  1. It does indeed sound like a bleeding issue. They can be a pain to bleed. Especially if you have changed the heater core. Have you tried priming the heater core? Disconnect the hoses and jam the garden hose into it. Run water through it while slightly restricting the outlet so it builds a little pressure. I've done this to a couple of cars. If you have an airlock the thermostat may never open. If you suspect the heater core is still the problem you can join the two hoses bypassing it. Test to see if it is still occurring. Also have you replaced the viscous fan clutch? If not you should.
  2. NZ new ones are nearly always poverty spec.
  3. Just about every E87 I see has been abused. Just like the E36's and E46's of years gone. Soon it will be just the loved ones left and the price may go back up. Or they will be forced off the market by a government acting like we are as rich as Norway. Why aren't you all buying 100K Tesla's yet guys? Can I interest you in this absolutely f**ked fresh import Leaf with a range of 55kms?
  4. FYI. Be very careful with exhaust volume. At the Police Officers discretion they can Pink Sticker your car for excessive noise. If this occurs you will be required to undergo an official noise test. Once completed you are then required to certify your exhaust. Even if you do all this you are still at the mercy of the Police Officers discretion in the future. They are not bound by your new cert at all and require no proof. Was recently reading a story in a unofficial certification help page of someone who just went through all this. Even changing back to a stock exhaust did not help and they still needed to follow the process to remove the green sticker. Cops are using it in a way to temporarily get vehicles off the road loud or not.
  5. So is this a bypass of the OG oil separator?
  6. Ah yeah looks like I am going to replace the cover. Mod never seems to work for long. I want to buy this just for the laughs. https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005004463129382.html Even comes with gaskets haha.
  7. Is there a mod or way to replace the breather/oil separator on LCI 130i's without having to replace the entire cover? Mine is blocked and causing oil leaks. Found it. For an N55 but the same process. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1758775 What a stupid f'n design. A part that has failed on every model of BMW since its introduction. Suddenly they integrate it into the rocker cover... Edit: Seems like the mod never works. Stoked about chucking away $500 to fix what is a $30 problem on an E46.
  8. Mine was behaving in a similar way. Did you take notice of how much fluid came out? Fingers crossed you have stopped it.
  9. Looks like a well sorted 535i that could be turned into a stunner. Just like an E30 but better and cheaper. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/4324187882?tm=email&et=45&mt=79F4475F-6C8D-4859-8EC2-79132A4FA124&bof=qQMhrgaC
  10. You could DIY these no problem. There is nothing difficult about it other than getting the car up on jack stands. But make sure you know the filling process for the gearbox. It is not as simple as filling it to the fill plug. Get a kit from somewhere like fcpeuro. https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/128i/Transmission/?year=2008&m=20&e=2053&t=5&b=9&d=829&v= But with NZ's currently very poor exchange rate you would only be saving $350.
  11. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/119000884602442/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A520ef6cf-b343-4e21-a519-1d0012cd344d The description for the listing is nearly as retarded as the current prices for E30's. "had some work done to the motor dont know what make an offer" $7K
  12. Awesome perfect timing for me. Repco has 30% off the same however they have more options for sizes. But are still more expensive per liter. 6L $77.70 = 12.95/l 20L $211.40 = 10.57/l Supercheap 5L $48.49 = 9.70/l
  13. Sometimes the generic odb readers have trouble clearing codes with BMWs. Especially if they are a cheaper copy. I have about a dozen of them and the only reliable one I have is the bimmergeeks one and their software. Only issue is it doesn't work with anything not BMW. There should be someone nearby that has something that can help.
  14. Clear the Airbag fault and see if it comes back. Looks like an old stored coms code. If it was a concern your airbag light would be on. Second stuff for emissions is pointless generic stuff. It doesn't mean any of the sensors have failed. You would need to check the live data for them and check if they are within tolerance.
  15. I came across a classic vehicle review of a E34 535i Sport in Ireland. He mentions their NCT (WOF) can be exempt for immaculately kept classics. I looked into it a little more and it is for any vehicle over 40years old. It means they only require a check every two years. https://www.irishvintagescene.ie/new-nct-legislation/ Wouldn't this be great for NZ. An extended WOF for classics meaning no more 6 monthly waste of time and money as long as your car is not a pile of junk. As our Rego/WOF/RUC system looks to go digital these sort of categories could easily be added at the same time.
  16. About a couple of weeks. It progressively gets worse. As this gearbox is in around a dozen other cars including some American stuff there are a few fixes online. One is a product called Dr Tranny's Shudder Stop. After a proper service and this I have not had it shudder again in around 40-50k.
  17. It could be tool dependant and even vehicle dependant. My old E87 doesn't say either. I just select the battery from a list and away I go. Using Bimmergeeks software.
  18. Great I guess I will be getting the same thing from AA soon. Rising thefts. How is this our problem? This is not a Mazda or Toyota forum.
  19. Changed the Rotors and Pads and all the small brake bits on my 130 on the weekend. Was the easiest and smoothest brake change I have ever done. It makes such a difference when the person who last did something on your vehicle did it correctly with the correct tools and the right amount of care. So thanks to @GorGasm for either doing this right or having had someone capable of doing it. Also those brakes lasted 70K which is amazing. Febi Bilstein pads and rotors came off. Brembo pads and rotors went on.
  20. Check out the dealer that is selling it. Buy sh*t car. Clean it. List it for silly price. Wait for muppet to buy it. Repeat. Obviously works quite well. Example: 10K for a 86 Corolla. And we are not talking anything you would actually want. http://www.xtmotors.co.nz/used-cars-for-sale/149778
  21. Considering this is accessing an api of which will be costing the Government a massive sweet F all.. I think I will sign.

I hope the seller makes all the scummy car dealers fight in driveway to see who gets to list it at double that price for the next 2 years.
  23. @promo will be able to help with the repairs. Based in wellington.
