Hi All, As much as it pains me I've decided my topas blue e39 530 motorsport is surplus to requirements. I just can't keep stacking them up As with any of our cars, it's had a sh*t-ton of attention during my ownership of 4 years. It's well sorted... A few highlights: Vanos O rings, CCV, DISA, WP, Thermo, plugs, belts, wheels, trim, bumper, Business CD plus bluetooth, sump gasket, brakes, radiator, windscreen... It's NZ new with about 265k on it. Original plates ID (but replaced to freshen up). There are some photo's of it in my Gallery. If interested please private message me and I can elaborate on its history and share more photos etc. SOLD.

So after dailying the V8 and the V12, sanity of some form had to eventually occur. This has taken the form of a Rex i3, whether that’s sane or not, time will tell. 130ks between charge with the on board generator in case I have to run off somewhere. Was looking at everything from diesel to hybrid and at the end of the day decided to go full BEV. As I’ve got the 750 and 740 and the boss has a E550, this was always going to be a 50 - 90k a day city car so BEV ended up the best choice for us. I grin wildly gunning it so not sure I’ll get anywhere near 130ks ? The thing is like a premium go cart, can’t wait to get some ks under the belt and how this BEV journey goes.

Have you been vaccinated against the sickness? Selling one means the immune system is getting stronger. Seems a shame to be selling a peach ? It’s a score for someone.......

Kayne Barrie motorsport would be a good person to do the vanos for you. He is just north of Auckland, so you would need to ship but he has a very solid reputation.

I had the same issue on my E46, but i landed up sound deadening the boot, was cheaper and worked great. Also, try get some deadening above the muffler, between the heat shield and chassis. Another option would be to remove the new muffler and fill it with that metal sponge stuff you use to clean pots and pans ?

BMW aren't necessarily the right people actually, they have very little experience with these type of procedures. Shop around for a reputable engine builder for the bottom end, VANOS you may need to ship, I don't know the ChCh market, perhaps @Aaron has a better idea. $4.7k is stupid money, don't do that. I suspect the best you'll get is a start-up warranty from any independent. There are a few in Auckland that will rebuild your VANOS for you.

Just join this amazing group. I just bought BMW 218d last week and really love the car. plenty of room for carrying stuff and family as well. Since this is my first BMW and usually I use jap cars, so, I don't really know about BMW's maintenance, looking forward to learning from y'all guys.. cheers...

Hi Guys, Thought I would say hi and introduce myself. I’ve been a lurker on here for a few years, and after a long hunt I finally managed to find a nice M3 to buy around 15 months ago, and been enjoying it as a weekend car ever since!

I’m from Northern Ireland, been in NZ almost 6 years, and I had 2 Alpina’s over there. A B3S Touring and a C2 2.7, I sold the B3S a few years back but still have the C2 2.7
