As part of me clearing out my fleet - due to my illness - we have now decided to sell our 540i. I've updated the ad - as we will now hang on to the Touring - and I've lowered the price on the Motorsport - as I really need the car gone. I've included the chassis number - so you can confirm vehicle spec yourself. 2002 540iSE (is how its registered - but has the full Motorsport specification) - Silver - black leather Chassis: WBADN62080GF13460 175K NZ New - spec'ed with TV, electric rear blind, fold down rear seats and ski bag. I've got a factory first aid kit (unfitted) for the car. We have only owned the car a short time - and this was going to be a "keeper" due to the great spec and performance. Spent $1000s - getting rid of engine oil leaks, sorting out the broken and missing parts (like the outer underbody trays), getting a second key The bad: Power Steering oil leak - looks to be the reservoir - but could be hoses leeching - havent had time to investigate Usual dings and dents for a car this age - but presents well Usual pixels in main dash issues CD Stacker not functional Intermittent PDC failure - but self clears I'd like $4000 for this car -but open to offers as I need to sell the car. The car is in Wellington PM message or call me on 0272010807 if you are interested in buying the car Cheers Darryl

Small update So managed to score this little oven for next to nothing, using it to bake the exhaust manifolds to cure the paint. Also finally got the chance to actually place the supercharger ontop of the motor thats siting in the wagon. She's tight but bonnet closes, may have to modify the cabin filter housing but other than that its gonna be goodie. one lot cured

Call up wrecker for part, N52 rocker cover, asks for payment ($180) first. Transfer funds, go to pick it up a day later and the part is more busted than the original, so refuse it. 3 weeks later still no refund...... One more day then I rubbish you online.

"Car has been freshly painted not 100% but still a very good paint job" How does a blind person come to legally own and operate a car?

Meh, some 17 year old will buy it and then enquire on the E30 facebook pages if it's possible to do a M50 swap with manual or Turbo it for 2k.

there's one that could be obtained for that here https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2256238500.htm admittedly doesn't have the sports pack nor m sport bits. there is a NZ new 320d 2014 model for about 24k in Auckland too (if you like I could check that out)

We had the same dilemma and we went with the 328i. A friend of ours who works for Auckland City BMW recommended the 328i too. More power available in the 328i, consumption was dependent on the driver. We get 500kms for $100 of 98 with Normal mode. Could get more in Eco with the Start/stop function ON. The 328i came with some nice options that we liked, White with full tan leather, sunroof very low kms.

I thought the car drove well before but the Bilsteins made the ride nice and tight, I’m running factory Mtech springs. Picture from this mornings Whitford/Beachlands drive

Rebuild could be expensive but depends on what has actually failed and how far you rebuild it. A good second hand unit with new fluid\filter and probably a rebuilt torque converter is what id do. Jon @ Auto38 is recommended by many Wellington members here.

I never liked them at first because of the 'hair dresser' vibe but they're awesome to drive.
