224,000 km Weird clicking in the cabin has been solved. Turned out it was the seatbelt receiver's old plastic guides being noisy...took abit of detective work to figure out where it was coming from, lubed it up with some plastic friendly grease and it's nice and quiet now. Replaced drivers side door seal, it was on the first list of things to do.....finally got it done. old: New: man that feels good. I got a new lens, 105mm Macro......took it out for a little test run tonight. I also put the sub back in the boot. It really rounds out the sound nicely...the wiggles never sounded so good ? Should probably vacuum the boot sometime too..

I could see in the photos the rust reappearing after the restoration from a number of years back. I’m very glad someone else has come to the same conclusion.

I'm super keen on it too but most certainly won't be nearing 20k from me. E36 M3s are better choice, just saying..

Spot on. And I have seen it in person, it needs a bit of work in regards to tidying up the body. It also has some rust issues. I walked away for that very reason.

    It's back on a 45 day long auction. I don't understand.

I owned this about 12 years ago. Had it for 3 years then sold it to Ross @ BM Workshop. The present owner bought it off Ross. All BMW enthusiasts. Genuine unmolested example.

Completely cooked my engine on track, it seized up, likely from oil sloshing around on the corners and running metal-on-metal ? Plastic cooling system parts are probably all stuffed too, at least some hoses look discoloured. So anyone with a wreck that has what I need, please let me know. Car is a 2010 E92 335i with an N55. Located in Christchurch. Alternatively if you want to buy a heavily modified E92 335i with a stuffed engine, I might consider a reasonable offer. But probably not

Hi mate, It’s just an obd2 scanner with torque pro. About a month ago, my car would randomly stall when i did warm starts. One day it completely died and the engine would crank but wouldn’t start. Me and 3 euro mechanics stripped the car and found out that it was the knock sensor, vanos and crank position. Couldn’t reset the vanos as the car would stall at 80 degrees. Fast forward a week after the repair and I got this exact same knocking issue that old mate was talking about. It only does it on cold starts and starts about 10 seconds after engine starts running. Lasts about 10 seconds or so. I’ve had the camshaft sensor errors before the car died and even after taking every single sensor out of the car and cleaning them, they reappeared a few days later (could there be an oil leak making them dirty.). Sometimes I have a 2 -3 second crank on warm starts but the car drives well. Someone mentioned an oil separator as a potential issue for the knocking noise, coil pack has also been thrown around. What are your thoughts ? After the repairs I had p0300, p0340, p0369, p1083, p1085, p1343, p1347. My mechanic who’s a mate scanned the depths of it with a bmw tool and gave the car back to me with no errors apparently. Kind of nervous because just before the car broke down, I had the 2 camshaft errors before getting the crank position error. I cleared all the codes and gave my car a run and the only two errors reappearing are the camshaft sensors. We reset the transmission and a few other things. I’d pay for any advice on the knocking noises and camshaft errors. Cheers

Well I did have a hell of a fun time until it died. Seems the N55 really needs some extra oil pan baffling, some oiling upgrades like an Accusump are probably a good idea too. I killed my engine with maybe 25 minutes of track time. Coil-overs, M3 control arms, track pads, meant it was handling great and it gripped incredibly well. I thought with street tyres I wouldn't build up enough G-forces to cause oil pressure issues but it seems like I did. Session 1 was great., session 2 it overheated towards the end and went into limp mode so I pulled out early. Session 3, it was overheating much faster, and under acceleration it sounded like a helicopter was hovering above me. There was no helicopter, so I think that was engine knock. As I slowed to a stop the engine shut off. Towed it to a workshop and they found the crank would not budge at all. Oil smelled bad and looked dodgy, like it had boiled, coolant pipes had turned white... not a pretty sight! Engine is toast! Thinking I might get some work done on the replacement engine so that it can actually handle the track. The car was just too much damn fun, it was amazing on the track, never thought it would corner so well! Even when it was sliding it was so controllable. This will certainly hurt the bank balance though ?
