  1. I could be keen on a set of these, would be going on my e39 so would have to re-bore as said above. How easy/cheap is that? Anyone know the best person to see about it?
  2. If you wanted to go real cheap you could grab yourself a couple cans of plasti-dip from Tademe/Bunnings etc and do it yourself. Heaps of youtube tutorials. It's as easy as ACB.
  3. Mate feel free to shoot me through any info you think I might find useful.
  4. You're a star. I'm moving up to Wellington in the new year, I'll buy you a beer when I get up there.
  5. Cheers man, I haven't actually pulled mine out yet to check but do you need a bulb for each ring? ie would I need to buy two lots of this auction? Or does it take one bulb for each side?
  6. Hello fellas, I'm looking at upgrading my fading yellow angel eyes and changing to the bright white ones. Has anyone done this? Is it simply plug and play? http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/auction-668344633.htm Currently looking at this set on Trademe. Any one have any advice? Cheers
  7. I've currently got a 530i and I love it. Not yet have I felt I needed that extra litre and 2 cylinders. It's got the up and go when required, but is a lovely quiet cruiser when you ask it of her. Sure, I contemplated the V8, but ultimately chose the 530i. Best of luck with your hunt.
  8. Anything is going to look rough next to that blue one though.
  9. My two cents as a new kid here? I'd still pick BMWCON, I'm a big fan of that colour on the drop tops. You'd have to do away with the god awful roof though (can you dye those suckers?). Then I'd be wanting to pick up those BBS wheels our friend crazyarab is selling and settle the car down on those. Sure, you'd have to throw a little more money at it to get a manual conversion but in the mean time you'd have a lovely little cruiser. Anyone know how much kidneys are going for on the market?
  10. Flicking through old threads and might have an answer to this problem if anyone needs it in the future. I had a similar issue with a previous e39. It turned out to be worn wires in the boot flexi hose (where the wires go from the car to the boot lid). They were shorting out and keeping the car from going into sleep mode. $0.50 for some solder and heat shrink and she was sorted.
  11. Man I'm a little gutted I didn't snap this one up when you had it for sale a few months back. She's a stunner.
  12. Hey BimmerSport. My name is Leo and I am a BMW addict. I've just returned from Europe after a while away and managed to pick up this little thing on my return. It's a 2001 e39 530i Motorsport. All over it's in pretty good nick and I'm very pleased with it. Black leather interior with dark headlining and brushed aluminium trim makes for a very happy boy. It came on 17" Msport Paras but I've got a loaner set of Beyern 19" on it at the moment until I find some wheels I'm happy with. I'm currently living in Nelson and will be here until the end of Feb so I can make the most of summer, after which I'll be heading up to Wellington to get a real job. If there is any other members in Nelson give me a shout or if any of you are planning on coming here over the summer let me know and I'd love to meet up for a beer and a chat.
  13. Late reply but a friend had tinted plastic covers that clipped over the whole headlight. Legally you're supposed to remove them after dark. I think they fall under 'Body Protection' ie classic cars? Don't quote me though.
  14. Hey fellas (& ladies?) New user here. I've just returned to the country after a year in the motherland and have managed to pick up a very tidy 2001 e39 530i Msport that I'm over the moon with. Pictures (possibly a full photo album) to come. One of the very few bad points on the car is a busted right fog light. Does anyone have one floating around in their man caves? Happy to buy a pair if it works better. Many thanks in advance. Leo
