  10. Hi one and all. Wish to know more from you guys on this bent 540 on Trade me.The damage looks wide spread from the pics. Have asked him for the vin number the reply came back under bent metal come see. Is this a walk away situation or worth a real hard look and see what could be salvaged for resale or replacement on a similar vehicle. Plus the cost of getting it back across the strait to add to the price of it.

    Auxiliary Fan

Hi Jochen; The 395 is the last numbers off the one on my car at present. Looking at sites in the states the numbers they have are 946 etc and the prices ranges from $340.75 to $279.00.Waiting for info back on shipping from Bavarian Autos, Pelican Parts, OEM Bimmerparts and Advance b.m.w parts. Will pm you the info and that would be great to have it checked to see if I'm on the right track with the part number etc. Just had a look on realo.com and the only on still current is 64546921395 at $335.92US the other two listed have ended.

    Auxiliary Fan

Well here we go again....... On Monday my wife Kerry tells me the car is making a real horrible noise, sounds like there's a second motor under the hood with a grinding noise thrown in for good measure. In checking this out I found that the auxiliary fan blades where trying to launch themselves into space, as well as cutting the plastic cover in front of it to pieces. Pulling out the headlights, undoing various front bumper parts, anchor pins and all the wiring that goes with it, I finally had clear access to the fan assembly. Sure enough, when I checked out the fan assembly the play that was present was unreal. After checking out some forums about this problem I found it is not uncommon for these fans to fail. That is only half the problem, because of this poor design it allows heaps of rubbish to be not only dragged in but also sucked in as well. This in turn builds up not only on the cores but in every nook and cranny it can find. With this build up comes extra heat and so forth more trouble. The advice given is to fit mesh guards on the kidney grilles and lower air scoop to minimize the problem with out reducing the air flow to much. A common practice now I believe. During the week I sent off some e-mails for prices and shipping costs for this component, still waiting to hear back from some of them so no further ahead on that score. The mesh guards were next with aluminum mesh, marked out to the shape of the kidney grilles and being careful to get a good neat fit I nibbled away until this was achieved.Tried the mesh for fit once more and then painted them flat black. These were then installed with small dabs of glue on all the contact points and left to dry then refitted to the bonnet. The lower scoop followed a similar pattern but was easier as it had more contact points to attach it to. All that is required now is a fan assembly to complete this project. Oh the joy of owning a BMW!!!!

    Rear end mods

Hi one and all! On the 4th June I asked for opinions on which exhaust set up to go for. Since them have added a few more stages to this project. ;. Went to work on it today and de-badged it that is stage two completed. Stage three is the fitting of the Celis LED tail lights in the pipe line at present. The final stage is a spoiler like the look of the Schnitzer 3 piece one but may have to wait as they are not cheep. Still in research mode on that one your comments on one or all stages welcome. Regards Allan.

You seem board 3pedals Ha Ha Ha !!. How are those 97's working out. Entscheidend I have Goodyear eagles F1's on the front of my e39, running 235/45R17 they have done around 5,000ks and are quiet and the handling is good. Was told their is not much in it between the Sport Max and the F1's. Have a chat to Zennetti when you have made up your mind.

  21. Taken from a BMW magazine and posted in General discussion 25th April Silver-blue BMW 7 series Engine V12-cylinder Capacity 5972cc Output 192kw Top speed 230km/h 0-100km/h 9.5sec Range: H2 approx 200km petrol approx 500km http://www.bmw.com/cleanenergy Given a bmw mag 1/2007 and it had this article. A hydrogen /petrol powered 7 series. The 760i 12cylinder, vanos camshaft adjustment direct injection. It would appear that the h2 mixture is delivered up stream of the combustion chamber and mixed with air a variable valve controls the feeding of the mixture into the combustion chamber very late in order to avoid misfiring as h2 is easier to ignite and burns much faster than petrol and so forth it goes on to say.
