Nice E39 540i Touring in silver going like the clappers on the Taupo-Napier Road tonight in the rain. I was hard pushed to keep up, and then the passenger seat handbrake got pulled on.

Got my GROM bluetooth receiver as a Birthday present to myself and installed it today in the E39. Similar to @BozzaFCand @adro Install was pretty sweet. getting the tape player back in was a proper mission thanks to the fat loom and additional new wires, got there in the end and now have full bluetooth and no CD changer. Have put the hands free mic on hold for now until can be arsed running it behind the drivers side dash panel etc. Next, BAVSOUND speaker install. Direct fit goodness. Had these in my e46 and they were great.

16 hour flight delayed 1 hour while they off load some prick with no visa. Causes us to miss not one but two flights from Auckland to Wellington. Then our 3rd flight is over an hour late leaving. Weather's sh*t. Welcome home I guess haha.

Sit down with the service manager and have a decent chat about it all. Half the problem is we are dealing with 20 year old cars which are going to have underlying issues which no one knows about. It's highly unlikely, close to impossible that the DSC module failure has anything to do with the airbag recall. It's like saying since you changed my engine oil the windows don't work

To be fair I don't think many people would consider it "handsome" or "pretty" but to my eye most new cars (BMW included) can't be classified as such so I wouldn't call this one out particularly. Many new cars, this one included, seem to also have a disconnect between the "aggressive" front on treatment and the rest of the car. All bark and no bite so-to-speak. Perhaps all the plastic trim is functional though? If it's clip on, customer replaceable then it's ideal for all those parking dings and scrapes you can get - no paint or panel required, just clip the old bit off and the new bit on. I'm not sure if I'm being too optimistic there? Would be pretty cool though. Black (carbon-look) roofs seem to becoming a trend, seems odd, is it a plastic panel also? Lagoon Blue = Laguna Seca Blue? Looks pretty close to me! Looks and personal preferences aside, I'm glad it's all worked out and you've got your own rubber back on the road. ?

Bit pissed off to see that the Powerflex bushes I put in the front control arms of the M5 have shat themselves after about a year and 5000 km, guess I won't be buying any more Powerflex bushes ever again!
