Picked this beauty up in Rotorua from a forum member on here. What a rare colour being Malachite Green Metallic. Nz new. I plan to do a manual conversion and mtech kit on it and some nice wheels although the basket weaves look amazing. It will eventually get a full repaint. Too. Who else has an e28 or a lead on a manual conversion. The 535i has nice power I must admit.

Is this your idea of engagement, follow up and respect? Someone goes to lengths to explain things, as per your request and you respond with an emoji.. are you identifying as a 13 year old school girl or something? So glad I clearly wasted time I simply don’t have right now to respond to you. Do unto others and all that. Whilst you may not believe it, long term productive members do get more lee-way with any potential issues. However, as you are not privy to how other users / posters are handled you will have no baseline to compare against. That does not mean it gives carte Blanche for you to post everything and anything you want, the rules do still apply.

Hi all, I've been a lurker on this page previously as I used to have an E90 330i and an E46 323i. But have had to come back to NZ and buy a car on a budget due to Covid unfortunately. I bought this 328ci and the previous owner did the old muffler delete and I hate it. I'm a vehicular retard, so I'm not sure where the best place to get a muffler would be, or who to do it through. If anyone in here has any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them. Cheers all.

I belong (amongst others) to a drivers group called ARTDI (a reason to drive it) and we had our first drive Sunday morning since before lockdown. With another bimmersporter from Hamilton #audiguy in a Z4M we drove through to Rotorua to meet up. A varied collection of 35 cars turned up (groups of 10 and SD procedures observed ?). The organiser Earle driving the orange Audi TT Quattro 3.2V6 (I owned a silver one a few years back) and is lead car for the Targa rally. He choose the course for the day using many of the roads used by Targa. Well what a blast ‘following’ the TT and the Z4M. Best of all the M3 performed flawlessly on some testing roads and even though it needs a rear wheel alignment after changing the RTABs. Have some replacement wishbones and bushes to do then will get a proper alignment done.

Hi all, Moved to Auckland back in 2016 from London. Owned a 335i and 330i over there and didn't need a vehicle for a good few years here so wasn't sure if I'd ever rekindle my BMW love. However finally dived back in opting for a sensible daily (more like weekly driver, I really don't drive often) in a 120i E87 which gets the job done. Over the last 7 years I've rebuilt a couple of engines, the M54 from my 330i (this engine eventually ended up in a Z4 project car in Holland), a K20A (here in Auckland which I had planned to put into a Civic but eventually just sold the completed engine, I presume it's still running fine.......). This brought me to my next BMW project. I'm just about at the end of an N54 rebuild (having decided that 400 HP+ is where I'm going) and will be wanting to drop that into a chassis soon enough.... I don't seem to have any decent pics of my 120i (will take some once it's clean and I can use the waterblaster again...damn droughts). Hope a pic of the N54 project the day it arrived and my old 330i when I'd finished it's paint cut and polish will do for now

Looks very familiar... Also not sure about some of the claims. Came into NZ from Japan in 2009.

Crack free dashboard out of storage and installed. Had it over a year before I could get it into the car

Press release seems to confirm at least some of what he claims - https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/united-kingdom/article/detail/T0016001EN_GB/bmw-330ci-clubsport-coup%C3%A9?language=en_GB Doesn't appear to be any 330i clubsport specific suspension or exhaust parts though

I quite like the wing, which is somewhat strange as normally it’s a big no, maybe it’s the combo with the wheels. Very nice especially in the colour

Exactly, all that chat does is divide which is a shame. It's nice to come here relax and talk about car related things only.

Defenders are like E30s. Most are over-priced. They sell, because the kool-aid has got to people.

Four orders for these `test pipes`. Thanks for the genuine enquiries and a big shout out to the Bimmersport Legal team for the free advertising.

A replacement battery section and spare wheel well were sourced, spot welds drilled out of both and everything prepped for replacement This took about a day solid - not rushing almost always means less re-work, and a tidier job.

The earlier post mentioned about boot-mounting the battery. So Inspector Screwdriver went looking there too, and ended up cutting the entire battery tray out (rotten in the seams). While I was there I lent on the spare wheel mount, and pushed it straight through the floor. Queue much bleeding, swearing and how the F did that happen's, I looked underneath more closely. A previous owner had managed to apply bitumen patches over rust from underneath, then sprayed with underseal. Drive it on dirt roads for a couple of kms and no one's the wiser.....apparently. Closer inspection revealed they'd done this in the boot floor also. I know some cars have bitumen sound deadening, but this stuff was repco-grade stuff, complete with what appeared to be chinese branding still visible in places. Around this time I should also mention - I checked this car over pretty thoroughly. It's not my first rodeo, so places like behind the fuse box, upper scuttle area, inner arches and lower arch areas I had been pretty thorough on. Being this far in I could only cut more out, and fix it PROPERLY. And possibly buy more whiskey.

But that's not all! I'd noticed the passenger floor was damp after the engine bay / car wash, which was odd. As the carpet was fubar'd and was to be replaced, I removed the passenger door, pulled out the seats, sold them (strangely both passenger seats..), cut / pulled / tore the carpet out to discover more joy at the bottom of the A pillar and in the inner fender area. Not a biggie to tidy up, but the lower A was inside and out involving some tricky welding For those who haven't noticed, my garage is small. Taking the door off allows me quick access in and out, but also had the bonus of removing a door that was to be replaced as it too had rust in the bottom of it.
