    G8X CSL #1

    F90 M5 competition #2

    F80 M3 #3

Any one of these can can be short shitfted at 3500 -4000 rpm and deal to the majority of the listed so far. And BMW finally have sorted braking performance with these models.

Sure, they would waste most of the list, but are they really "drivers cars" when it's electronic gizmos doing all the work? Give me an analogue car anyday.

In the same theme, but more of a disappointment than a rant...

Selection of items from the Rockauto site. So much - massively - cheaper than anywhere in NZ.

Until shipping is added.  Note to self: Rockauto source from multiple locations and shipping is paid on each location.

Now checking if MyUS will change the situation from my perspective.

Yeah always check which warehouse it's shipped from. If you get everything from the same warehouse it shouldn't be too bad (although post COVID shipping has been more expensive anyway)

all depends on your use case, and how much you're willing to forgive Wolfsberg for intentionally misleading and gassing humans... 😎

They're both a nice drive.   Your $6k discount is directly attributable to Dieselgate!

Who hasn't had a good scandal tbh. If you were worried about the ethics of your car, you wouldn't have a car.

Have found a 630i... The brief 645i idea was quashed after more research because while great when i is running, it's natural habitat (according to more than one review) is in a workshop. That's not going to work.
The 630i I found has a N52 engine. Not impervious to issues but much better. It also has an early iDrive which can be an issue - I need to do more reading/learning around that.
Very nice-looking car, and originally designed for the sort of use I'd need. Whether it'd continue to be good at that over a longer period is also something I don't know.

If you can, try to find one that has as few gimmicks as possible. Active steering, active headlights and dynamic drive are the three i would try to avoid if possible, due to unreliability. Otherwise it should be a pretty solid, albeit big, car.

Suspect that E9x wheel with paddles isn't just for show!

    Looks amazing.

Not to mention the tiptronic gate on the shifter too

Gorgeous looking car and awesome conversion. I bet the colour combo with the leather looks great

  6. IMO the N62 is a dog of an engine, with many well known, although serious, issues that they all seem to suffer eventually. Sure, you can fix them all one by one, but by that point you have spent thousands on just the engine, and havent even begun to work on the issues the E63/64 platform has. I'd take an E46, or even an E90, over another of those horrible land whales any day.

Theres a reason you are finding them in your budget...

I don't see any issue with this.  He's putting in the effort so he can profit from it.

My impression was that the person giving them away was hoping they went to someone that wanted parts for their car, not for some wanker to try and make a buck. Chucking it on trademe isnt "putting in the effort".

Because the "knobs" know the market better than the owners and sellers.........😁

Doesnt matter what the market is doing, if the owner is happy to take a certain price 🤷‍♂️ (unless its over priced, but the seller will figure that out in time and also doesnt need someone harping on about it being over priced...)

I see its back due to the buyers finance falling through (bet that'll happen a lot now too).

Already has some knob in the comments saying its worth more and to remove the $30k buy now. I dont know why people do that, if the seller is happy with $30k, let them do what they want.

Anyone know who to contact when a DHL package has been sitting in NZ without delivery since the 26th?
The DHL investigation process is next to useless.  First time I have had issues with DHL.  But of course it is the NZ side of things.  It left Germany and arrived in NZ in just over a day....  Maybe the courier here is still navigating the potholes on SH1.

Its probably been handed off to Aramex or something. Try the tracking number in a couple of different carriers sites and see if it pops up.

The dream. Garage stud height might not agree though. Seen those Quickjacks? They look pretty good, still like 3 or 4 grand though.

I have a set, have had everything on them from a Classic Mini to my E63 650i. I paid about 2.5K for them about 6 years ago. They are very handy, especially for things you need a car level for, like trans servicing or tyre rotations. A+ will keep using them.

Ryobi seems nice if you’re doing stuff other than automotive. One+ range is vast. Their ratchet seems too big to be convenient for auto though.

Nothing wrong with Ryobi for automotive, but I do agree the ratchet is a bit big; I have one and wish i didnt buy it. The rattle gun, drill, grinder, torches etc have all done me well.

Ryobi one+ batteries are crap. We have 5, 1 works.

I have 5 genuine batteries (2x 5ah, 1x 4ah, and two smaller ones), none of them have any issues. Most are 4+ years old now, with regular use.

These seem like pretty premium tools. I take it domestic brands like Bahco/Fuller hold up fine for light hobbyist use?

ive been beating on an old Fuller Pro 1/2" socket set for years, with no issues. My advice is to buy the best quality you can (within reason, dont go running to the Snap-On truck) or risk buying twice (especially when it comes to things like hex sockets; i bought cheap, stripped a hard to get at bolt and regretted my life choices; the Bahco hex socket i replaced the Supercheap one with fit 100x better in the head of the bolt).

Regarding battery tools, its also worth seeing what else in the battery-ecosystem you want. I have Ryobi One+ 18v for everything, because I have a lot of tools now and they all use the same battery, including my lawn mower. I treat them hard, work on anything and everything and nothing has let me down yet.

My go-to for tools for most work is my socket set, a ratcheting spanner set and a couple of good screwdrivers. I have most tools these days to do most jobs, but most of them i bought as I needed them.
