  1. Hey foks, I am looking to get my E39s' receiver drier replaced and re-gassed/oiled. Is it still Peter at Coolcar Mankau? Any other onto it options in the Puke area?
  2. Hi folks, My 540 Msport got hurt and I am looking for a good repair shop that will understand when I say I have the aftermarket head light adjuster arms fitted and get her back to good as new. I am out in Hunua so Puke is on the cards? Thoughts?
  3. Hi Folks, I am probably about to buy a 2012 C63 (yes apologies in advance) so I am thinking about selling and wondering what she might be worth. Some of you will know how ridiculously anal I have been with this car but for those that don't know the history there are a few highlights below off the top of my head. It is either keep it for the wife or on sell. I have put so much time and love into her I would actually prefer she went to someone that was keen and able to continue to enjoy and take care of her. The car that is not the wife! I am sure I am going to have my head in the next project as I try to get a proper 540hp out of the C63 and make it go around corners so I wont be able to continue to take care of her like I should. Let me know if this might be a good fit for someone. If so I'll roll up a proper for sale thread. NZ new 130ks, almost all open road driving during my 75k stewardship. 8. Mate, seriously, there will be some people that do a very good job, any useful advice, I really don't need the banter right now.
  9. Hi folks, Any thoughts on a good crowd that knows their way around beemmas? And open tomorrow....
  10. I can't report on how it feels in the car just yet and I don't expect to as it looks like mine were all good except for #6 which was only slightly out and the clean bought back into spec. When I used to do this job in the trade I would often see a very noticeable difference in spray patterns before and after and saw many an injector stop leaking. We had an ultrasonic cleaner that pulsed and flowed at the same time.
  11. Hi all Dimitry has confirmed that he does use an ultrasound bath as part of his process. He did say that you are better to replace an injector that is suspect rather than trying to resurrect it with ultra sound. He does not have a ultrasonic bath that allows him to pulse and flow the injectors at the same time. He said that pulsing them dry is a sure way to over heat and damage them so he doesn't pulse them in the bath. Out of curiosity does anyone have an ultrasonic bath that flows and pulses the injectors at the same time?
  12. Hi guys. This is progressing well. I managed to break the crank shaft bolt with (quite) a few kicks from the starter. I used the jack to hold the 3/4" breaker bar on the bolt and a block of wood to spread the impact load onto the body. It needed about 15 hits over about 1/2 a turn before it became hand tight. It works best if you let the bar have a bit of a run up before it hits the wood. Say 10mm. See photos for more detail. With regards to tighting it back up again. Has anyone got/made a tool for holding the crankshaft on a M62 that I could borrow? - Something like this? 13. Hi all. I found some nice write ups for doing the timing chain guides and in particular timing the camshafts which is all part and parcel of what I am doing here. See attached. Note: You will need to remove the .zip extension from files named z0(x) to extract the pdfs as we are not able to upload files with unknown extensions or files over 2MB. Vanos guide replacement and timing.zip Vanos guide replacement and timing.z01.zip Vanos guide replacement and timing.z02.zip Vanos guide replacement and timing.z03.zip Vanos guide replacement and timing.z04.zip Vanos guide replacement and timing.z05.zip Vanos guide replacement and timing.z06.zip As mentioned in the docs we need to tension the chain before dialling in the VANOS with a special tool. Does anyone have access to one of these torque limiting screwdrivers that will measure to 6 in-lb (0.7NM)?
