  1. Looking to buy a NZ new BMW Business radio cd model cd43 with code. Thanks
  2. Thanks Handgrenade but I think I'll be looking for a CD43 so I can make up a system like yours. Just to be a pain is it right that with an Anycar device (or other similar types) fitted then I wouldn't be able to play the CD's in the 6 deck changer in the boot?
  3. Thanks handgrenade. Can you get custom USB SD and 3.5mm ports to fit the centre console? If you use one of these Anycar units with the CD43 can you still control the cd changer in the boot? So the C43 tape version won't work with the Anycar? Is your tape deck a C43? Got a picture? Appreciate the help.
  4. Thanks handgrenade. I've looked at that thread and that's what I'm trying to achieve. So do I need a CD43 rather than a C43 head unit. Also this may seem like a dumb question but if you mount the Anycar unit behind the radio how do you get access to it to plug in your USBs or SD cards or phone etc?
  5. Had a look at the tranny pan today and there's a green sticker on it which says 'Warning only use BMW fluids' then some part numbers ending in ..858 and ..859 Dexron III I rang my local dealer and they will sell this at about $20/l however he did say most people just use any old Dex3 from Supercheap.. So is it best to stick to a traditional Dexron III that the box was designed for or go with a more modern synthetic.
  6. Getting stuck in to the ICE at the moment and just discovered I'm missing a radio code, which I'm getting sorted, for the C33 fitted radio cassette. I understand that a band expander is not the way to go to get the NZ radio frequencies (Japanese at the moment) so will be wanting a C43 Business head unit. My question is are these all the same from say UK and US? I've seen a few and they look a little different with the button layout. Will a US or European version work ok here?
  7. Local supplier has Mobil Multipurpose ATF but no Mobil 1 ATF I can get Fuchs Titan D3 approved to quality level Dexron III (H) Pelican parts US recommend Fuchs Titan 3353 which is now called Titan 4134 Penrite recommend their ATF FS (synthetic) oil. Castrol site recommends their ATF Dex III. etc
  8. Where do I find the Mobil 1 ATF and how much realistically would I need to use after a 'pan off' drain. Can you use the gearbox internal pump to help pump out the last bit of old fluid (after refilling the the pan with new stuff) by disconnecting the gearbox cooling return pipe?
  9. Well folks I checked behind the wheels and there seems to be quite a bit of clearance, certainly about 50mm. I'm thinking that that must allow a number of BMW 17" wheels to fit even with an ET of 50. The wheels on at the moment have an ET of 46 although they are only 7" wide and the wheels I'm thinking of are 8.5".
  10. I've Googled this but have found many different and confusing opinions. What fluid should I use when I change the gearbox transmission oil in the GM 4 speed auto? Would any Dexron 3 be suitable? What have other people used? Thanks
  11. I'll need to have a look and measure behind the current wheel set up to see what space is available (inside and outside). I don't want to have spacers so will need to get the right offset on the new wheels.
  12. I was thinking of a 17" BMW radial spoke wheel, 8.5" wide and ET 50 for the rear.
  13. My car has style 18 rims 16" with ET of 46 front and rear. Can I go to ET 50 and 17" on the rear? What are the limits on the front? Thanks
  14. I thought of going to a standard ride height as I don't like the lowered look especially seeing as my car may have sunk further due to age of springs. I'd prefer the car to have a more comfortable ride rather than a harsh feel, it is very nice on a smooth road though.
