  1. What about the m5 though? That makes more sense as a factory touring.
  2. Sell your 7 series and buy this? (and the manual trans from the one that went in the sea)
  3. Misread this as 2 slay dogs.. was wondering what you were on about there for a second.
  4. ebay? or maybe not... http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-MTech-Steering-Wheel-Badge-BRAND-NEW-GENUINE-32-33-1-155-957-/111522342514?hash=item19f73fe672&vxp=mtr
  5. What show? Motorway patrol or similar?
  6. Unless it's a super special wheel get a correct fitting wheel? Or are you able to change the spline on the column (no idea if you can)
  7. After further research I think need another g260 (probably the same as euroho) and some appropriate drive shaft and shift linkage
  8. If I did something that would require a cert, go big or go home? manual m60b40 swap? I think putting an m30 into it probably wouldn't be worth it as I would need a cert for that, so I may as well put something worthwhile into it... EDIT: I think just getting the correct gearbox would be simplest...
  9. I hate it when I'm right... I did mention to the guy selling it that I thought the gearbox wouldn't fit because it was off an m30 and it doesn't fit my m20 (no suprises there)... So now I need to either: Get the right gearbox for my car (swaps anyone?) Get an m30 for my car Put someother engine and gearbox in my car or get a car with an m30 and manual swap it and get rid of the e28 Ideas?
  10. I'll take the tech one wheel please. Any thing e28 compatible? EDIT: Assuming it fits my e28.
  11. So my manual says to replace these... So I guess I need some new ones. 8x m20 single mass flywheel bolts for an 85 525e. Any thing else I should replace while I'm there? What's the best place to get these? Dealership (gulp), amazon, ebay, pelican parts or some local supplier? Thanks
  12. It depends on the price, but I'm pretty sure that the lower front and upper and lower rears will fit an e28 Edit: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW-E28/c-86-bmw-control-arms.aspx http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=99998
  13. Price on rear breaks and all control arms?
  14. Keyless starting... Especially when the driver hops out of the car with engine still running...
  15. Me too
  16. So... I think I might have a Victor Reinz headgasket as I have a VR exhaust shield (See the photos in the linked thread) and my engine looks similar to the one in the photos (in regards to the oil on the block and not the head). Would be a good time to put on a different head though http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106683&page=2
  17. I took some more photos of the flywheel and clutch. Does everything look ok? Also took a photo of my helper... EDIT: Yes they are gardening gloves, I didn't want to get the camera dirty
  18. Will the m40 flywheel and/or clutch work on an m43?
  19. Yeah, from those pictures definitely, got any recommended places?
  20. I believe someone had been trying to sell this for ages on here and now it looks like the people who bought it are selling it. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-922673111.htm EDIT: Found it http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/50835-bmw-e34-525i-touring-nz-new-92-non-sunroof/?hl=%2B1992+%2Btouring
  21. Is the 260 I have the correct one for an 85 eta?
  22. Changed the stuffed bonnet strut. Started a project thread: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/53491-85-525e-first-car/?p=577320
  23. So I bought my first car on the week end, but it needs a bit of work... It's a 1985 Bronzit 525e that is half way through a manual swap, it's got manual windows and sunroof but that just means less things to break (I hope). It's a bit of a mess at the moment, most of the center console is taken apart and there is no gearbox or driveshaft in it. The previous owner has done most of the electronics and put the pedal box in.
  24. Possibly a e46 m3 CSL in Wellington this morning, wasn't quite sure as I only got a glimpse. It was an m3 and there looked like CSL was in the number plate
