  1. Hi guys, Im interested in this e39 that has popped up for sale at ChCh European: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m5/listing/4564930233?bof=uZwwqzBJ Does anyone know of this car or it's history? I know that it was for sale in Hamilton a few weeks back - a couple of screenshots below from that listing. Looks like the dealer has tidied it up a bit since then (most noticeably the steering wheel) I haven't viewed it yet - I think I may struggle with comfort seats and chrome brightwork, but I guess that could be swapped out without too much drama... Cheers Paul
  2. Maybe check coolant temperature is getting hot enough to allow better efficiency, and that it is also allowing the DPF to do the required occasional burn-off? (needs to get to over 88 degrees I think). I have an earlier e60 Diesel and it has had 2 x faulty thermostats over 80,00km and that resulted in worsening fuel economy until fixed. You will need to access the hidden dash menu to get readout of coolant temp or a scanner with real-time data readings.
  3. A couple of screenshots from when it was last listed for sale in August 2022. Sad to loose one of the better examples from our roads.
  4. Here’s a few more from the Skope Classic…
  5. +1 on the Golf R. Even in DSG format they are epic. Mk7.5 is peak Golf R in my opinion.

  7. I think that there has also been a distinct "drought" of e39 M5s coming onto the market for the last year or so (but a reasonable number of e46 M3s), and when those 3 M5s popped up recently, there was pent-up demand to see them snapped up quickly.
  8. Also a ciggie packet in the passenger foot well, so you never have to reach too far to find them! Not a bad price, considering that it's NZ new, and a Manual (albeit converted). But, yeah, looks like it needs a bit of a tidy up...
  9. An unremarkable e46 Sedan in CHCH with annoying (to me) rego plate placement.
  10. In Reefton a few weeks ago - proof that Estoril Blue does not maketh the car…
  11. A tidy NZ New 328i ‘vert. Plate was “DEBS1”
  12. Parked at the end of a quiet street in CHCH. A pinnacle of 1980s German efficiency and luxury. Apparently the “ee” designation was a NZ thing…
  13. A couple of 325i e30s competing at the Hawkswood Sealed Sprint today in North Canterbury. The black one was quite possibly the best sounding car of the day. On the way back to CHCH, also saw a Silver-Grey E46 M3 on what looked like CSL’s heading north on SH1. Rego FZC 299
  14. Would be interested to see if the new owner is on here. That dealer Estoril coupe is still available for anyone that missed out and doesn’t mind spending a few thousand more !
  15. That one certainly looks good, although not keen on those wheels. I'm always suspicious of low Km Japanese(?) imports, but this one does indeed look like genuine kms - those Ivory seats still look very sharp.
  16. Oh, yeah - that’s nice too. Great colour combo - that interior would have been stunning when new, but still looks quite acceptable now.
  17. …and this e24 I spotted a few weeks back at an automotive shop in CHCH. Originally had a MX____ plate when new, so possibly from the same dealer / NZ city as the e28 above?
  18. Manual NZ New M535i e28 in CHCH
  19. This one is an auto, but checks a lot of other boxes… Estoril e36 Coupe Will probably be snapped up quickly at that price…
  20. Another factory manual Motorsport coupe to keep an eye on… https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3299016546.htm Gotta love those factory cassette holders!
  21. Very tidy e46 M3 SMG - looked to be fresh-off-boat and yet to be complied - F2AT M-tex interior with a Recaro drivers seat. Will no doubt pop up at a ChCh Car dealer anytime soon...

    BARGAIN M6

Yeah, I saw that come up for sale today. I suspect that the vendor intended to have it listed for at least a week , but may have made an error on the auction end date, with it closing the same day of listing. I'm sure if more people were aware of the listing that it would have gone for a lot more... I would put the value of the S85 at around $10k alone at 50,000 genuine km.
  23. Here’s another 328i Motorsport Coupe that popped up on TradeMe yesterday - will be interested to see where the pricing ends up. This one’s a factory manual and NZ New. Doesn’t look to be as tidy as the Estoril example, but still appears to be honest. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-3258069709.htm
