I've been lucky enough to drive an Enzo a few times and also completed a car rally in one. You are correct - it is an epic car and certainly iconic. Personally I think the F40 is the most iconic look of the more modern Ferraris, whilst a 275 GTB/4 is in my mind the iconic classic Ferrari being front engined.

The P1 sure looks good. From all the reports I have read it does seem a level or 2 above the 918, but we will have to wait until La Ferrari is out to see who is king. My prediction - La Ferrari is faster in a straight line (just), whereas P1 will be the quickest on track, and on big F1 tracks it will be in a different class.
