it was time Grey Thunder had a shampoo. So I gave her some Auto Glym love, and a dry off with my Rapid Dry Towel. an e30, this morning, just seven weeks shy of her 30th birthday. snap by iPhone, processing by Adobe Lightroom. that's it for now. I've been concentrating on my 'SS Commodore in a sharp German suit', and my Volvo 855-T5, this week.

Would there be any more interest if it were, y'know, less money? I'd prefer to avoid trademe, but if no one has room for this on their berm then I'll get ready for the masses.

Howdy folks, picked up a '95 525TDS Touring yesterday. Spotted it on FB marketplace a few weeks ago and was obsessed ever since. I'm meant to be finishing my '95 S124 E320 but couldn't pass up a diesel E34! Overall it's pretty tidy inside, Anthracite cloth seats and Oxford Green exterior. Paint has seen better days in places but that's something that will be addressed in the future. I started the deep clean today, gave it a quick wash and blew all the leaves and cobwebs out, cleaned the interior. Next step will be returning the engine back to stock for the moment. I'm assuming the lift pump failed as the PO fitted an inline pump, I'm going to need to take the HP pump off and reset it as he's turned the pump a little to change the timing. Sounds like it's cammed on idle but seems to run pretty well off idle. Replace some gaskets and fix all the common stuff like cluster LCD, bonnet gas stays etc etc. Have a pair of control arms to do before anything else. Future plans include H&R's, Style 32's and a manual swap. But I better give the S124 it's time first.....

You'll never stop if you want to stay on top of it... I've recently learnt that Bilstein don't market a B8 for the e36 M3, only the B6 (and almost every American retailer has it wrong). You can make up a B8 set though by getting Z3M B8 fronts and e46 M3 B8 rears. I have B6's (thought they were B8's) in my M3 and they're perfect for me.

Bump. Have secured one in Japan so my search is now over. Doing a road trip to Osaka on Monday to put the car into storage until its ready to meet me back home. Will post updates in the new members forum or something.

RTABs are so crucial for how an E36 rides. Night an day difference if they are in proper shape!

Update: Rear trailing arm bushes were pretty shocking so I've replaced them with Powerflex black series bushes. I haven't had a chance to test drive the car yet but will hopefully put the new Mtech 2 steering wheel on and get a wheel alignment in the next week or so. Progress has been slow as I've been busy but it's slowly getting there. As for the installation of the bushes, yes, I did it the messy way but it still works so I'm not bothered. Pretty much broke the aluminium cylindrical piece out of the old bush, cut the rubber back in one part, crimped it inwards to free it from the housing/bracket and then lightly sanded the housing before installing the new bush.

Wouldn't surprise me but at the same time it also wouldn't surprise me if it was more expensive than ordering some yourself.

Hey everyone. It's been ages since I visited the forum (sorry). Hi to all the guys I've missed - Dave, Jules, Martin, Kyu, Jayden etc. :-) I'll have to check if the coffee meetings are still a thing! Anyways... I'm currently leasing a garage space in Onehunga to store and work on my (and mates') cars. There is space for 8 and there are two free. 24hr access and it's secure. It's fairly cosy when all the cars are in, but we shuffle things around according to need. There are two outdoor spots too which helps free up space when we need it. Ceiling is high enough for an engine crane, but probably not a permanently installed hoist (although we're looking into it). No problems with making a bit of mess on the floor, as long as it's cleaned up afterwards. I've attached a couple of photos. Cost is $85/wk, or $45/wk for one of the outdoor spaces. If you're interested (or know someone who is) please PM me. James :-)

IT's ALIVE !!!!! never straight forward, engine out again to sort a couple of things, still wouldn't start, had spark and fuel but wouldn't fire, had the computer double checked for the EWS delete and all was good there. Had my electrical guy back and he looked into the injector firing and we had no power there when cranking, so bridged a wire at replay and vroom So now we can put the interior back in, seats, dash and console back together and go for a whip around the block, clutch doesn't feel perfect as it's very close to the floor so may need to lengthen the rod more to get the engagement up. All going to plan this weekend we will finish off these items and I can get a wheel alignment booked this week ready for cert... Will update after weekend of how the test drive goes.
