pretty sure its this one https://www.trademe.co.nz/2175974267
imo, the reason it hasnt sold is because its very very overpriced. he would need to sharpen the pencil quite a bit to take my money
For all the 16 inch wheel boys Hyperdrive have Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 in 225/50/16 on sale for under $200 a tyre. Please note I have no affiliation with HD just started looking for myself and thought the deal was worth sharing.
Not quite first, our Daughter had a 318Ti which really gave me the bug for BMW’s. Have been looking for some time now at a very nice 2008 330i in the South Island with low KMs, NZ new and a very good price. What gives me pause is its been on TM for over 12mths and hasn’t sold. Have only seen it online. Looks like a real peach and I cant believe its still for sale. Just not quite in the position to push the button on this one. Sadly it doesn’t have heated seats but its non i-Drive and has non wood veneer interior. The only issue I am aware of to take precautions with is the water pump which I could happily get new for around $650 ex UK. They have so many plus points; No GDi, very reliable transmission (as far as I am aware), not too many electronic items to go bad (Re: Volvo V70 T6 which was another on the wish list) and naturally aspirated. Seems like the perfect package also with 270hp. Also have a great BMW mechanic who knows them inside out.
Hi Guys,
Just brought a M325i and wish to find a few of the BMW e30 performance bibles that people may have lying around and want to get rid of
It's fairly tidy and all complete but will be a rolling restoration with the eventual aim to fit a stroker kit but keep it standard looking.
Cheers
So many E3's have popped up all of a sudden. My mate picked up a rusted out 3.0si as a parts car for his one. I sold mine and know of 3 others as i was trying to sell mine. Looking forward to seeing more on yours
No, I did see that, and that led me to these two..... I scored two from the same guy, who also happens to have a third one in decent condition that's had a 351 Windsor and 4 speed fitted, his daily is a manual E34 520i........ Oh and an 850CSi tucked away.....
More shall be revealed once I collect the second, much better example ?
An interesting article. I like the shape but not the pricing for the current offering on TradeMe.
When the article is talking about a 10 HP difference between the older M Coupe and the 3.0L (228 HP) Coupe, the comparison is with the S52B32 (240 HP) USA engine not the S50B32 (321 HP) engine that we got in the older M Coupe.
No can do compadre..... that one is just the "mostly complete" parts car....... I say "mostly" because most of it is in the boot ???.... it's nothing spectacular though.... plenty of surface rust and a couple of bad holes, but has 99% of the trim I need to sort the good one out that I should be picking up in a fortnight or so. That one I will grab a few pics of to share with the masses, hopefully it'll be a short term project before it's first cruise in 15 or so years ?
Spotted last night heading from Balclutha towards Invercargill, a 1970ish E3 S on a trailer behind an 80's Landcruiser. Couldn't get a photo because I was too busy driving the aforementioned Landcruiser at the time ????
Yes I believe the M20 is the common "semi performance" upgrade. You can get away with the M4X SMF and clutch as well, they can slip a little at high revs or when being pushed hard but I got away with one behind my "slightly modified" M52B28 for a year or so - not ideal but will work. And there are places around that can rebuild the M4X clutch to have more clamping force than a stock M5X one.
Thanks heaps for you help Pramod, life saver, I was about to torch the fecking thing
Ended up being a butchered coding from Carly app, reflash to stock by @promo via the magic of the interwebs and I have tail lights that behave themselves now.
Upgrade to a 3.2 Evo sump / S54 sump and oil pump. Buy these beforehand and get the pump rebuilt. Don't bother with baffles as KwS says, the factory ones are more than enough. Focus on what causes oil nut failure - stretched and worn chain / sprocket. Failure on S50x parts aren't as common as the M50x pumps either.
Would also recommend bottom end bearings if you're going to be removing the subframe, and paying someone to install everything/ do the bearings at the same time. Have recently got a quote for a S50B32 bottom end refresh and it's come to $1700 incl GST total, that's parts and labour inclusive.
Believe it was through Autolign, at the time i just specified what springs i had and just wanted the setup to be a bit more livable on the road.
I never used B8's are std, i got them revalved after removing the B6's that i bought instead of B8's. H&R springs aren't known for great for ride quality either. E24 should ride better than an E30 either way.
Yeah, Sorry about that. I had asked around on Facebook for a M325i and he replied. I then had to update my everyday car so did't go through with the sale so I was surprised when I got back in touch with him a couple of months later and he still had it. Its going to be a project to restore it slowly as funds (and the wife) allow. I had thought about a S50b30/b32 conversion originally but because the car is too good for that I think I will just get an Ireland engineering stroker kit and massage the head/cam to see if that fits the bill lol.
It certainly goes much better than the mk2 escort sport i had ?
