  1. A Tesla model 3 weighs near enough to a 3 series, and lighter than an xdrive 6 cyl car, most EVs aren't really much heavier than their ICE counterparts All new cars are flabby ghastly rubbish That is an excellent bit of reading though
  2. As title, new in box No DMF included, just a base clutch kit for SMG cars $1200 obo, will ship for free
  3. CO2 = fuel burned. The old 33kw barina should have always been put in the bin, hateful things
  4. Cylinder deactivation is working towards this. I have a 15 year old V8 that has deactivation And an 87 year old car that does it all by itself on accident
  5. Our GS is about to turn in to an LS. Good cars.
  6. Way too easy to do a sub 8 minute run now.
  7. The load from the alternator is not really an issue. It's reasonably easy to figure out having an engine turn of for a certain period of time leads to small fuel savings
  8. Calm down fellas. Pack of lefty-righty sandal wearing keyboard smashers 🤦‍♂️
  9. All e70 diesels have DPF AFAIK, was a market option on the last of the e53s too
  10. I'm chuffed to bits with it. No reprieve for the family now 😅
  11. Cx5 is probably a wee bit above the ionic in general quality, fit and finish The diesel can suffer from premature DPF blockage, and it will destroy the engine. Which i guess happens with all the modern rubbish these days
  12. You need to do side bearing preload also, if you want it to be reliable.
  13. They're neat, father in law had one when fleet ranger exploded. Went really well, I'm surprised they haven't sold better
  14. I have all sorts of issues on the SBK site too, on PC and mobile. Does make one a bit peeved after throwing money at em
  15. I just started that one from the start and almost kicked the telly through the f**kin wall with those issues All happy now
  16. 1000kV DC link is what ya want, China are doing obscenely long transmission. Some big boy PV stuff going in Aus also. The infrastructure is mental, the synchronous condensers on those big projects are upwards of 250 tons. One we SourceSafe an armature that weighed 180t and needed a road built to get it to site 🤦‍♂️ We need more localised production, not just for EV but for future proofing NZ. Heatpumps are as big of an issue, same problems with inverters making yucky stuff happen on the grid And we need to boot the old boys club that is the NZ generation and transmission companies, govt has little to do with it and frankly they would struggle to do a worse management job
  17. I listened to it on Saturday, twice, absolute gold. His yarns about his old man are awesome
  18. I signed up as soon as that deal was released, it's a mere pittance after WSBK and MotoGP video passes 😬 John McG on the Collecting Cars Podcast is a must listen, absolutely hilarious
  19. Yup. Bringing gear from Russia is a bit spendy now too. But, who needs power stations to work?
  20. The rack stopping is done when the inner tie rod hits the casting in the rack, so no it's not worn If it's lowered, has wider tyres (not by much either), different offset wheels, worn bushes or a bad alignment it will do it. Most e36s have some wear there. I have turned up lock limiters for drift cars with modified knuckles, but typically they don't rub hard enough to cause issue Edit, they typically hit the left more than the right
  21. My favorite super sedan, love them to bits. Sledge hammer in a velvet coat
  22. You should be able to pick up a set of C spanners off trademe to do your soft top Single or twin pipe exhaust? 325/328 use twin, 320/323 are single

    M54b30 Rebuild

You can pick up ring grinders pretty cheap, but it's a pretty boring task and not exactly a tool you will use often. Mine spends more time being on loan than in my toolbox 🤦‍♂️ in a pinch you can use a diamond file or points file. They will need the block to do them
