  1. So to show a few people how noisy (i believe) my exhaust is on cold starts, I recorded a short clip on cold start - 2009 135i - exhaust midpipe ~ second cat + resonator replaced with straight pipe (previous owner ) http://retrojedy.uni.cc/135i_exhaust.mp3 post yours!!!!!!!!!
  2. Heya Yeah I checked out the BMW NZ link you gave me and that 15kw gain is from engine, as per my guess they don't do any change to the midpipe, and yeah you're right the midpipe is pretty much the least restrictive part of the whole exhaust. The previous owner of my car cut out the second cats & resonator in the midpipe, and replaced the gaps with straight pipe. So [thats why] I'm looking for an oem used/new midpipe to put in!
  3. Hmmm bro I'm not 100% sure on this but I frequent a 1series forum and last I read, BMW's performance accessories don't replace the second cat/midpipe.. Again, I wouldn't quote myself, but I think thats the case. BMW Parts guy in the Newmarket auckland dealership said the whole set'd come out quite expensive. So tryina source an aftermarket one.. Could you perhaps ask your mate if his midpipe was replaced? I'd be keen to buy the stock one for sure
  4. Heya Can anyone recommend a workshop which imports / fits aftermarket brand exhausts for newish BMW's? Looking to get a new midpipe fitted for my 2009 135i.. At this stage I'm trying to source an OEM midpipe though my fallback plan is an aftermarket midpipe which retains Cats + that box thing whatever it is (resonator?) I'm on the North Shore Any recommendations appreciated. FYI: the oem midpipe I'm after
  5. Not sure how much bandwidth you guys use, though far as I'm aware Pricespy runs on webdrive, so I'm sure there's a suitable webdrive plan for this site that would be affordable/reliable etc. just a thought
  6. On the shore my mate recommended "Burgers Motorworks" on wairau road glenfield, behind pitstop Haven't had any work done there though I gave him my number, he said he'd call me if he could source a second cat for my exhaust. No luck just yet though :/
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Tail-Light-...sQ5fAccessories "Light Smoke Blocks 13% Allows 87%" But if any tint is illegal well okay then. Though I doubt anybody takes it that seriously if it's a light tint like the one above.. This aint nazi germany
  8. lol bro webdrive, $30 a month, new zealand owned
  9. Gonna be wild Please resize this image & repost thankyou
  10. I've been on ebay and theres a few people selling LED lighting strips. Like the ones below, just wondering if anyone knows a place that would offer these kind of things, or as with my tint story, would I be best to buy on ebay + pay for a local to install, and if so can someone recommend a place in auckland?
  11. sorry for the confusion man, forgot everyone says it the other way round lol.. The tints Im talking about on ebay is 13% blocked, 87% light allowed So in the reverse terms you're thinking about its 87% tint lol which is pretty legal far as I know
  12. lol relax bro I'm talking about 13%(block),87%(allowed) tints see here: http://www.rvinyl.com/tintkits/smoked/taillight/bmw/e82.htm
  13. lol i dont want spray or taillights Im talking vinyl (or whatever the material is) tint overlay... Guess given the response I should stick with ordering off ebay lol...
  14. diesel is the new petrol...
  15. So I nabbed myself a 135i at last lol Just wondering does anyone know of a place in auckland that would do a light smoke tint for the tail lights.. I'm not really keen on one that would involve sticking it on and cutting it while it's on the car itself (if thats how its done for cars where a precut one isn't available) If thats the case, would I just be better off buying the precut tints online and getting a design/vinyl shop to put them on for me? Cheers
  16. Heya Just wanting to hear what fuels people regularly use / their car models they're using them in. Just wanting to hear peoples thoughts on Gull Force 10 and using it on the new Bmw 135i/335i engines They're a 3L Twin Turbo (n54 model engine) I emailed gull customer service and they told me its 90% 95Octane petrol, 10% ethanol, with an overall rating of 98-99 What do you guys think, would this be safe to run? I've read a massive writeup here about the engine / e85 (85% ethanol) and the guy seems to think it's fine.. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227652 Thoughts / feedback?
  17. Great thanks I'll get in touch with the BMW dealership / owner tomorrow and see what they say Fingers crossed :| PS: Where would I be best to look if i a. wanted to buy a stock midpipe for cheaper than from BMW dealer or b. wanted to find someone who's upgraded their exhaust and still has the old exhaust pipe Cheers!
  18. Oh great i see.. What would you advise. Would it still be able to get a Protecta warranty / insurance without it?
  19. Hi there Been checking out a secondhand 135i coupe One issue I have is the guy has removed the second catback. Just wanna know if anyone knows what the price on this would be to put it back in terms of parts + labour I was looking @ http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=18&fg=10 but couldn't really find an individual price... all I know is that as he said "second cat removed" so if anyone could advise what the cost would be to return this to standard by putting the second cat back in?
  20. Thanks for that. What about this. 2003 Mercedes CLK55 AMG. 14,995POUND. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...01008353275194/ Google says thats roughly 32,000NZD. What cost can i expect on this landed in NZ?
  21. no luck with that japanese one anyway I found one example on autotrader.co.uk http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...201006352246563 23,995 pound So how much you reckon that'd cost delivered to NZ including import taxes or watever
  22. Hi there Sorry if I'm jacking this thread lol, but I also am considering importing a bmw, from UK i guess I'm looking for a BMW 135i (only 1 used for sale, rest at dealers for $80k+) or BMW 125i (this model is not sold in nz) I'm just curious.. 1. what would the average cost be of importing a bmw from the UK if it's like 2008+ model (eg. 135i) 2. Is it just a matter of finding a dealer who's willing to ship it to us or what? 3. is autotrader.co.uk the place to look? or what about japan? i can't find a decent website that has japanese stock. can someone link me Cheers
