  1. Not big numbers just over the 200hp mark I'm no Bathurst racer.Maybe i should just get a Subaru wrx as at least parts for them aren't that hard to get over here.Just didn't want to be flagged as a p plater racer over here similar to the boy racer title over there. Thanks for the words of wisdom guys
  2. Thanks for that yeah read few reviews on them seem like your right with the electrics. But a good solid engine and box will do me.Was going to with a Volvo but the Mrs is not keen on them lol. Some have service history but not many over here it's more of just local workshops doing what they can. I will get a pre purchase check from the local euro specialist done before i fork over the $$$$ fingers crossed a good example shows up.I won't need to much power to keep me happy just a bit more go then the 318i haha.
  3. Yeah make it two of the big bottles and i need them by tonight too lol.Great work love the good ol kiwi ingenuity would have loved to do that to my 36.Looking forward to see what sort of numbers it makes with the dryer set up wish more people went with the 4cylinder forced set ups.We have so many 316/318's over to play with but most turbo set ups are 6cylinders.Go the fast 4's
  4. Hey guys been thinking of moving to an Audi but still keeping the BM as a daily driver for a little while. After trying to work out the cost and work involved in to getting my E36 318i to the level i want.I have decided to make a sane decision and just leave the BM alone and use it as a daily driver and save and buy a Audi A4 (B5) 1.8T around the mid 90's era. Have taken two for a drive but the colour choices haven't been me faded red and a silver/grey one prefer black or basic white.Performance was great from the 4pot motor the brakes were a bit of a let down but a upgrade should sort that out.Rides great and love the handling reminding me of Subarus. So just wanted to get some real people reviews from over the ditch on owning and living with one.As most euro's cost a arm over here there aren't so many examples but looking on trade me you guys have a wide selection over there. So what are your thoughts on them general servicing common troubles etc also modifying them such as turbo, intercooler, exhaust, suspension upgrades. It will be used as another road car and i would like to use it for track days nothing to serious just some weekend fun.Any input would be really appreciated
  5. Would be keen to see the turbo set up on the M42

    Quick Questions

Hey guys went for a drive today went to lock my drivers door by pushing the drivers door lock down.It just springs back up like a spring still opens from the outside no problems.Locks and unlocks with the key with no problems.Has something fallen off etc any ideas what it could be before i try and attempt to take the door skin off.Cars a 95 E36 4D Thanks guys
  7. Great project have you run this set up on a dyno yet?.Is the engine a M42B18 or M44B19?
  8. Thanks guys will grab some CRC underbody seal spray and have a hunt for that Penetrol stuff too.
  9. Well i am sure some of you guys that have lowered E36's can help me out.I try avoid steep driveways, speed bump, generally things that try and destroy my cars underside. But every now and then it gets caught out and scrapes because of my stupidness .Ive checked under the car i can see where it scrapes just at the front chassis rails both sides. So what is the best product to use to cover up the exposed metal?.Didn't want to just spray it with matt black paint or is that the answer?any info would be great. Thanks
  10. Tyre shined the 36's wheels for that fresh over sprayed silicon look from a dodgy car yard effect
  11. Hey thanks guys for the advice I've decide to leave the m43B18 alone. And just use it till i have a new engine to swap over. But it will be a m50b25 or m52b28 when i do just have too see whats available at the time.I will do brakes and suspension upgrade and a manual conversion on this engine thou.I don't want to make big power just a bit of go that i can use at track days etc.Holden conversions haha nah wanted to stay with a Bmw engine and one that was originally fitted to that model.
  12. Hey fellow bimmersport members what are your opinions on modifying a M43B18 is it worth it?.So far i have given the car a service oil, coolant, filters, spark plugs, radiator, water pump replaced.I am happy with it but wanted to know is it even worth modifying it further.Like exhaust system,CAI, i do plan to change the car to a manual so that might make it more lively. So if i do go with a engine swap what would guys recommend oh and it might sound silly spending cash on a 318i but i'm in Queensland Australia and 320i's and up cost a arm maybe a leg too. Cheers Jason
