  1. Hi all,

I have the SRS Airbag warning in I-Drive with airbag and seatbelt lights on cluster. (04 e60 545i)

Have bought a Creator 310+ BMW scan tool and spent the last couple of hours trying to find the fault/code. Checked all the obvious airbag related option, automatic search and specific vehicle search, no luck. Tried to find something on YouTube but limited when it comes to e60 airbag stuff.

Any tips on using the Creator 310+ and airbag codes, sensors etc greatly appreciated.

  2. I soaked mine with desolve it for half hour first, then used fishing line which came with new badges to remove, then a heat gun and more desolve it to remove left over foam and adhesive. Clean and polish and good as new. You Tube vids showed all the above and caution required with heat gun. I also took heaps of pics before and took measurements to ensure correct location of new badges.

Yes saw this and has the black interior. I believe this is the 4th into the country? With only 88k on the clock and a full service history it may be a good buy.

Gee are that that rare? Think I saw another one on TradeMe a month or two ago (black?), but that's all I've seen. Very nice weekend toy you have there.

  4. Two and half hours to go and just over 5k

I would hope it would at least double, surely this a 11k plus vehicle. Think those rims look sharp on this, sure I have seen them on a couple of other e60's. Think they're these:

There's another down there with issues starting at 3k and buy now of 5k.

Needs a power plant.  Owner reckons he cant find one, and his old one's dropped a ring.  Body and interior look tidy.

M62's aren't too hard to come by.  If I had a workshop, I'd be tempted.  $10k.

    Would the N62 fit?

  6. I think incorrectly re badging and not doing anything about it is worse.

An e39 and an e60 M5 for the price of one.

The very rare 523i M5 LOL it's even on carjam that way.

The 550i M5, you would think a car sales would know better.

Don't think it's an M-sport badge upside down, reckon it's code for WannaCry. It started by accident in the electronics of a BMW, cos lets face it these cars all make us WannaCry at some stage.

like Kyu, I like the black grille and 545i badge.

I'm not so big on the roundel - hey, it's what you like that counts.

Polishing?  I think Electric Six sang "oh let me take you to the Clay Bar, Clay Bar, Clay Bar...." talk to @Barryn from this parish!

Haha I don't know the group or song but do know your thoughts on clay barring, will definitely do it sometime. Does Barryn sell them? if so where? link? Cheers

I think the grills and the black 545i badge looks good. Not a huge fan of the black roundel but nothing wrong with it. I had some on my previous car which was a black e46.

Headlights definitely need your attention next!

Any plans on the wheels? Staying as is? Looks really big? 19s?

Yea they're 20's, I flick between changing to 18's and keeping, often. Had thought if I can find some style 135's and powder coat them gunmetal grey I would. Will see, love the current look but not the ride.

  9. So I finished my blackout de chrome thing. Looks ok I think.

50/50 on the grille, chrome vs gloss black, like the black but wonder if it makes it look tacky or cheap!

Love the smoked out side indicators, they blend in and don't stand out like the clear ones, although the old ones were yellow and sun damaged.

Black roundels look ok and quite like the black 545i.

Nothing that can't be changed if I grow to dislike and return to factory if sold etc.

Turtle wax tar and bug remover did a great job on bumper and mirrors and cleaned it with new foaming gun and microfibre mitts but splitting headache prevented me from even drying it let alone a polish of wax. Comes up alright with just a clean at the mo anyway.

Edit: need to grow some balls and motivation to do the DIY headlight restoration and stone chip restoration also. Any tips for wheel cleaning, polishing, care etc

  10. Thought it was gastly last year with Evans, but really enjoying this season. Think Le Blanc's doing well for a Yank actor on a Pomme car show and the other two have their strengths and they all compliment each other well.

The Grand Tour's OK, still enjoy the genuine bants between the three of them but there is a lot of contrived set up BS.

Was interesting seeing there reviews of the Alpha and how similar they were and they even chose the same (ish) Maserati for their Cuba story and what ever they did on GT (can't remember) .
