The latest in a series of "e39 rescue" is now available to its next guardian... I picked this one up just before lockdown as it had a certain style of wheel I thought I needed as a spare set... Lockdown was very busy in the garage as I "worked from home" This early e39 528 with M52 engine has had a lot of attention and too much $$$ thrown at it in a short space of time... Everything is now up to date, all working, and is oil and watertight... As a few highlights... Waterpump, thermostat, front rotors (gen BMW) and pads, rear pads, front brake hoses, new windscreen, windscreen trim and cowl, rear windscreen trim, new console tray and compartment, facelift headlights polished and adjusters replaced, replaced foglight, excellent set of standard wheels with near new tyres, front sway bar links, rear suspension upper control arms and lower inner bushes, power steer hoses and pipes, fuel filter, window regulator replaced, bonnet/boot struts, cupholders.... The electric rear blind has been replaced and the parcel tray dyed black. The entire car has had a time consuming paint correction to remove clear coat scratches, along with the dent magician taking care of a few small dents. The door handles have been painted along with other touch ups around the car. There is still minor evidence of 24 years or so of life, low on the front and rear bumpers, and on drivers door as examples... but in general the oxford green metallic paint is pretty good... This car was imported from Japan in 2005 and has had one NZ owner before myself. The car was fitted in NZ with a widescreen monitor and navigation, the last map update being in 2011, which makes it a bit of fun... Other features include rain sensitive wipers, fold in mirrors, heated front seats, a quiet working sunroof with clear drains. 241,xxxkm or so. https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/bv73322 I have decommissioned the intensive washer function, but the headlight washer system has been repaired with a new supply hose. This car is in excellent all round condition and is "good to go" The engine is silky smooth and the trans is also good, albeit being a Jatco it has the mandatory "jatco jerk" shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 when cold. After a few changes it's all good... Looking for around $3900 or reasonable offers.... "nothing to do" but of course I cannot offer or imply any sort of guarantee / warranty. Fresh WOF.

I'm after a pair of E30 sun visors including the brackets they clip into. Must be black, and in reasonable condition. Not too worried if the vinyl is cracking around the pivot. Christchurch would be ideal.

Im thinking the lack of and outrageous expensive of the Getrag 420g has killed my V8 plans for the E28. So instead looking at the way more popular 6 cylinder options: M50, M52, M54, S50 etc. Anyone know of a gearbox for sale to suit? EDIT: And an engine? Also if I do the M50/2/4 etc route I will need the E34 M50 oil pan, dip stick and pickup to fit in an E28.

It needs to change it's rating system. 2nd Hand Item - Rate the trader New Item - Rate the trader and the item Obviously rating the Item would only work for items with brand names and/or model numbers. Not crafted items. This lumped into one website they have is a sh*t show.

New rubber today for the 530. Michelin PS4, all round 40% off at Hyper Drive and fitted by my local tire shop. Brilliant all for a hair under 1500. Incl shipping and fitment. have also noticed that the rear drivers side door doesn’t always unlock when I come back to the car. This is likely the actuator and some that will need attention sooner rather than later to ensure it doesn’t fail leaving the door stuck shut. This would mean a potentially damaging door car removal with door closed as per his vid from e39 source.

Does it have a battery cable recall on it?

Only trying to fund for a JetSki if I get enough together in a month I’ll keep it a bit longer but I don’t use it. It just sits at my work doing nothing so bit of a waste really

This panel section has really got my work cut out for me. Don't know what happened to this side but very subtle ripples and dents all over the show. Done several runs over with guide cost, block sanding and filler. They looked straight in many places, but far from it. And it's obvious now someone has also done a hack job Rollin the rear guards. I know it would been a lot quicker if I didn't take the entire panel back. But not knowing the condition of the repair would have eaten away at me after I finished painting.

FWIW I paid $4k for a one owner E28 last year. Original wheels (and tyre in the boot!), seats, suspension etc. Spent.. at least that replacing everything since.

Will try 3.5 inch rear tips to close center gap and they look a tad too small... Need to raise box by 2 - 3 mm to align shaft.. Driveshafts lenghts perfect.... Prep to final on exhaust...cant freaking wait for this Melody to Rumble.....

Yeah that is quite nice. Who did the bearings though. Looks like a home job from that photo lol. I think after Sam heard @FIAT 131R's stunning E90 M3 the other week (He does have a very nice remus exhaust) she is quite keen on one. Will get the house on the ground first. Then look at selling the 200sx and getting something she can thrash.

Added a roller cabinet for my pre-existing Teng top box which gave me the incentive and motivation to tidy the garage and workbench a little. Also added a Teng wheel nut set (bar, extension and nylon covered sockets) to my existing 3/8" and 1/2" socketry.

Drove it home and spent saturday polishing it up with the mrs. Came up better than expected. Starting to like this car more and more. Especially with how little its costed me so far.

Some muppet just paid $50K usd for a sh*t old Civic. An absolutely lackluster non Type R yawn machine. So if fools are collecting Nana's Civic. Great Grandma's beige 320i Auto 4 door poverty edition is worth big bucks right?
