lot of work, serious doeruper but solidly built. Wouldve been a slick yuppie house back in late 80s though, going to have to get an E24 to match the decor

Now carless... going through an intersection at the Tristram Road motorway off-ramp on the green light I got "T" boned by 4 youths fleeing police in a high speed pursuit. Happened 12.15pm yesterday
