  1. Thats very interesting I was always just assuming BMW Mercedes etc = imported from germany. But I can absolutely understand the logic behind it. I wish NZ dealers had better stock of the 1 series... Getting rather tired of hearing "there are none in the country"
  2. cool where can i find them. member list?
  3. If this has been discussed to death... sorry. I've been talking to all the big brand dealers lately in the hunt for a car. The general concensus from them is that diesel is getting more popular by the day. I went to VW in newmarket and saw a black passat cc 125KW diesel Came back the week after and it was sold.. Personally I'm still not a fan just cause of the noise and just for the fact that it sounds cheap driving a diesel lol. That said, I wanted to get everyones opinions / thoughts on Diesel / Petrol in 2010, in relation to BMW and other Car companies current offerings. ps: is Diesel "the future" (mercedes newmarket, auckland dealer rep lol)?
  4. Hahaha cheers for the feedback. Can someone who either works for a dealer or who knows the market tell me, generally speaking.. What is the average depreciation in NZ on the value of a BMW 1,2 &3 years after sale. It's essentially so I can sort of gauge how this price really is. It's a 2009 registered model, but it arrived in new zealand in june 2008 so It's basically just short of 2 years old. New price was & still is around $89,000 for a 135i
  5. Hi there looking at a 135i Only one on trademe right now is this one here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-268971468.htm Just curious. ran a check on carjam http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=EUY921 # Assembly type: Imported Built-Up # Country of origin: United States Of America Just wondering why it says USA? Thought all of them came from Germany?? Is this cause for concern?
  6. Oh so thats why they blank out the plate...
  7. soz 2 to hear that bra your story reminds me of when I was working in town once and this dude came to my work & asked if we'd seen this old school car with rollcage and everything stolen
  8. why you crying? & who asked anyone to care? Wanted the car been more proactive? What are you on? I didn't miss out on the car I decided not to buy it. lol @ misinterpretations x2 Was just giving the full details for COSM0S who was trying to act tough & rasumadu who suggested I post it Cheers
  9. Thanks for the helpful feedback crockett & E46-RAT I would perhaps taking into consideration RATs comments, be better off getting a 330CI than an M3 Regarding white it's my favourite colour so I will jump at any NZ New one if I can find.. Regarding that 330CI you linked, it's 03 but not facelift & its the same dealer as last time, rubbish customer service - rules that out As you say though it's gonna be a mission to find a white 3 series coupe but I have seen one for sale previously...
  10. We never had an appointment I went to the dealership on thursday to check with the dealer if the finance was sorted yet He was not there at the time, I rang him & he told me the finance was getting cleared that day & asked if I was keen on the car I said yes I was quite keen and would most likely be in sometime the next day day assuming it was all clear & assuming the WOF/brake discs/pads(which needed immediate changing) were sorted & he said "yeah we've already changed those and it's READY TO GO" For COSM0S and those thinking I wasted the dealers time, 1. the dealer is open every day of the week especially on a friday, he did NOTHING out of the ordinary even if he was anticipating me or anyone coming to get the car 2. The Car did not & still does not, have a new warrant of fitness so had I actually gone along on the day I would have refused to make the purchase and hand over the cheque anyway until the car had a WOF which no doubt would have taken another day at least http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=bsr983 Friday was pouring in rain, and citybound traffic was literally bumper to bumper from albany so I had no intention of going in to pick it up Saturday he called me and left me a message with the funniest attitude I have experienced in a while His message "Hey its So & So from So & So Cars, I've just come into the dealership on my day off and I see the car is still here you haven't picked it up whats the story let me know" I was laughing too hard to be offended because the guy was talking like I owed him something Didn't have credit at the time so I just texted him a response & said hey mate sorry I couldn't make it in yesterday, will likely be in this week but I've checked online & the WOF hasn't been renewed, I thought you said it was ready to go? Can you let me know, thanks He didn't reply to my text message Sunday he called me again and said hey mate and literally spoke as if he hadn't read my text message The conversation... Hey so & so here, whats the story with the car you didnt come to pick it up. I said yeah sorry I couldn't make it in that day. Before I could even finish my breath he went on the attack. He said, well I'm starting to wonder here mate are you gonna buy the car or not how long am I supposed to wait I've got other people I want to show the car to. I said. yeah I am. He said well can you bring a deposit today, I already had plans for the day and so said no I can't sorry, and he goes ok then i'm going to put it back on the market and show it to people and if you get it you get it. I said ok thats fine and he hung up. Later that day around 4pm I was at a friends house & we went down to the local video store & noticed the exact BMW [bSR983] parked outside the local pub where the dealer was having a laugh & a drink with his pals A++ Customer Service Would deal with again
  11. How am I a tyre kicker based on my other topics? One was about me strongly considering a specific 330CI for sale but being cautious due to finance etc owing on it, which for your information I spent $160 to do an AA inspection on & later did not buy largely due to the dealer & also in part because after thinking it over deciding the mileage was too high The other was an inquiry about carbon fibre bonnets, AGAIN for an E46 3 series coupe In response to your first questions, it will be a daily driven car for sure. I tend to do around 30KM a day on average and somedays 50/60 even. As you can see from my list, I'm keen for performance & show-off factor so firstly am looking for M3/330CI BUT I would also consider the lower engine models if they were in WHITE which are very rare and I haven't seen any for sale for months... That is my reasoning and I stand by it How much extra maintenance is involved with an M3? Price / Details Wise And do you know anything about complete repaints to white?
  12. I've updated my original post, please have a quick re-read of it
  13. Hi guys Been looking for a car for a long time now & below is the list of options I'm looking for (in order of preference) #1 - 2004+, Under 100,000km - M3 #2 - 2003+, Under 100,000km - E46 330CI (facelift) #3 - 2003+, Under 100,000km, WHITE - E46 320CI/325CI (facelift) Also NZ New & Transmission: Anything except manual Couple trademe finds just wanna get feedback on http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-199707452.htm 325CI would be ok but I've seen 330CI's with similar mileage listed @ this price so it seems expensive http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-202423730.htm What are your thoughts? Assuming I was going for a 330CI would I be better off to just go for M3? I've heard early M3's had reliability issues but do are 2004+ ok? Also, if the car was silver or another such colour, what would it cost to do a proper repaint to WHITE? (Just roughly) Cheers
  14. Cause I've been looking for a car for too long & still haven't found one I've been eyeing a 2003 330ci facelift and already done AA check on it and everything, but the dealer is just being a real wanker I told him I'd be in friday to pick it up and didn't go, it was raining like nuts He rang me today and said what's the deal are you gonna get it or what I told him yeah couldn't come yesterday & he's like ok can you bring a deposit today I said no he said ok I'll put it back on the market then & if you come get it you get it The thing that gets me is, he's a dealer, and the WOF on the car is over 6 months old, so legally be needs to get a new wof before he can sell it And yet he's talking to me as if the car is ready to go & tellin me 'yeah I've already serviced the brakepads' etc which is what the AA inspection picked up as needing doing And yet, no new WOF Just get a real sense of dodginess from the guy as if he's trying to rush the sale through...
  15. Hi there guys I'm possibly getting a 2003 (Facelift) 330CI and am just wondering Does anyone know much about carbonfibre bonnets? Am interested to get an idea of.. prices & the difference in weight between a standard/carbon fibre bonnet Any help appreciated!
