About Me

The BMW life chose me.

Always wanted a M3 since I was in highschool but always seemed out of reach. Until one came alone .. high kms but NZ New and a full service history. Had it checked out and the same day I picked it up for under 4 figures (under 10k) which was a bargain at the time! Now even more so, since prices of e36 m3s have gone from 12-14k up to 18-21k .. some at 23+k for a mint condition example .. a compression test done late July 2016 showed the S50B32 with 195psi with less than 7% variance between each cylinder so shes doing well even at 300,000k.

It hasn't been cheap maintaining it, but worth it to keep it reliable as a daily driver .. this isn't a garage queen.

Found out this car is 1 of 14 NZ new Evo Sedans (3.2L) hence the service history and carjam showed a previous owner had a massive commute over several years which clocked up the k's on the highway. It also sat for close to a year getting a full respray and body work, someone decided (crazy someone) to respray over the factory technoviolet to an ordinary silver. SIGH. But at least the paint is new and it was a complete job (6k+) short of dropping the engine and doing the engine bay, the owner sprayed everything else.

Modifications are (mostly) reversible to bring it back to factory, the only part which I'd need would be the exhaust system which I sold off when I installed an imported Corsa RSC36. Full HID install (new units, designed for RHD so no massive glare with daytime running angel eyes - you can always spot me because it is very bright!!). Suspension modifications include H&R Sport Springs on the factory Bilstein shocks which tuck the factory staggered M-Contours nicely under the rear fenders with no rubbing even with a full car.
