  3. Stop taking the piss you lot and give the guy a brake. He does need to do his home work but we all have been in the same situation as we built up our knowledge base about our own make and model of car etc.
  4. Great read, not just the wiring the suspension. brakes etc etc and a ruptured disc. NUTS, BLOODY GENIUS, BMW enthusiasts take your pick, my hats off to the guy for having a go.

  8. Why is it when you need a camera you can't find one, not even a cell. In Palmy this afternoon and what a feast in about five minutes couldn't believe it. I have been wrong before. First a black 750iL V12 ??? badged on the boot brrmmm by the square Greyish 645Ci nice moving quick Dark green 745i Fin gave it away Bright Blue M3 very quick looking Silver 320D made me look twice Black 528i sorry ordinary Green 740i just got a peak Dark 545i not much left to say and a couple of others 323 and a 523 to put in the mix.
  9. For what it's worth off the BMW site the price of a 335i Coupe, auto $119,900, manual $115,900NZ. With the government , BMW NZ and the dealership all wanting a piece of the pie I would say to many sticky fingers in the mix. At $40,800US with an exchange rate of 72 to the Dollar say that works out around $56,666.66NZ.If my calculator is working correctly that leaves $59,233.34 the difference off the manual price. The government tax on a new vehicle ??? How much do dealers make ??? What BMW NZ would take ???
  10. I know this is in the wrong place just needed to get it out their quickly. All bimmer drivers from Palmy to Wellington if you are interested in an outing go to the Wellington meeting section and under "How often do you go on drives". I have laid out an idea I had for a drive. Need feed back from all interested parties to see if worth while to do a re-con trip and sort out a few details for it. Cheer Allan.

I have never laughed so much, tears running down my face.Guy's you take the cake with this little gem. My daughter got to have a read also and she cracked up when she read Kens comment on St Paul's Cathedral. Keep up the good humor guys just make my day. Cheers Allan
  13. Avenged. SSE hi this has a few goodie's and a body kit to enjoy http://www.autobase.co.nz/vehicle_details....hicle_id=345188 Aliluya how's that new exhaust system working out? mtk540 just to let you know most of our running is open road the shortest round trip would be 50 odd kilometers for us.Have no idea how long a tank full would last town running wise. 3pedals you still pushing that third one home, man its so much easier with only two and you can move the gear shift to the left and still shift it like a manual. Any up date on those tyre with the 97 walls you were running?
  14. Hi Mike as stated if the pocket will permit go for something with a bit more punch I have not regretted it. Have had my first BMW a E39 530i for seven months and find it has all the power, comfort and some . When looking to buy I asked on here and was advised to steer clear of the 520's and after driving a couple could see why.The V8 's have been compromised a little in the steering and balance because of the engine weight etc (correct me 540 owners if wrong). Fuel wise have been getting 700-735k's consistently from a tank full I try to run 98 as it just seems to make it purr. The five series E39 seem to have been a big hit for BMW by the reviews that I have read. They are by no means perfect and due care is needed when purchasing. As for the body kits their are so many available to choose from. Take your time and check them out for quality of product used, work man ship and then the price. That's my 2 cents worth. Allan
  15. MMM!! dumb springs to mind but does he have one!. Allan
  16. What is your personal perception of BMW? Before I owned one and with no prior knowledge of BMW a toffs (bldy rich b#s##d) car. Now I own one just look at the car it says luxury, solid and safe a car you would be proud to own. What makes the cars so good? What makes you think they are! . Like all automobiles they have their faults in all the model ranges but overall they perform well and if maintained will serve the user faithfully for many kilometers. What do you love about them? The solid, comfortable, sure footed feeling one gains after driving one for a while. The awareness of the technology that is present and working for you as you drive your BMW. How do you think BMW is regarded New Zealand wide and particularly by non-BMW owners/drivers?. Do not know. Can only surmise most would say rich man cars and expensive. Maybe so if the car is new but their are more and more coming up for sale so the non driver /owners attitude maybe changing. How do you think people in NZ see BMW drivers? Back at you. What do you think of BMW drivers. As for myself as good or bad as any other driver in NZ What do you think of BMW advertising/marketing? Not interested in it they appear to do very little that I have seen. They need to out their among the people thats were the market is, don't appear to be so ponsey. Did it have an effect on your car choice? It had no effect on my choice I had a number of options that needed to be filled. The E39 that I purchased filled those to a tee.
  17. Have to agree with Yuen on the HID item these need to be fitted with the proper components for them to work correctly. One needs to be careful also as you can run into W.O.F trouble fitting HID kits something I read on the land transport site about it. As regards my problem in the process of checking with a few other forums at the moment about the pros and cons of Xenon,s etc. If I decide to go Xenon will replace the headlights completely have seen some hella's for around $900.00 US If yours is the face lift it should have some thing like this fitted I had to get stuck into my left head light as it had some scratches's and a little cloudy after doing that it did improve the light quality. Found this a while back are you game to try it cheers Allan http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2485084

What do you mean rice rice baby??? If this is some smart comment then it is not warranty thank you!!
  20. Hi Wolfy, So I'm not on my own with this problem. As Yuen said check your adjusters I have had mine replaced by the dealer, as both were broke on mine. To replace them they had to separate the clear front lense from the rest of the head light or it was replace the whole headlight. Also make sure the headlights are clean as this also defuses the light. At present I have the stock H7 halogen 55 watt low and high beam but the low beam are shocking have had them checked for correct adjustment and still no improvement . To be honest my 95 nissan sentra has a better low beam set up than the beamer does but the high beam on her is brilliant. Have been checking out the pro and cons of going to Xenon as a possible remedy. Allan

    Website Build

I'm replying on behalf of my daughter, who is a webdesigner and marketing consultant. A fully functioning CMS, allowing basic page management, contact manager and the like with a visual template and logo would start at around $500. For more complex content (such as products, articles and other searchable and indexed content), you could expect to pay $1000. For a more accurate quote you would need to give full details over what you're after. Some samples of her work include www.uninam.net (a site for a unicycle tour with member profiles, blogs, a fully functioning backend and image management) which went for around $1000, and www.learning4ever.com (another db driven site with a basic shopping cart, searchable products, affiliates and basic content management) which also went for around $1000.
