    "Better?" It's a religious thing.

Any reputable brand of the correct type and viscosity will be "suitable". This is underwritten by the fact that vehicle manufacturers change their oil brand allegiance as it suits them.

In the early 2000's after the bearing failures in e46 M3's, BMW said "you must use Castrol Edge 10w-60" and so people did. But (some) people also went to stupid lengths to get the stuff that BMW dispensed rather than what you could buy off the shelf. These people declared "there is no alternative, your children will die if you use something else" and the belief in unicorn piss oil persisted. The BMW simply changed their oil partner and now fill those same cars up with Shell 10w-60 without blinking an eye... totally undermining the "only one brand/type" argument.

My engine oil cap says "use Castrol" yet BMW will fill it up with Shell...

But for those that prefer to use Castrol then 50% off normal retail is a good deal regardless of why they want to use it (as would be 50% of Penrite). I use Castrol Edge in the M3 because that's what it has always had and I'm happy with it. I intend to use Penrite in the 130 as I did in the 128 because I have no problem with the quality of HPR5.

Thank you for your non-denominational answer. I appreciate it. I'll stay happy with my HPR5 supply and habits (of buying more when at half price.)

Sorry I was referring to still shipping to NZ, in which Amazon US still will but all their other sites no longer do.

Ah my bad. Yeah, amazon.com.au does not ship here. I haven't tried co.uk in awhile, they might? Bookdepository still ships here just fine (That's amazon-owned too, if that isn't obvious)

On the news I thought they said that Amazon international wont ship to Aussie after the law change? Did I hear it wrong?

Amazon  International doesn't ship to Australia at all, but amazon.com.au has most things from Amazon International anyway, and they  have Prime. So in many ways,  they got a better deal  in the end. The selection is more limited, but what Amazon does sell ships a lot cheaper to AU now.

This thread makes me think I should travel home to the US more often and bring back some heavy things in my luggage selectively. :)

Or just buy some big axle stands. You will use them many more times

Whilst I agree with this  answer, and I have axel stands...  I also have  a ramp which I made from materials from bunnings,  looks a lot like the drawings above... I had to put my 530i on the ramps before I could jack them up to put them on the  stand! For oil changes I just  used the ramp. For real work, I used the ramp then the stands. A reasonable compromise, which I was aiming towards before my car met it's untimely wall-death... was a small ramp to get on the jack stands. Yes, the simple version is two ramps! :)

I'm not sure. How would I find that out?

Yep, that's it. Part number 11367524489

I actually misread your post. If  I can get OEM, I get OEM, but I also have no problem with buying the cheapest possible part sometimes and  seeing  how I go. For $60 from  Rockauto+shipping,  I'd  get that Ultra-Power  and  see how I  go, tbh. The price  difference  is too huge not to try (for me.)

Also, feel free to make nominations for anyone who is active on the forum that you think would be well suited. Sadly I’m a bit out of touch with the membership these days.

I'm one of the people who emailed. I am more than happy to run/maintain the site. I am not so active as to do moderation daily, but running websites/forums is something I do and have done on a daily basis for a long time now. :)

  7. You might be searching for "Life and Adventures of Santa Clause" and getting no results... Search for "Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" and you'll get results. I have a pdf/ebook here if you want that, but I think you want a dead tree (I agree they make better books...) Trademe, as Mikan says, or Whitcoulls has it too.

EDIT: Bah, Whitcoulls is 10-12 days shipping. Must come from the UK.

Yes they are exactly the same infrared one so I’ll try get diamond-shaped keys with radio frequency I just need to check where the modules are that states the types of frequencies. Thank you for your help much appreciated.

You can have either RF, or IR, but not both. The frequency, if it's RF, can be derived from the VIN.

    "Information regarding remote control:
Basic = remote control 433 MHZ
    SA 876 = remote control 315 MHZ
SA 875 = infrared remote control"

    Damn

On the positive side at least it can be replaced easy if required or you can change to something else

That's the idea. Wife is keen on a Toyota, and I might just have to go with that to save myself considerable grief. Her experience of my BMW ownership was not a positive one! :)
