  1. Hi All Have recently purchased an 1997 e39 525i, i am trying to hard wire in my radar detector into the power for the sunroof motor power wire but not having much success. After trolling the net i cannot find which wire tap into to get power. Also need ACC power as opposed to constant power. i have pulled the panel out with the sunroof switch on it and also the reading lights. Obviously a set of 3-4 wires heading to the sunroof switch and 4-5 heading to the reading lights. Also in the roof are another bunch of wires (maybe 10) but i can’t see where they run too) Can any one give me some guidance, it would be greatly appraciated. Matt

  6. my one is cracked, does any one have a spare/unused one they want to get rid off? Thanks, Matt
  7. The tyres are unwarrantable anyway, so will need to get new ones in the next week. In saying that they did not mention about excessive wear on the inside.
  8. Turns out it was 6 or 7 small rubber balls inside the tyre. These apparently come off the tyre over time and the fact that i had so many in there unbalanced the tyre at speed. Learn somthing new everyday
  9. Thanks ill have a closer look tomorrow and see how we go
  10. Hi all this morning when driving to work i noticed that my e36 had a slight vibration, and it got worse the faster i drove. after checking all the wheel nuts and having a quick look at steering rack decided to drive home and jack up the car to have a look. When i jacked it up everything looked alright how ever when spinning one of the wheels it sounded like something was rolling around inside the tyre. is this something anyone else has struck or is there something in the wheel arch that may make a similar sound when broken? this seemed to happen overnight completely randomly as i haven't hit a curb or anything like that. Thanks is advance for your help matt

  13. hey guys im having some problems with my auto box whats happening is when im driving along and it goes to change up a gear, ithe revs rise quickly and nothing happens, sounds like a slipping clutch on a manual, but then when it finally does get a gear its real rough, or often when taking off from lights it just wont change as it should and will rev right out with foot on maybe a quarter throttle.. to me sounds like its f**ked but just wondering what my options are could this be a easy fix, with maybe the electronics? is it totally screwed and needs to be rebuilt and does any one know any goods places that can take a look for me in chch, that will charge less than bmw will??
