  1. Hi guys after an oe, riding a triumph bonneville, having kids (and so getting rid of the bonneville) I'm back with a 2006 325i msport in my favorite colour. Was willing to get a 320I to get manual but the auto turned out OK as a compromise. Love the car and for the first time ever don't feel the need to change anything other that getting nz radio bands if anyone here provides a service? Anyway, crappy phone pics below, cheers
  2. Dang, new I should have taken metal work at school rather than physics and chem. I might give Arrow a call up, having them proper hub and wheel centric is pretty important to me. Thanks for the response. It sure would be easy owning an e46 in the states...
  3. Hi All Trying to track down some wheel spacers for my e46 (5 x 120mm). Does anyone know where I can source these and longer bolts from in NZ? Wanting to increase the track 10-15mm per corner Something a bit like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-5-LUG-W...sspagenameZWDVW Unfortunately this bloke isn't interested in sending to NZ
  4. Hi All Could someone please recommend a cheap place for some 17" tyres - 2 x 235/40/17 and 2 x 215/45/17 fitted and balanced as well as a wheel alignment. They can be fairly budget ones as they will be over tyre'd on an e46 318i anyway. To fit on staggered 7.5 and 8.5 motorsport rims. Ta Oh yeah, in Auckland please.
  5. Hey dude Cheapest place for these at the moment is www.flashcards.co.nz They are also very safe Check out www.pricespy.co.nz for the best prices on anything PC, camera, phone memory etc.
  6. Can anyone tell me if these will work for upgrading drum brakes?
  7. Hey dude, Lance at Arrow wheels is very good. He not only fixes wheels but fabricates them from scratch so may be the most able. Good luck with the claims.
  8. --> QUOTE(John B @ Aug 1 2006, 10:21 AM) 88797[/snapback] Both yourself and hybrid were absolutely right - the offset is critical. I guess that's why I have always fitted custom-made 3-piece Arrow wheels to my cars in the past. A 3-piece wheel allows you to have any offset (positive or negative) that you require. The wheel my wife is going for is a 19 x 8.5 inch with a 38mm offset. This wheel has been fitted on other E46s, and from the images I have seen, they fit ready well. Maybe we will have to lower the car, but we'lll make that decision once the wheels are fitted. I know a number of you have recommended not to go with a 19 inch wheel (because of the harsh ride), but my wife doesn't seem too concerned - she's been driving a Porsche for the last five years, so I guess she's used to hard riding cars. Plus she only drives about 5000km each year, so hopefully won't get tired of the ride. She's going with a 35mm profile so it should be okay ... touch wood! Maybe we shouldn't sell the 18" wheels currently on the car to quickly, just in case she changes her mind! Sweet, good luck with your car sounds like you already know all the important bits. The bad thing about a BMW is the relatively uncommon stud pattern for wheels. The upside of this though is that it usually cuts out the ugly and garish wheels and the offset should be in the right zone. Make sure you post a pic when you've had a play with it. $50 bucks sounds good for the paint, I should really get some of my trim colour coded.
  9. I gave this crowd a call and they said the part was only $40: http://www.apinz.com/display_parts_detail....%20SERIES%20E46 I have the same problem, but ended up modifying the Jap holder in the short term. All sedans have black plastic trim on the bumpers, coupes are colour coded. You'll probably find that there are three separate pieces. If in doubt, post a picture. I agree strongly with Hybrid on the wheels - I think offset is acutally more important than diameter. 8.5 wide with a +35 offset is a good start for front and rear.
  10. You can also remove the strips, cover them in vinyl and replace - 3M scotchcal 7725 works well.
  11. Media. Just a note too, you can use vinyl for colour coding exterior and interior trim pieces. The 3M 7725-120 (Satin Silver) is a good match for Titanium silver. You can get a really top finish with this stuff and I'd highly recommend it as a cheap reversible mod.
  12. I have read there is a similar setup for the sat nav radio albeit using a different button to get there. A lot of people use this setup mode to adjust speed sensitivity so try plug a combination of e39 nav and speed sensitivity in google and you should have some luck. e46 fanatics forum is really good, maybe an e39 equivalent out there?
  13. Hey dude You probably already have a world radio. Put the key into ACC position and hold down the 'm' button for 10 seconds. This will bring up a setup meno that you can scroll through with the < and > buttons. Change the settings using the +/- or number buttons. Using this method, set the area to OCE (Oceania). You get RDS and all. Good luck!
  14. I have just received my Blitzsafe ipod adapter from Enfig Car stereo in the states. This interface goes in place of the standard CD changer and allows you to connect the at ipod line level through the dock connector to the factory stereo. Although it charges the ipod, you cannot use stereo or steering wheel controls to skip tracks nor does it display the song playing on the radio (like the Denison Icelink). Since I do not have steering wheel controls and prefer the display/controls of my video ipod, this is ideal and provides CD quality sounds (depending on the quality of your MP3s). at $US70 ($US90 including 3-5 shipping to NZ = 150 NZ pesos) it is probably the cheapest decent ipod interface with line level quality. You do need some sort of mounting solution though. Overall pretty stoked :pimp: , here is the link if you are interested, these guys offer good service and the best price: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/stor...l/BMW_IPOD.html They have option for standard and DSP radios based on Alpine/Becker design - late E36s and e46s from what I understand.
  15. Hey dude, gorgeous looking car you have there - nice attention to detail. Looks to be well on par with the projects on e46 fanatics, you'll definitely give them a run for their money. A four door e46 M3 look will definitely be appreciated by those in the know, meaning the "phwoars" will more likely come from guys. Ah well. Can I ask what you rim diameter/width/offset/tyre combo is front and rear? I like how you have yours dead flush with the gaurds. I'm currently researching for my e46 sedan. Cheers
