I also washed mine last weekend, needed it!

Have you enquired with BDS about their filter/intake pipe combo? Quoted me 320 pounds, for about a 15hp gain over a K&N filter with stock pipe which is pretty decent for a bolt on.

I kinda want to see pictures of it, hes really cagey about it. Im dubious, and if its 320 pounds for some 2" alloy pipe segments welded together would be less than impressed.

  2. Gave mine a wash in the weekend, sitting at 297,000km... need to get that last 3000 before the new lump gets in.

Been hunting endlessly for a Simota airbox, cant find anything, looks like no longer available... once the MILVs/Tune/Headers are in its about all thats left on the list (short of that BMWP wheel with the digital read out...) The GruppeM intakes are available, but from what Ive seen first hand not really worth the price 😕

  3. Kayne recommends 75W140 in them FWIW, mine has Royal Purple 75W140 in it and touch wood all is good and the Quaife is a happy chappy (Quaife recommend 75W90). I ran Penrite progear 75W90 for nearly 150,000km and had no issues, but, did have pinion bearing die (it had 290,000km on it though)

    I want to replace my Z4 E85 (2005) - brakes and rotors.

pitshop quoted me $1200 which is a rip off.

Where should I get the parts from and which brand you guys would recommend?

    i will do it myself..

Thats cheap if they arent rubbish brakes. Why would take it it to pitstop anyway? Cheapest on any BMW id bother installing is ATE, sh*t brakes are sh*t.

  5. Makes ya wonder how differently the market would have responded if the DCT was ever stuck to the N52. Its there in the coding options just was never sold.

Manual definitely suits the 130, but agree... if you are going to beat on it in stop start traffic get an auto, then buy a manual for the weekend :) I like the DSG in the skoda, it is a good compromise, but still not the same as a manual box when "not commuting"

Who does everyone use for parts supply? My Mickey Mouse hose has split and I am need of a quick replacement to get me out on the track this weekend.
Been quoted $200inc gst for a genuine replacement but looking at other options including the billet flanges but need one asap.
    cheers

    Dave

Amazon prime sometimes does really quick deliveries. If you are really hard up I have an aluminium mickeymouse one here, might be able to courier it to Qtown by the weekend.

  7. I had worn RE003s on the front of the VRS, still couple of mm of tread... thing is sketchy as sh*t in any rain (its also eating the fronts at an awesome rate). Aquaplanes all over the place on SH1. Just rotated them to try and kill a full set then will probably go to some Hankook Evo3s and hope they work better.

  8. Just "drove" my route for 10km on google maps street view, only speed sign I saw was an open road speed sign laying in a ditch. Was one of roads that had their speed dropped in the gubments latest crackdown... its just no one remembered to put signs out it seems.
