    Gissa job!

It depends entirely on job description/requirement. I concede OpenStack as a specific example hadn't been around very long then, but the point I was getting at is if the role is senior enough, 5 years of Cloud experience is perfectly reasonable. Even 5 years of OpenStack experience is reasonable, it's just limiting on your candidate pool, and you should consider bringing in high budgets for that, or re-assess what you really need. In fact, from the top contributor companies to OpenStack, I am fairly confident there is exactly one person in New Zealand who'd meet that description in a meaningful, and he's happily employed. Anyway, Cloud is a special topic for me, and it's a biased view, but 5 years of actual working experience (not including having drawn a diagram five years ago...) is not unreasonable. Sorry. EDIT: You're right that these are almost never hard requirements. Job descriptions are more like a wishlist. If you tick enough boxes, that's all that matters. EDIT2: My pet peeve is jobs that ask for Masters degrees, or other irrelevant higher qualification.

    Gissa job!

Hmm, depends how that's defined, I suppose, but EC2 was the first true 'cloud' (I'm a fan of the saying "There is no cloud, it's just someone else's computer...) offering, and that came out nearly 12 years ago. 5 years of Cloud experience, I'd want to see solid experience with OpenStack, AWS, OpenShift, etc, all of which are older than 5 years now... Docker is 5 years old, LXC is 9. Saying "Cloud experience 5+ years" means they want someone who doesn't just know Kubernetes/Azure, or who has been on the ground for these things for a long time relative to the technology. Granted, even working in this space, I know a handful of people who fit that description, but hey, if I'm looking for a senior person in that space, it isn't an unreasonable ask.
  8. Just saw this car. Gorgeous colour. Colin does seem chuffed.

    Quick Questions

Mine is the original on the left, and the OEM replacement on the right. Can you post a picture of yours? I have seem a technique on youtube where you stick a star socket onto the pulley and turn. If you have no bolt... maybe that?

    Quick Questions

Stick a shallow socket onto the 'bolt' built into the tensioner in the picture attached and turn. I forget what it is, but it's a regular size, maybe 16mm? EDIT: Oh, yours don't look like these eh. Yeah, you be screwed.

    Help needed...

This isn't the same issue. His issue was a lot more mundane. I think this is something you can resolve with INPA, or BMW Scanner. Have a look at a thread like this: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2233690-Car-not-starting-after-reset-the-ews-dme-adaptations-with-BMW-Scanner This is a relatively common issue, and you want to search for "e39 sync DME EWS" even some youtube videos around if this is the same issue. I'm always happy to code up keys, but note I am out of keys right now. I'll order more once I am actually living in my own house again, in that fantasy day when the renovations end...
  16. Have you found one yet? If not, do you, or anyone else want to go halves on one?
  17. The only thing to worry about nowadays is voltage requirements, but a lot of things are dual voltage anyway. Or is your question more logistics based? If it's in original packaging, that's basically how they're shipped around the world... I'll grant our stuff mostly came in a container from Singapore, not piecemeal though...
  18. Anyone able to program two Nissan keyfobs for me for beers, or cheaper than the commercial rate out there? I'll throw it out there, but I figure anyone able to program Nissan fobs can do BMW ones too... but I'll happily trade coding e46/39 keys for the Nissan ones.
  19. If it was key/EWS related I'd be all over that... sorry.

    M62tu

This sounds like a part one should buy from FCP Euro, and just replace every year for free thenceforth.
