  1. decent tires and lsd make a big difference. Putting a wavetrac in was one of my best investments Tuning tools like MHD, cOBB AND jB4 have software rattle reduction options. I use mhd but choose not to use the rattle fix as it can increase lag a pinch
  2. Its definitely not a while you wait job. They have to cut open Mufflers , cut out pipe , weld in new pipe which is tricky as you only have access from top and not a lot of room in muffler. I bought a used exhaust so I could leave with them and also keep my stock one in case I didn't like
  3. Pistop Grey Lynn did this exact mod for me and did a great job. But I found it way to loud, I purchased a used 335i exhaust to play on, but I put the original back on. Cold starts it sound like an exotic super car , but driving around was ridiculous. I still have the modded exhaust it you wanted to have a look at there work.
  4. 3rd gear pulls, 4th is better for logging ,but even in 3rd you are in big speeding ticket territory . Yeah the autos are good for a ton of power
  5. Jeepers did you have to go logging 12 times. Not easy finding a spot to do them here in AK
  6. A map after 1 log seems strange, they normally do about 5 at least and send through a new map each time. All dynos read different but I would be expecting more that 315hp
  7. Anyone know a Vehicle Inspection Service in Christchurch worth using? Its for a Nissan and I am in Auckland
  8. Nice work! Good to see you PTF Tune is giving you good numbers.
  9. Really sorry to hear about your experience, it sucks big time. But definitely stick to workshops that are recommended on here. If central BM Worksop Grey Lynn are great guys.
  10. Would you like to borrow my stock one in the meantime?
  11. Not worth making the claim. The charge pipe is super easy to fit, do it yourself.( no skill needed) so just the cost of the pipe, you policy excess is probably $300
  12. Yep definitely similar to the merc wheels, not for the BMW purist.
  13. Put these BGW Taunts on my 335i today Taunt 19x8.5 35p and 19x9.5 40p 5x120
  14. Don't think anyone local does custom Tuning with Cobb. Do a remote tune with Pro Tuning Freaks or Wedge Performance. I couldn't be happier with my Pro Tuning Freaks Cobb tune
  15. http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/news/74144782/bmw-totalled-on-las-famous-mulholland-drive
  16. Also note pre march 07 builds cant be flashed for Alpina Trans
  17. No I have a Cobb, but the MHD app has replaced the need for hardware.
  18. Now they are all releasing kits to move them to the otherside of the engine, proven dyno results apparently. The power steering reservoir moved.
  19. People with Jb4 will say JB4 people with Cobb accessport will say cobb. Both great , pages and pages of talk about both on google. I have a cobb and love how easy to install and uninstall . Plus you can get custom tunes remotely by Pro Tuning Freaks Or wedge.
  20. Are they sure it was exhaust flap rattle and not wastegate rattle?
  21. If you get the opportunity drive a modded N54 then you can make that choice. Its a big difference and hard to go back from. If I run the stock map it feels like i'm jumping into a 318
