Hi Guys, Just brought a M325i and wish to find a few of the BMW e30 performance bibles that people may have lying around and want to get rid of It's fairly tidy and all complete but will be a rolling restoration with the eventual aim to fit a stroker kit but keep it standard looking. Cheers

Diff finished & back in car now. The Euro Surgeon boys spied some tears in the floor too, it's time for plates. My cage builder (Chubb Racing) is planning to build some extra reinforcement for the shock towers at the rear at the same time. I certainly haven't helped things here by stiffening up the rear so much. Winter projects: Fix tears, build rear section to roll cage / subframe supports (underway as above) Make a GTR bonnet (to be fair this is more GT Refinishers than me, but finally get it sorted). I have scored a spare aluminium m3 bonnet & GTR vents that they can chop up and play round with. Get yet another boot, replace wing mounts & uprights with billet items, possibly flush mount to the underside of the boot & strengthen (my current spare boot is warped to hell from the current wing mounts). I wouldn't mind making a 'quick-release' loom for the boot as well so I can swap them over easier. It currently takes me around 30m, most of which is mucking around feeding wiring through holes. Sort out rear diffuser - this has actually been designed & built already (one of the ex-Rocket Lab guys designed & built it for me) but has yet to be finished & installed on the car Remove plastidip from the e39 wheels and fix them properly (this is just laziness on my part) ??? I've had the windscreen replaced while the car has been sitting around, and will be looking at ways to protect the glass further from rock chips when I get my hands on it again - watch for results. Only pic I've got of this car from the past couple of months ?

The track day was a huge success! I must admit, Pukekohe had me a little nervous with how quick the track was combined with how rubbish my brakes/rear tyres were but all in all it was great. Once again, the 328 took a beating and showed no signs of giving up. Here are a few photos of the day.. I very much enjoyed getting loose on the hairpin corner at the back of the track.

I like yellow! But I'd prefer a white Z4 coupe...

Depends on who you ask. Personally i always do strut mounts, followed by bump stops and dust boots if perished, some times the lower spring pad if it looks deformed but i re-use everything else.

I feel your pain Logan, esp re lack of time with kids running round... Changed the spark plugs on the Mazda yesterday while I ignored the BMW, see BMW's can be very reliable if you just don't drive them ? Although that is about the beginning and end of easy service items to do on that car...

Yeah would be fun but I don’t need 600hp, not even close. If I could make 350atw I would be more than happy, hence why I’m thinking of just rebuilding the factory units.

Bump stops and dust boots, they're always dead, lucky if the bumpstops last half the life of the shocks. Top hats while you're there (and they're always dead as well )

If you like cars and (car) manufacturing do the factory tours for Porsche (Zuffenhausen), Mercedes (Sindelfingen) - both in the Stuttgart area and BMW in Munich. They all need to be booked in advance though and get filled up rather quickly. The relevant museums are also quite amazing but they don't need to be booked in advance (their entrance fees are cheap).

I used Milland recently, and Paul provided a very good service and competitive pricing.

So much to see and do in Paris. Villa Savoye if you’re into La Courbousier; the Picasso museum, Musee d’Orsay, and of course the charming fromageries and delecatessens one finds everywhere (though the Ile St Louis seemed to have great representation)... great subway transport, and of course connections to SNCF Rail. Just waking around and checking out the architecture used to keep me entertained. At least you’re not going in Feb; it’s as cold as NYC at that time of year. I always found Parisienne's very helpful. I attribute this to trying to speak French, usually receiving an enthusiastic response that was well beyond my mediocre grasp; politely explaining. (In simple Spanish) that I’m not a monolingual tourist from the EU but a visitor from Nouvelle Zealande... at which point exclamations triggered “ahhh, les All Blacks!”, happiness, and English flowed. Finishing off with a French thanks and farewell seemed to make an impression too.

Other good spots are the south of France (Avignon), Rome and Stockholm. It all depends what you like and are into. I tried to spend at least 3 days in each city but you are still not going to see everything

Paris is superb, Brussels is nice but... essentially not exciting. Depends what you want to do! As Gaz mentions above, a visit to BMW in Munich would be brilliant. Plug here: BMW Car Club NZ members can get access to areas and tours at BMW that are not open to the public... needs to be organised in advance. Who'dve thought that $95 membership fee gains so much! ?

Yes it looks nice in Daka Yellow, 68,000 km and $39,995. A bit more tempting than the black one.

Having just traveled through there, I have to say they are really spending some money on roading there. Maybe because the mayor is a farmer? The Saddle Road has been improved outstandingly too! I think you will love it in that area Graham, the occasional winter snow will be like old blighty but the summers are very nice.
