  1. Does this have performance enhancements over the standard 318ti? Yes - in terms of suspension and handling it sure does - and it has an upgraded exhaust - but it will easily pull redline in top gear which is 230kph on the speedo ( I have only done this once to see if it would ) so its certainly faster than a std one - but I cannot be sure if there have been any engine upgrades. If there were, it may have better cams, but I was never advised of this when I bought it, and I have no way of knowing. I owned a std one prior to this car, and this one is so much better than a std one, it revs very freely.
  2. I have tried to upload more photos - it doesnt seem to be working for some reason - and they are 800x600 so not too big in size As a Ti owner, more would be nice When you first posted there were no photos... sorry I don't make the rules
  3. Reluctantly for sale my 1995 (1st reg ) 318T1 Schnitzer M sport Coupe, Dark blue metalflake, 5 speed manual, NZ new and low ownership (1 family prior to myself) always garaged. 130km. Kenwood 6 spk stereo with Sony Tube Sub in boot. 15" Schnitzer wheels , can also supply 17" BBS if required as extras. All Schnitzer components - body kit, brakes, suspension, exhaust. Half leather seats. All tyres as new. In VG condition, paint has few stone chips at front as expected, but overall VG, Inside excellent. Goes very well, and is real fun car to drive, and deceptively fast. Genuine 220k + Im a little unsure of the value of this car, as they are quite rare in NZ ( BMW AK told me there are less than 10 in NZ ) but I am negotiable at $6500 - which is good value for such a sporty car. The 2x front lower bumper fog lights have been removed ( I was sick of getting stones through the glass ) but I have them and they will be supplied. Only selling as I have no space garaging for it, now we have a new Corolla wagon for work. Has all original manuals and paperwork, has an alarm fitted. ph 03 3387343 0274710810 This car did not come from Japan.

  6. Possibly you have worn starter motor brushes - giving it a thump "settles" them but its a temporary fix Ok,car wouldnt start before and so stuck new starter motor in which seemed to be sweet for about a week, then when a guy came to buy the car...wrote a cheque, done the paperwork...wouldnt f**king start. Any ideas? it's not always but just occasionally and it picks really bad times to not start eg in tight carparks with no hills etc. However it still starts if you smack the starter with a pole...which was once fun but now is just gay. I'm thinking it maybe an electrical fault? HELP! Cheers Ashkan
  7. Latest update - have taken it to the garage - it seems it is a "lockout" problem from the key activated security system - there is no power to the starter - so its off to the Auto Electrician to solve..just in case anyone else has this problem. Update 23-05 - seems that the electrickery that recognises the key ( the immobiliser ) has decide not to recognose the keys anymore ...so it wont start ...what a pain in the ass ....so it will probably have to have a new key and have it programmed = Some hundreds of $$ expected as it has to go to BMW ...surely there must be a way to bypass this system so it does not happen again - anyone know of a way to do this ?
  8. Thanks for your suggestions , am going to try a couple of things today - yes I have a meter. I dont know where the starter solenoid is, so if someone can help point me to where that is that will help. Is there a way to check if the soleniod is faulty ? The lights dont dim when the key is turned so it sound s like solenoid perhaps - are they prone to failure with no warning.? I doubt its the starter motor as they usually show some signs of problems before failing , but will test power to the starter motor. I have since fully charge the battery to take that out of the the possibility list . I have checked all the fuses, and there does not seem to be a fuse for the starter circuit -is that corect ? Thanks Grant
  9. 27-05 - Problem diagnosed and fixed - it was of all things a faulty fuse, the immobiliser fuse ...and when I get the bill it will be the most expensive fuse ever ...I had checked the fuses, the garage had, then it ( the car ) was sent off to the auto electrician , even they tell me the fuse checked OK - then they sent it off to BMW - BMW diagnostics came up with a fault - replaced the fuse and away it went - it must have had a minor fracture in the fuse, almost like metal fatigue - not bad enough to fail a circuit tester, but enough to upset the immobiliser I await the bill.... I have an auto 1995 318Ti ...it has been starting and running fine ...my wife put it in the garage the other day,no problems - today I go to start it and nothing - turn the key, all the normal lights come on , the headlights all work brightly so the battery is not flat .(I have it on the charge just to top it up at the moment, but it appears OK ) When I turn the key to the normal start position there is just nothing from the strarter motor - no clicks no sounds, the strarter just does not respond. Any one got any ideas ? could it be a starter relay, or starter motor fuse ?- have checked all the small plug in fuses I can see and they are all OK ..not sure what the bigger square "boxes" in the fuse block are so didnt touch those, but has anyone any suggestions ? It has not shown any signs prior to this of difficulty to start ...the motor is free - it turns over by socket on the crank. 112KM Thanks
  10. Thanks - so they do... lift the little metal clip with a sharp screwdriver that goes around the head of each end of the strut and then they just pop off
  11. Yes , sorry should have said - the hatchback ones - the bonnet ones are easy , the rear ones have me stumped - without using force ..figured there was a trick to it Thanks as in the boot?
  12. Can some tell me the trick to removing the gas struts on a '95 Ti ? Thanks
  13. Wanted - I pair of foglight hole blanks - have taken the lights out and need a pair of blanks that plug the holes in a 318 Ti
  14. I have an auto 318 Ti - just a quetsion to those more familiar with autos - I am a manual gearbox person at heart, and going to find a Ti manual this year ..but to my question - in E mode it has four gears , but if I put it in sport mode, it only seems to have three speeds - is this normal, or do I have a faulty transmission ? Seems to behave normall other that I figured it should have 4 speeds in sport mode too , just lower ratios. In manual mode it seems to operate normally. Thanks in advance
